Hack, I was told you are trying to organize a group of players so we can lobby for MP improvements. How do I join this organization?
Sort of - I'm campaigning for greater transparency for the networking issues so 1) User's can't blame ICO for their stuff ups (i.e. ICO is offline when they actually have a networking issue to resolve on their end). They would know the ICO status from the status web page 2) The user's can resolve their issues with better er
I've been playing every night for the past week since i bought sins, and as many times as i checked ironclaid online, i still don't see any servers. but i'm having a great time with single player
There are no servers per se - Ironclad Online (ICO) is the lobby for meeting people and setting up games. From there, once the game starts all the host does is synchronise the game - all networking is Peer to Peer..
Dude, that's *EXACTLY* the way
The game I hosted worked for me fine (I don't use alloy in case you had missed it :D)
Tyr break ICO!!!
Turn off alloy and go back to 1.05 hosting Just setup router properly!!! I got heaps of MDs - some with Tyr!!!
Maybe they said that beta 2 will be out next week and the guy got it wrong??? :D
If you pre-order online, you were able to join the beta. Not sure if this is still the case or not, buy FYI...
No - but since 1.1, the carriers have been made stronger, hold more squads and fighters are now more effective vs LRM
Hosting the Game – I can and do host games at ICO using alloy with little problem. When running the test it says that my IP is hidden. I’ve tried opening TCP ports 6000-7000 with no success. My guess is that it is trying to ping/access my LAN IP rather than the router IP. I would prefer to host the game on one of my systems rather than use alloy. One of the best examples of this is how Supreme Commander implemented their game hosting. A player joining enters my router IP an
1) Winning IS fun 2) Playing a challenging game that you lose is ALSO fun!!!
Oh crap....
Everyone must always have an enemy to fight, otherwise the game ends. If teams are unlocked, then they must betray you to fight you...
I'd wait it out - that would be "sound logic"!!! :D
So what is this guys name???
I know we're having a good time here!
Woot - party @ Brad's place!!!

Try this -adapt as required https://forums.sinsofasolarempire.com/337545/get;2035180 If this is no good, contact support (ironclad, not stardock)
Here is a link to how I managed to fix my issues with 1.1X after upgrading from 1.05 https://forums.sinsofasolarempire.com/337545/get;2035180
I have a 3Ghz dual core, Geforce 6800, 2Gigs of RAM and I've never had any slow-downs except at the very beginning of a map for a few seconds.
That is often the case in MP while other players machines sync up/finish loading
But are there really versions of this game hacked to cheat?
The game would crash surely if they were cheating as it simulates the same thing on ALL machines. So them buying $10K of ships would not work on your machine which thinks they only have $3K and you would be out of sync. So who is this person you are playing? It is very possible that you are playing one of the best players going around under a Smurf account.... A few of the original better player
Check what version of Sins you are running - it needs to be 1.12. Also make sure you have the ports listed in your user.setting file open - I had to open port 7000 on my firewall when I updated from 1.05 to 1.11...
Well, I can agree somewhat on having the status page. However, it's only recently that they've been working on a new ICO version and hardware upgrades and before ~1.1 I can't recall ICO being down for months at a time. If they forsee ICO being wobbly for some length of time, I can see having a status page - but it's rather redundant when it becomes always-on again.
True, except it means people can't blame ICO for their connection issues if they can see that ICO is up an
Glad someone was able to pick it!!!
Try this 1) Open Task Manager and get the Sins process ID (you may need to add the column as it often isn't on by default) 2) get a comand window and have "netstat -aon | more" ready to go (the pipe to more allows you to see a screen at a time) 3) Alt-tab back to Sins and select connect to ICO 4) Quickly rush back to the cmd promt and hit enter. Look for the process ID of Sins in the list. You may need to repeat this a few times if timing is off
What version are you running? Have you been onto ICO yet at all? If you are 1.12 and have not, then the issue is probably a networking one on your end - check your firewall isn't blocking the Sins required ports
