Hey folks. Been a DS player for quite a long time; I made a map, currently called Nalinathrian Borderlands , which is part of a lore set I'll be making... eventually, heh. This one is pretty simple. Basically, I just made the map with thirty planets to a star, five stars, all of it completely random; even the home planets, though those are weighted. This basically makes

Hey folks, I hope I'm not asking about something that's already got an answer, but I couldn't find anything on the forums relating. For some reason, when I try and enable the mod, Sins locks up completely- I can't get out of it in full screen unless I do a hard reset of my computer. I have the mod in the Diplomacy mods folder (1.34), so I'm not sure what might be the problem. I got this while running in dev mode: Text F
Ah, yes, pardon; they are found in any of the .Galaxy files for a map. Just search for the two keywords and you'll find them. When you make a new player, it's always NormalPlayer TRUE, whilst the other two are FALSE (In my experience anyways). If it does do something like, as you said ManSh00ter, cause constant rebellion, could provide some interesting gameplay mechanics and campaign styled maps. At any rate, I'll test some things out, since it seems largely unknown what th
What do these do, exactly? I havn't tested them myself (And I couldn't find if anything else had been posted on the matter) but I was thinking of trying them out, to see what they do. How's about any of you folks?
There is a Starship Troopers mod going for Star Wars Empire at War, which has plenty of bug 'Ships'. I think it could work fairly well.
But who's to say that your empire wouldn't happen on one during it's cycle as a white hole, and it happens to last through the conflict? Or some such? I like the idea, at any rate. Just because it's not fully established in science doesn't mean we shouldn't use it, eh?
The place you need to be saving your mods (If I understand that as the problem, pardon if I'm mistaken) is thus; C:\Users\(Username)\AppData\Local\Ironclad Games\Sins of a Solar Empire\Mods If you can't see the AppData, you need to make it so the folders aren't hidden... I forget exactly how this is done, but I'm sure someone will offer aid in that regard, should it be needed; otherwise I'll look into it later today when I can.
And, just for the record, I think the 'Weight' would be how much of a chance the unit has to spawn. Higher weight, higher chance.
Thank you for the reply, XselenS. My worse problem, the crashing, seems to have been fixed by my updating from 1.12 to 1.13... for the most part. I still crash if I enter a game, then either exit and start a new one or load another one. Still, that is easily bypassed. As for the other problem, it's nothing to do with Sins itself, or options on my part; http://www.gamingsteve.com/images/2008/02/sins_of_a_solar_empire_3.jpg In the Empire window, the little colored blocks that re
He means the process of creating an in-depth character, from the sounds of it.
Hm, having a problem... not sure what happened, but I started my usual map (A modified version of the Huge Multistar) and, zooming out from my Desert Home after doing a bit of ship construction, the game stopped. No minidump, just crashed. If anybody could link me the 1.1x developers version, if that exists, then I'll see if I can find what the problem is. It happened twice in a row... might have something to do with starting the construction on ships? I was playing as Advent both tim
Starwarrior, please be more descriptive in your responses; you did what, exactly? It will help discern what the problem is.
In other news (Since this was a double post) I am very much looking forward to version 2.0 and 2.5

Well, really, all the races have it pretty bad when it comes down to it, but I see your point. I wouldn't be surprised if, say, in a patch or some such, they added some alien (Thus incomprehensible) swears to the Vasari. It'd be entertaining, at any rate.
Go to the 'Sound' folder and remove 'CapitalShip_TechSiege_OnAttackIssueOrdered_0' for a quick fix. I'm not sure if you'll need to change any game data beyond that, but regardless, you'll be unable to play online after removing the sound file (Unless other folks happen to have removed it, and just that.) Either way, I would reccomend simply moving it, or copy+paste, to someplace else as opposed to deleting it outright.
There's already a topic on the subject ( https://forums.sinsofasolarempire.com/337558 ) but as has been stated, it's likely it would have to wait quite a while what with the coming of SC2.
To make maps for 7DS 2.0, I recommend Galaxy Forge 1.0 using the GalaxyScenarioDef file that will be included with 7DS 2.0 for massive customizability of your maps with easy fleet/structure deployment, 4 racial militias, heavy patrols, and heavily colonized militia strongholds.
7DS Just broke another zipper.
How's about some sort of 'Assault' styled map? IE, disable the ability to build planetary seige weapons, and make one capturable by a certain unit placed in the middle of a map. Kinda basic, but I haven't the time to expand on the idea at the moment, perhaps later when I return.
I believe several mods have it, but it doesn't work properly; ie, they won't auto-target the strike craft if they are on targeting something else. So I've heard, at least.
