The biggest problem with an EMP attack is actually getting the nuke in the right spot. If it was an ICBM, the nation that launched it would almost certainly have a large number of incoming ICBMs about to wipe out its infrastructure and military. Thus, an ICBM probably wouldn't be launched. If it or they were TBMs like scud missiles, it/they would be shot down. At least it would be based on how our missile defense system has been advertised. From what

First, I want to make sure it is known that I believe that global warming has been occuring, and that greenhouse gases affect global warming. However, I have yet to have anything refute the theory that sunspots cause more of global temperatures than greenhouse gases, and it seems more believable to me. First, the Sun is more likely to determine Earth's temperature than we are, for obvious reasons. I will not believe anything from someone who says otherwise. Secondly, t

You may need to use books or something else to keep the laptop in the air, because usually the fans are put on the bottom of the laptop. This means that unless it is floating in midair, at least some of the vents will always be useless.[e digicons]>_>[/e] I didn't learn that for a long time, and kept wondering why the laptop would just shut off with higher performance games. Now it can run many of them with maximum graphics.

What I would do with the cloak is give legendary ships, structures, some normal ships, and especially planets 2 detection radii. The outer radius would mean the cloaked ship is detected, but it wouldn't be attackable yet nor would it be identified. Any unidentified but detected ship would have an icon where the ship was present. The inner radius would mean the cloak is currently useless for the user. The planet bonus would mean that you would at least always know if cl
Capital Ships Borg Cube (done) Tactical Cube (not done yet) Command Cube ?? (not done yet) 2 more ships perhaps? Open to suggestions ^^
I recommend the Borg ship used by Lore in TNG, and either the Advanced Sphere (the giant one) or the Diamond. For frigates, I would do mainly heavily modified models of Delta Quadrant ships.
For my suggestion I would say that between the armada games and legacy t

First I want to state that if you do not want a campaign, please don't simply say that you don't play them so we don't need them. I think that a SoaSE Campaign needs to be dynamic. In other words, each mission would often have entirely different events happen when you played it. For instance, the first mission for TEC may have you controlling an outpost with 3 worlds when the Vasari attack. A capital ship bombards your planet, and rather than accept the damage, you s
I dont know how to include the Borg in the game without ruining the balance of the game for the other factions, or without making the borg look totally stupid by equalizing them like they did in armada, and SFC3.
I have heard a lot of comments about the borg in this forum, and it sounds like most people (including me) want them to be included. So, I have a few points on this to make, as well as points on some other topics, like pirates and Federation ships. I have a lot

I usually build a fleet of capital ships first, then build heavy cruisers and light carriers to support them. Sometimes I will also get the flak frigates to support them, since they are the only ship other than fighters that can kill fighters. The heavy cruisers are pretty dangerous to smaller ships, and light carriers give a speed advantage, since capital ships and cruisers aren't the fastest ships whereas fighters can outrun anything. However, I have never played against humans.
I've never attacked the pirate base, but from the number of pirate ships there it looks like it would be hard to conquer. Do you get anything for taking the pirate base? Once defeated do they disappear for good or pop up again later?
Pirate bases can badly damage a trio of, say, level 6 capital ships, but yous simply pull them back when they get damaged, then come back once they repair. Or you just send in more capital ships or send in an actual fleet. The bases are sur

One other thing...
Missles: medium/heavy weapon, tracking ensures you never miss and you can fire on the move but low DPS due to volleys.
Missiles would be the most powerful weapon, but certain defenses, like electromagnetic defenses or point defense (we have developed point defense lasers nowadays, not to mention a large variety of missiles and guns for point defense), would be able to shoot down most missiles with no problems.

This might be off topic, but...
Beams: heavy weapon, require you to stay still when fireing and have low accuracy against moveing targets but do tremedous damage.
Beams travel the speed of light, and even nowadays we can get pinpoint targeting on fast moving ships. In the space age, there is no way a beam could ever miss anything. However, a beam probably wouldn't be too powerful, since it is reflected light, rather than a missile filled with high explos

The easiest way by far to outbid someone is to put bids on two people, both higher than your own, and make sure they stay above your own.

Were your capital ships experienced? If not, you should get the basic training or whatever lets you get an extra training, then train all of them to level 4. I have had my experienced capital ships from the beginning of the game wipe out late-game pirate fleets. Then again, I have never seen 50 corsairs in one spot, even at pirate bases. At any rate, I think corsairs are damaged most by lasers, which cobalt frigates use. However, I have used 5 capital ships all by th
