NO, I mean Red Alert 3. Go to online now, it is completely dead.
Well, you get the 'complete' game, but my understanding is if you want to play as a different race, you have to buy the other game releases. Bad move, IMO, unless they're releasing each version for around a third the cost of a 'normal' single title.
Not true, you only get a single play campaign for each faction for each package. In multiplayer, you can play all three races. By t
Come on guys, he deserves more Karmas. ;)
There will be three micro-expansions total, and there would be a retail pack consisted of all of micro-expansions. But it would be really, really take some time (probably next year's Christmas?)
By the way guys, I see some people are mentioning real-war situations here, let me contribute.... First of all, the reason those heavy cruisers and battleships got destroyed fairly easily in WWII is because it was the transaction to modern warfare (Air force dominant) and those big ships were the victioms of the change. In fact, they were useful in WWI where there was little or no airforce existed to kill the battleships. In the battleship vs. battleship battles
Thanks for all the replies, guys. I think about this whole issue again, and this is my several newly discovered points on this issue. 1) The number of capital ships are always small in the first place. In current system, it is virtually impossible to build a multiple cap ships unless you completely give up your main forces (frigates, cruisers) and effiency. 2) This means that capital ships are very valuable targets all the time, always cau
Thanks for the effort!
Well, this game is not really suitable for online gaming in the first place...... .....too bad online is still better than beating a bunch of AIs.
I'll give you that the AI isn't all that smart, and maybe can't be used in a discussion of balance in regards to multi-player games. Two totally different techniques. But, that being the case, what are you doing building caps ? In an MP game, you don't really have the time or resources to build more then one. Efficiency rules the day in MP, and that means HC's and frigates. in a DPS vs Cost ratio, caps blow chunks
Dunno what you're doing, but I'm not losing caps in late game battles, and I usually play against 4+ hard AI's. And I use caps as the center of all my fleets. Marzas usually, especially since 1.09 .. You can't charge a cap into the face of 70+ ships and expect a different outcome. It has to have some type of support, and I'm not talking about HC's. I use Hoshikos rather than Dunovs since shields don't help all that much against phase missiles... A high level Kol/Marza
Frogboy, just a question. Can we play online custom game with a mod? Many of us are confusing about this issue.
/Procumbo That's another way to fix them... but it may make capital ships too strong since decreasing the cost does not only mean that it got a bit tougher. <a id="ctl00__Content__RepeaterReplies_ctl12__LinkUser" class="hand" title="Click user name to view more options." onclick="Sd.Menus.showMenu('user
I believe high level KOL actually has 8000ish total hp (including shields) and exceeds beyond 10000 at level 10. I am asking about 2000~3000 total hp increase for high level cap ships, and it is not unreasonable?
No, Capital ships are not good for the money (that's the whole issue why making the capital ships more than two is really bad idea.) For the same money for the capital ships (invest for cap ship slot + each ship's cost,) you can make a bunch of good frigates and cruisers which probably outperforms in every way other than abilities (even with disregarding the slot research cost, for the cost of one level 1 capital ships, you can make about 6~7 heavy cruisers and they will eat an alone low leve
Bring lots of capital ships,
You know you lose if you do that. XD What's the point of having many capital ships so your army is crippled compared to your opponent's effective frigates + HC group? The time and the effort to level up the capital ship is too great to lose that easily. Yes, I may spam Observer's repair or Dunov's shield recharge, but in the end most capitals just do not endure enough to change the late
Well, suppose you have late game, and you have a one or a couple of high level cap ships, (lvl 6+) with all of the nice abilities. The problem is, you can't use them; the moment you bring your cap ships into the battle, they got insta-gibbed by insane firepower. Let's a bit honest; how does long your typical lvl 6+ ship survive against 50+ LRMs, 20+ HCs, and now hordes of bombers in 1.09/1.1? It does not take that much good micro to click the capi
It's funny that one side all but calls the devs liars and that they obviously don't know their own product...until they agreed with them...then all is suddenly hunky dorey.
Well, I don't. It was all about the graph showing that AI is definitely getting resource boost, and dev's saying does not change anything about my thought. I never said dev's right because now they are saying that AI indeed gets 50% resource boost. As I said, as a one who did som
For the time being having two level 6 cap ships, you should have all of support/tactical units and a lot of heavy cruisers.
Well, this shouldn't be entertaining at all, since this vicious circle has always happened in any RTS forum... ------Teh vicious circle----- an incident happens, followed by reports, reporter getting bashed by people who just don't bother to try themselves, do not trust reliable proofs, eventually fool themselves, forget about this incident.... and do the same thing again in the next incident. -------------------------------------------- You know
...we really need dev's word I guess. I assume that they are already looking for this issue.
For some reason, "[img]" does not work on these pictures. You know, please don't bother write like this if you just decide to not even try to see the pictures. That's really -I am serious now, no more jokes for you- ignorant in extreme. -wnmnkh- Edit : Of course, the very first thing I've done after confirming on the graph was look through the reference files provided by Ironclad, but this seems hardcoded.
Ah, FoePa, seem you have not read anything I wrote yet. I'd suggest you read first. At very second of beginning of the game the credit rate gaining from Hard AI is 15, not 10 as us human players (unfair is 20, while normal is 10) Which effectively means Hard AI gets 1.5x resource rate compared to normal AI and human players, while Unfair AI gains 2x.
If by 'more players' you mean you and the topic creator, then yes.Unfortunately, Annatar, Kitkun and the official developer word disagrees with you. As for the suggestion to read more carefully, here's a suggestion for you. Don't post things as fact when you have zilch to back it up with.
Sometimes I wonder how people can be ignorant like this.... There are already proofs around here. You merely decide to not read them and be stupid ;)
whoops. it is 3. not 4....
