From what i've seen its not entirely OP imo. The amount of tactical slots + resources + time it takes for RA to be really effective is time for you to build a larger fleet. (And its really annoying gathering up all the ships as they come in > Maybe I'm wrong here as well, but doesnt RA only give light carriers/figates? Not exactly Heavy Cruisers/Capital Ships you could theorictally have in place of the resource cost of those phase gates.
That SinsPLus mod may help by adding more planet styles for you to choose, and makeing Gas planets colonizable.
I just thought there was over 1000 at least. Never looked into it, sounds like a great idea though keep goin! :)

Starcraft was original for its time as far as PC Strategy Games were. I lack the technical know how for modding, but maybe this will sparks someones intrest. Take alook at the Homeworld 2 captials/ destroyers i think they would look awesome in game. Might be pretty easy to copy/paste their poly files too. Just some reccomendations.

didnt read the whole thread, but i was siftin through the manual and found this little tid bit that I thought justifies their crappy appearence (remeber TEC is a bunch of traders throwing guns on their ships) : " Originally designed for clearing paths through, dense, metal-rich astroid fields." basicly it used to be an Icebreaker Ship (In space) before the fighting started. and they threw some cannons on it
also noticed some other bugs, Loaded an autosave that occured in CInematic Mode: On and now its stuck in Cinematic mode no matter what. for that map

Not 100% yet, but I think loading saved games reset the Game Rules and allowed a CPU ally to change teams. Set up was: Large Random Map 2v2v2v2 all on normal difficulty, normal settings, Teams LOCKED Saved game about and hour and half in, left, came back next day, and before i know it my computer ally, had allied with the surrounding computers and refused to "Attack his allies". Anyone else notice this?
