not sure about the whole graphical thing, except maybe turn down some graphics settings, on all low the effect isn't that "pretty". You could use the empire tree to target, but that's a little tricky also

mm. Mines. star bases. they do some nasty things to carriers. if you force him to jump out all his carriers as his lure, plant some mines along the jump arc, fortify, wait for him to come back. :) if TEC, build starbase as close to edge as possible and detonate if they come back. any way you hack it, build starbases. I think everyone really needs to step back and seriously think about the current condition with strikecraft. Are they overpowered? i would agree. but not really very much. spam your own fighters, and then when all his are gone, run your ships over his carriers. And if he runs, so what? you'll have hordes of fighters ready again because they *gasp* rebuilt instantly, right? I've observed over the course of playing that vasari gain a huge advantage on large maps, especially single star ones. this is because of their phase stabilizing abilities. Now, i am NOT going to propose that phase nodes be nerfed. this is the vasari's key advantage, and very important to their ability to defend. what i would think would be kinda interesting is if TEC and advent reverse engineered their own, low tech phase stabilizer nodes(vasari did the same with pji's) obviously these

Two Halcyon's with maxxed TK push + hordes of strike craft around them = dead graphics card, seriously, i had a fleet with about 200 strikecraft (not squadrons) in it, and one enemy advent carrier blew half of them up in a very short amount of time. Fortuneately said fleet hosting 200 strikecraft was 16 capships :)
