I predict it will suck mutiplayer just as much it does now, with balance changes which remove all ships but scouts, give scouts 1 hitpoint ablity to destroy planets from there home system which cost nothing and which are builty instantly and take no pop. Kinda same play we have now.... except games will be won or lost in mintues rather then hours.
Right 1.Half of what you just called tactics I call working around bugs. 2.Retreating ships from big battles is next to impossible due to the worst AI I have ever seen in a game.. ships run forwards and ram enemy ships instead of turning around.. capships whcih stand there unable to workout where to go for 10-20 seconds at the gravity well instead of jumping to saftey. maybe its JUST the TEC ships which I mostly play that seem to do this all the time.. but retreating a

A game which wanted to get rid of micro so it would be more open to casual players but which makes the average game take 10 times longer then any other RTS around infact even longer thrn Turn based ones like moo2 or Civilization. So that the casual players that were spose to play it dont ever have
Actually TECS real problem isnt weak caps. Majority of the caps are GOOD they have higher armor then the other races so they default out to ABOUT even due to reduced damage shield/health regen. But early on.. they take ALOT longer to clear a system.. an example Advent and Vasari colonly caps can kill pirates faster then a TEC KHOL. ..... Better econ..... slower start....

Pcs have almost always had better hardware then other systems... the problem ISNT with the hardware its with the OS. Lets drop the memory and performence decreases from the OS directly and move onto something more important. Well if you make the mines strike/bomber class then you could use abilities that only work agasint them. This would actually be worthwhile because flak frigates would have another use as mine cleaners.
heavy fighters DOES increase damage done by fighters and bombers it also makes them ALOT harder to kill. A level 3 sova with 2 in heavy fighters heals its bomber squad faster then a single anti fighter/bomber frigate can damage it.
ITs actually a TEC "stealth" ship. IT cant be detected on radar or in phasejump and can drop mines which also cant be detected on radar(both are visualy spotable)
I am wondering if anyone likes the design so far.. and if so what race they think it belongs too. It has problems with the texture like the engines which I am aware of, and it hasnt got any extras modeled for it yet like guns and turrets. I am kinda iffy on if I should bother finishing it so I am wondering what other people think.
Well Happy They have patched the Minidump problem, I have played over 30 games online and lots of singleplayergames and only ever experianced it once. I know some people experiance it alot. As for the games being too long, I have to agree most of the time playing sins is spent just sitting there waiting for resources or ships to get to where they are going.

ive done that with my starting world when I was trying to go all capships and get rid of my frigate yard
strctures are one of the things that they seem to do the highest damage to. the lasers seem to do more damage to seige frigates.... I am wondering if the game splits damage into pulses so that if it does 45 damage from its banks and it fires 6 laser pulses if its 40/6 which would explain why it seems to do less damage... because agasint armored targets it actually is due to armor reduction.

Had the same problem I have also had ships told to jump out turn around completely and head STRAIGHT for the enemy fleet.. and when its a capship it can cost you the game. Pathfinding needs some extra work and or they need to make ships turn/accelerate quickly when they are given an order to move and they find themselves "traped"
Annatar I know WHAT it shows its the DAMAGE its doing thats diffrent Try it the Gauss and Missiles DO more damage then the lasers.
It doesnt add up. Dunov has 2 laserbanks and they do over double the damage of the missile and guass which is 1 bank. So the lasers should STILL do more damage.

I am not sure if anyone else has noticed but ship damage for capitalships seems wrong. Take the Dunlov, its missile and gauss do under half the damage of the lasers(apparently) Yet the dunlovs missiles and gauss agasint otherships DO ALOT more damage then the lasers do. its EXTREMLY noticeable once they turn to broadside with there lasers instead of using rockets gauss they end up doing less damage. Right you guys GO look at bombers LOOK AT WHAT THE TOOLTIP SAYS STRONG AGASINT BUILDINGS AND CAPSHIPS. you people are aruging that a SUpportship SHOULD defeat 2 capship killers. BTW I just realised one of my carriers had to be level 5 because it had 4 bombers( I thought they got 4 at level 4) Which means one was equal level to the Progenitor.. which means it defeated 2 caps one of equal level and did so without using any of its own fighters/bombers.
