Well, certainly dev do not ignore such thread like this, but whether they are willing to implement them is completely another question.
If they ever put such clues in the game code, the best place would be the codes for phase inhibitor, which its origin never explained fully (Vasari just merely copied them using nano technology, TEC took from Vasari for their use, Advent steals from TEC for their use as well.)

They indeed tried to fix the lrm problems by making the carriers strong, and then here comes flak, light frigates, etc... I think at this point, other than defenses too strong and certain capital ships too weak, the game itself is pretty balanced if we consider the complex elements of the game. It is no doubt that developers took so much time fixing balance issues (I almost believe something was going on IC.), but they were eventually fixed, at least roughly.

Hello AOK, I thought you disappeared into abyss (well, I was also disappeared into abyss until Rebellion beta came out.) I highly doubt that this game, which has so many complex, deep techs and amount of ships and stuffs, will be ever roughly balanced. At level 1 It does 200 + 10% of total hp of the target. At level 2 500 + 20% of total hp of the target. At level 3 800 + 30% of total hp of the target. Of course, the damage is migrated and reduced by armour. <

Let's see, apporx the new nerf gives about 4 more sec to react, which really does not make that much difference. But the thanks god, they got it right about visual nerf.
Something shield mitigation is broken. If you see the codes, the firing rate difference is only 0.5 sec. (illum 6.5, assault 6.0). From the replay, I think advent's shield mitigation is not working right. Or, I also suspect that "2.5" duration sec may affect the overall damage as well, or can be both. As I said again and again for a long time, illum is overpowered and the cost of illum needs to be increased a lot. I've been talking
They are good for focusing fire on caps.... As transitive said, use designated target on enemy cap, order your fleet to attack it and it will be gone rather quick.

It is indeed oversimplification, but I think it would be helpful. The variables are: # of affected ships, affected ships' cost/ , unkeep rate, total credit&resource income, cost of upgrade, the affected value from upgrades. At most the variable should be more or less than 10. Hmmm....... Even with oversimplifcation this would be quite a bit pain..
Agent, can you either PM me or post that replay (I will keep privacy if needed)? I really want to see what the **** was going on that battle. I think I need to see them first before making any further comments.
