I remember reading a while back that Stardock planned on 3 expansions for Sins. The first, Entrenchment (obviously already out) was to focus on defense, the 2nd on diplomacy (rumored), and the third was not revealed. Just curious if anyone has heard any news, or more likely rumors, regarding the next two?
I've had some problems with the dock giving the "No Information Available" message when I pull my laptop out of standby. However, if I right click and choose update it always starts right up. Otherwise, I'm not sure.
They have not announced the content of the third expansion pack yet, maybe it will be a story mode. If this is their plan, I'm happy to see them wait and get a good story together than the typical strategy game scenario of "Ok you don't have access to these 5 very useful technologies and you can't build these seven very useful units. The enemy can and will attack your base in 5 minutes using them (cue on-screen countdown)." I think the devs left out a story mode because they did not want
On the topic of Impulse itself- I originally downloaded Sins back before Impulse was released and was using StarDock Central. I had some problems with getting online with the game and the Registration Code. StarDock Support asked me to try downloading this new software package called Impulse and try the code again and suddenly everything worked. So I can't knock Impulse in any way. I don't understand how, but it makes Sins work better for me ha ha. Also, perhaps it just slipped m
I don't believe planets have shields in Sins. As a side-note antimatter is also seperate from shields. It allows your ships to use special attacks, and depletes when these attacks are used or your ships jump to phase space.
Hey I always enjoy good fan fiction and I like your writing style. Nice work.
As strange as this sounds I first heard about it from OXM (Official Xbox Magazine). Their sister magazine is PC Gamer and I guess PC Gamer loved it and their editiors couldn't stop talking about it so the OXM editors gave it a try. They loved it so much they decided to mention it in their magazine as well! I thought it sounded interesting so I looked up the website online and started reading up on it. Then I saw a Review of it in Game Informer that was really positive as well. At that point I
Ah, afraid I originally purchased the Standard Edition. Too bad there's no upgrade option but thanks for the quick reply.
I bought the Standard Edition of Sins some time ago. Since then, I regret that I did not buy the collectors. I noticed that it said in the orginigal post here that the box could be sent for 5 dollars and shipping. Is it possible to pay to have just the box and the collector's edition items sent to me?
I've had the same problem. It might be your browser. I;m using Firefox so try Internet Explorer instead. Otherwise just don't worry about so much lol its not a big deal
I think you're doing a great job, keep it up!
I pictured it as less strategy because people will find swarming much easier: Lower resource cost = more ships. Then with ships being destroyed easier, swarming will become possible since protecting valuable capital ships will be useless. They will cost less and do less damage, so there will be no strategy in using them (the point being they cost more because they deal more damage). Perhaps I'm wrong but I think this Mod will result in swarming on a large scale and take less strategy.
Send a PM to Seabass. He should be able to check your ticket for you
I had forgotten the name of the button. On Impulse its update. The register button is correct. Hit that button after you type in the info and continue from there. The reason I ask you be patient is that 1) All of these steps came from support where I had the same problem 2) Most companies would never tell you this much they would just tell you to return the game at the store Stardock is doing much more than you would usually see and you should appreciate that. They did not caus
Well the reason capital ships are so costly and have high shields and hull points is so that you have to use them tactically. The reasons you see a scout take many hits is because either 1) It is upgraded and your own offensive systems are not 2) You are not hitting it with the right counters (more on this in a second) or 3) Both. Sins is a Real Time STRATEGY game. The whole purpose is that only certain types of ships will do good damage to certain types of ships. In larger battles a fl
Download StarDock central, click on the top Tools > Register Products. Then click on the left side navigation My Games, and select Sins from the drop down list. Type in your registration number and your e-mail and click Update. Then go to the left navigation and select Internet. Click Refresh XML Data. Then uninstall and reinstall StarDock Central. Support did not create this problem, but they certainly can help you fix it if you calm down. If the steps above do not work than contact su
Make sure you check your spam/junk e-mail folder. Also if your computer is set to auto-delete junk e-mails then check your deleted items folder.
I'm wondering on where the Support section on this website so I can send an email to get another Code since the Serial Code didn't work either so I would just rather do what i did for Galactic Civilizations II were i just sent an email and got a new Code.
P.S. They don't just send you a "new code". To make things go faster send them an e-mail that contains pictures of the original box, cd, and serial number if you have the retail version.
I tried uninstalling/reinstalling StarDock Central and it allowed me to register the game without error messages. I then checked Impulse, and all error messages have disappeared from there as well. Thanks for your help and patience in helping me get through this.
I just read through the thread and personally I think that it only really gets bad in large games. The update to max it out with Fleet size is a huge help for a TEC player however, because even though Vasari are getting free ships, TEC should have a strong enough economy to wait it out in the short run and continue producing. Once they max their fleet capacity you are arguably on semi-equal ground since Vasari ships cost more to produce (so they will be falling back on RA) but TEC has strong eco
I went through the registry and did in fact have a Sin and Sins folder. I deleted the Sins one and the pop-up messages have disappeared from SDC however going into Setting->My Games and clicking to update the serial number still gives me the error that the serial is invalid. I check Impulse and it still lists the registration as invalid. As I said though this did eliminate all the pop-up messages as soon as SDC is opened, and I can still update the game without any error messages. Do you think u
been a day or so now no reply to ticket yet was hoping to own some friends of mine tonight *sob*
...It's been one day. Have a little patience.
I installed Impulse and while it does still say my registration is invalid in the registration tab, I do not get any error messages that pop up when I load the program. When I tried to update the registration it gave me the error message about e-mail/serial being invlad (ref 204). However the program runs smoother and quicker than Stardock Central, and does not give me any error messages when I attempt to update software, so I'll probably use this system from now on to update. I also find it mor
I tried Refrshing the XML data but I'm still getting the message. As long as it is going to continue to allow me to update and play online though it's not really a concern. I just wanted to make sure that on your end you wouldn't think that my registration was invalid and shut it off at some point in the future.
