Now I know some people will probably see the title and say "WHAT ARE YOU THINKING?!" First, hear me out. All I'm curious about is whether it's possible to give said Kol BB "torpedoes" - I'm thinking something similar to the Dunov battlecruiser's missiles. Is it possible, and if so, how would I go about doing it? Bearing in mind that I'm not much of a programmer... but if it's just a matter of modifying a couple settings in a text file somewhere.... Also wondering if it's possible to d

Hee hee hee! i'm picturing the missile battery/siege cannon zipping around a gravwell, shooting at enemy ships and stations. Wheee! Too funny :P

Slightly confused: I'm assuming it's not (yet) compatible with Entrenchment v1.03? Also, both links I clicked on, well, the first gives me a patch for it and the other, well, it brings me to some page where I can upload files if I feel so inclined. Question mark? Freespace 2 is one of those games I'm addicted to, along with SOASE and Supreme Commander. Just downloaded the Babylon 5 mod for FS2 and DAMN! But I digress. If anyone can light the way for me there,

What if you took an idea similar in concept to the Advent mines deployed by their orbital hangars and light carriers? Just change it so that they can be shot down by "normal" weapons... I've managed to pull off building light carriers and having them haul nothing but homing mines, that dart towards enemy ships and explode... perhaops something similar for all three factions' capships, but not "invulnerable" because they're in "phase space" or some such?...

The Advent Deliverance Engine is their attempt at recreating the effect Chuck Norris has on a planet's populace/culture/influence when he looks at a planet on the starmap. Chuck Norris' computer is the only one that can play 7DS with all details cranked to the max. It also cools down the harder it works.

Well, that could be done, but it wouldn't entirely be SINS would it? More of an FPS-style story set in the same universe... As for requests, I never considered it before, but there's no reason I couldn't give it a try... course, someone's already writing a story based in teh SINSverse - Saints of a Solar Empire, if I'm not mistaken? Personally, I kinda like doing the short-story scenario writing. I'm working on a novel of my own atm.... well, it's turning into a saga at this point. Gi

I got talking with one of my friends who is a big achievement collector on Xbox 360, PS3 and WoW, and he got me wondering: do the ingame achievements in SINS unlock anything, or otherwise do anything to or for the player, aside from announce completion of said task?

If memory serves, it was a random map, and yes, it was against an AI...

Here's an adaptation of something I pulled off last night in Entrenchment, thought it was worth sharing. After weeks of skirmishes and being pushed steadily back by Advent forces, the Trader Emergency Coalition was able to seize the planet Wyvern, in the Cygnos Cluster, a key strategic focal point in the phase lane network and at the time, one of the few planets in the sector almost untouched by Advent forces. The planet Wyvern, an old naval base with many ancient relics left over fro

WELL, you can always play through a single player game and let your imagination run wild... Look up my post in the Strategy section called "Operation Battleaxe" for example :P But on principle, I agree completely with Stranger213. A campaign or elaboration on the backstory would be the next level of awesome, but the game (and all the mods that are out, and coming out) work for me for the time being.

Reply to Fleets in Strategy

I generally have one main heavy hitting battle fleet, comprised of 2-3 Kol battleships, 1-2 Dunov battlecruisers, a Sova carrier, an Akkan and a dreadnought, escorted by between 15-20 Kodiaks, a handful of carriers, 4-6 Cielos, a couple flak frigates, and lots and lots of LRM frigates, Around 20 at least. My other fleets are jsut a mishmash of starships that does come kind of close to respecting that ratio, but I do like to have a small force comprising a dreadnought, some carriers, a bunch o

Thanks! Glad you enjoyed. I'll try to post more as I come up with (or come across) them. haven't played too much lately, and not for long enough to pull off something of supreme awesomeness as that, but hey, things can happen!

LOL good point. And kudos to what ya got done already :D I like it. I also agree that most of the existing structures can function for the mod - shipyards in particular. As for the turrets, I dunno, but hey, your call. Honestly, I'd like to see ships OTHER than the Kol BB and the battlestation equipped with beam weapons!

LOL Don't stop I can't stop laughing! This is the new thing! Chuck Norris didn't get the Collector's Edition perks for free, they emerged from his beard and made themselves at home on his desk. I also hear that he doesn't have a chin, it's a third fist... Not all that great at it, but had to contribute!

I see it now, awesome, thanks! I've done that, so HOPEFULLY when 7DS comes out for Entrenchment, I'll be able to play it as long as I darn well feel like, regardless of game updates!
