Sadly, Sins has some online multiplayer issues that may have driven some people away such as the minidumps problem and most importantly, the inability for people to host games unless they have configured their router properly. I suspect this is a far more crucial component of the issue than people simply being 'wussies'. There's no shortage of games worth playing online at any given time and if it's a tossup between a g
Arrrgggg!!!Yet another great game ruined by Mini Dumps.I've have never seen a mini dump before Sins. Is it my machine at fault somehow?, or is this a sins thing? Its got to the point I really wonder the point of playing. I love Stardock, but please guys, why the mini dumps, why can I not rejoin a game if I am only gone a minute?I mean with (spit) WorldofWarcraft you can rejoin a battle ground if you are gone only a couple of minutes. This way Since I am one of only 10% that can host a game

So EA has gotten a bad reputation for customer support, and there are plenty of good arguments to be made to suggest that it is well-deserved. Recently a post on the Command & Conquer website from the EALA general manager appeared: http://www.commandandconquer.com/intel/default.aspx?id=164#NewsMain I'll be the first to admit that talk is cheap, but it is nice to see a developer representati
That's correct. After we all changed it to TRUE, we have yet to have a problem.
Well, I tried this last night with some friends on a LAN game. It seems to actually have helped. We were finally able to complete a 3 vs. 3 multiplayer game. First time ever. Hopefully this will continue to hold up. Other recent changes have included the NVIDIA Beta drivers and the new SoaSE patch (which is its own little headache, and in keeping with the slew of problems I've had with Si

Sounds interesting...can you give me the details on how to do that? Is it a setting in user.settings? Thanks!

My 2 cents - I'm really stoked to see that there is some visible effort going into this. Thanks.
Also, as we have tried to tell people, nearly all the crashes in multiplayer are due to one player having made mods to their system that the game couldn't handle. What we find frustrating are users who are quick to scream "bug" when in fact most of the time the problem is self imposed. What we can do is try to find ways to keep the game from crashing everyone else.
Though I would LOVE to see ANY kind of REAL STATISTICS on this game (even how many minidump reports SD
Yes, actually, there is arguing that point. They have done their best to produce a great game, but its physically impossible for them to test it on every single possible combination hardware and software. As such, they release a game that is to the best of their ability "perfect" -- and as that ability is merely human, it isn't perfect. Instead of whining because they made a mistake, mailing in the minidump solves the problem. "To err is human, to forgive, divine" -- you paid for software
I hate to sound like a broken record, but I like how 4 stardocks reply on this thread, and none of them every reply to the desynch bug which prevents 50% of us from playing this game multiplayer, and although this isnt my issue, because I can't play the game, I haven't seen too much discussion on improving game balancing either.Sins is in my opinion one of the biggest cons PC gaming has ever been swindled by, and its really sad because I looked on this game as its salvation.
<

I really think the install program (and for that matter, other parts of the game) isn't very robust. Some people have no problem installing/running it and therefore assume it is all "the user's fault," but it seems that a lot of people are having issues. I'm not sure what install errors other people are getting...I initially had an MSXML error with tryinig to install the game from a retail DVD. That went away after adding some windows updates for XP and I started getting the "Fatal Er

Thanks for the help... Are they UDP or TCP ports? Do I just manually edit the user.setting file? Is this discussed in another thread?

Does anyone know if there is an issue with playing Sins multiplayer online with TWO PCs running separate copies of the game behind a router on a shared connection? I'm wondering if this is causing SOME of my game crashes (though it still happens when only one PC is logged in and the router is bypassed). Secondly, anyone tried using a VPN client like Hamachi to play this with a few others in multiplayer? Any issues with that? Thanks.

First of all...LOVED the Lemon-Lightning Bolt clip. So damn good. I get what you're saying, and I realize how many people pirate games, but I think people don't expect enough from the gaming companies. I'm not going to feel relieved that they didn't tell me to "Fob Off." I ponied up cash for the game...it's on THEM to make sure I get a solid registration code and the updates I deserve. I just don't need the hassle of photographing the box and serial code, etc. And thanks fo

Am I to understand that you think that the issues with this game (read the forums for details) are a GOOD thing? Normal? Acceptable? Any ideas on how to fix this besides an oh-so-witty reply? Are you next going to tell me that a 33% XBox 360 failure rate is "innovative" or something, and that complaining about that is bad form? Sheesh. I don't know why I bother sometimes.

I have to say, I was pretty stoked about this game when I first read the reviews from the usual zines. It got very high ratings, multiplayer looks good, and you can save those long epic battles. I bought the game a few days ago in a store. After an insane amount of time wasted just trying to get the install to run on Windows XP (MSXML errors that wouldn't improve despite Windows Updates and changing the IDE transfer type/speed to no avail) I finally copied the DVD to
