Why on earth goto all the trouble of inventing a metal that gets harder the hotter it gets, it ends up getting so hard that it would shatter, further more.. even if it didnt shatter, the atoms themselves would be so close to each other and full of so much energy when hit they would destroy each other and be the same as an antimatter explosion. unless its a massive map. going econimics instead of mass rush to lrms for tec will get you DEAD DEAD DEAD. Vasari have the best anti illum spam in game. Vaulk dreadnaughts.. 2 of these with a planet with a few regen bays and a few missiles can take on and destroy 20-40 illums depending on there level thanks to the missile barrage ability.. at level 5 it does 600 damage to about 6 targets and has a very quick recast delay and with full antimatter can be cast 4
why convert a RTS/Turnbased Spacesimulator into a RTS simulator? considering the fact that it has alot of stuff sins lacks... ability to design and build diffrent ships.. and a far larger techtree... of course.. if these things were added :) it would be perfect...

You know... just a few ideas kicking around... What if defences got a boost, siege frigates were given a long range (so they can attack OUTSIDE the range) of the point defences. It would do great damages to structures but not much else.. its a gun designed for hurting targets that dont move. Also give a reason for building them.. most people most games dont.. they just use there starting colonly cap... or even dont bother.. they go from system to system defeat
the fact that if you look at the caps armor health shields and damages for each race.. the COMBAT caps bring more default firepower to the table... except matched agasint another races cap "colonly" which is surposed to be the weakest in firepower it gets defeated. a caps after a jump quite often end up with NO antimatter.....why should the khol be required to expand antimatter to be an effective unit when vs other units which DONT need to? Caps dont do much damage..
Actually.... the Khol is a pure damage mitigation machine.. it doesnt do much damage at all.. infact all the Tec caps are weak in firepower, with the other races comming off better. If neither use special abilities a level 1 Progenator defeats a level 1 khol in combat. If both use special abilities a Vassari Colonly cap"name escapes me currntly" defeats a khol because of nanite disaasember. Flak frigates were overpowered because how damn hard they were to kill by all unit types. Not because of there damage, now SC are more numerous there had there damage reduced too. Damage should be put back up to what it was, health reduced as it has been to say 33% orginal values. Now I know what your saying.. too weak? Give flak an aura which gives fighters/bombers a 25% chance to miss while flying through it.... after all getting shot at with explosions all
maybe.... However I have noticed damage in SINS doesnt quite follow this. and ships that have HIGH damage for a bank but which fire vollies seem to actually have the damage devided by the volly before armor takes into effect. The Dunlov missile is a good example of this.. its spose to do crap damage compared to the dunlov laserbanks.. but agasint any armored targets the missile does more damage. It only fires like 1 missile per cycle.
Has anyone actually USED the tec scout building bomb. I have It does about 50 damage despite what it says it does. 30 tec scouts bombing a single research station DONT destroy it. I was losing to illum spam. Decided to try to take out his stations behind his lines to stop his ablity to spam them.
All this math means nothing for a very simple reason. Any spam wars with LRMS or ILLUMS is generaly backup with the other guys respective capitalship. Due to shield mitigation and general toughness of caps focusing on the otherguys lrms or illums while he focuses on your capital means you lose your capital while theres stays and supports the fleet. Two equal fleets and the guy who didnt focus on the other guys cap loses. With that in mind c

Well. Look at Spartans of Ancient greece. Everyone agrees pedophiles are bad and sinful correct? Giant domes would also have a greater impact on the enviroment.... however if you designed it of a composite material that included solarcells etc, and made it airtight you could actually trap all human emissions inside it and deal with them before there ever released into the greater enviromen
Astax we are going for gameplay not realism... Space A place where alot of micrometorrites are traving at faster then half the speed of light. Where any kind of intersteller ship will need have a defence agasint hypervelocity mass projectiles but where TEC autocannons can harm otherships. So lets not start talking about realism here.....

a simple fix would be to just make each unit of the same type thats built COST 1% or so extra then the last. Infact, if this was added the whole current expense system could be droped. Instead of researching an ability to have more ships, your limited by cost. So its actually BETTER for you to research new ship plans and build those and have a mixed fleet then to spam a specific unit. It also has the added benifit of not making a player unable to rebuild a fleet if
PurplePaladin good idea I was thinking a change could be that planets can be given some defences(that take up logistal cap that the enemy has to actually build bombardment ships(and improve there damage back to a reasonbly good level) to take out a fully developed terran planet. Instead of just parking there starting colonly cap there for 10 mintues after massing a single type of unit that either destroyed your fleet or chased it away.
