Looks really cool, but the inclusion of surface battles doesn't appeal to me. I wouldn't want to spend the time placing structures on the surface then assaulting the surface with ground troops--I like Sins' space-only focus. Still, it seems like it's worth a try. I'll keep reading into it and keep an open mind about it.

If I can kill someone will a gun, why do I need a tank? If I can kill them with a tank, why use a nuke? It is this reason you probably saw this. That plus the fact that you engage in combat so soon that you don't have time to research HCs and support etc... before you engage. If you play with the best players a

Your suggestion for pirates to conduct mayhem than rather large strikes is a good idea. What if pirates could appear suddenly in gravity wells like the Insurgency research can--small strikes to wreak havoc where players aren't expecting them. If pirates enter a gravity well in this way, they would prioritize destruction of trade ports, refineries, and extractors first rather than military structures or research labs (leave that to the big guns of the mercs). <p

The cost to downgrade fleet supply should be minimal, like one-tenth of the cost to have upgraded that level. But Sawakaki offers a good point. To return to the fleet supply level that you downgraded from, the cost should increase by 25% or something like that. Rez's point also makes sense, that logically re-upgrading should be cheaper. But if the developers wanted fleet supply to be a choice of impact in the game, I feel the decisions to downgrade and

I've always been critical of multiplayer without ever having played a single game, so I decided it was time to educate myself and give it a go. I must say, multiplayer turned out to be what I feared it to be: a race to kill other players using the same combination of units. For Advent, that is Progenitor mothership with Illuminators and Drone Hosts; for TEC, Marza and LOTS of LRMs; Vasari, colony cap ship (I don't know the names of any of the Vasari caps) and LOTS

I would like the AI in Entrenchment to know what it takes to destroy an enemy starbase. If you place a well-upgraded starbase in a gravity well with neutral extractors, the AI becomes obsessed with taking it down, except it doesn't know how to. The AI always attacks with too small a force and I tire of seeing the AI throw away fleet after fleet without making any progress. It really takes much of the challenge out of the game. EDIT: Spelling.

Gikane, I like the idea of being able to become an "ally" (to whatever extent you could consider pirates an ally). I believe a lot of possibilities could open up if pirates were no longer called pirates and simply called "Mercenaries." I would get rid of the bidding wars as they are right now. You should also be able to give the mercenaries orders like you can AI allies, though with a price of course. Opponents can then bid against the order to convince the

I will agree with TheRezonator, the fastest way for me is to look at the empire tree where your squads are, then hold ALT and select a bomber from the empire tree (left click, any one will do). This will select all bombers in the region. Then hold SHIFT and ALT + left click again on fighters to select all bombers and fighters in the region. Sorry, Sawakaki, I do not recommend binding strikecraft to the number keys. Reserve your numbers for you

4) Bombing planets may be their only purpose, but it is a very dangerous and threatening purpose. There's a reaosn why such fragile ships require 14 supply each. Wiping out a player's planet (providing it's developed) is an epic loss in terms of both resources and time. While capital ships can perform this role, they are limited in availability and may need to be elsewhere for fleet support. Having a handful of siege frigates nearby to wreck enemy planets is a great as

I feel like I would have to create a custom map to achieve these, because without military research, you are stuck with Capital ships and light frigates, and without civilian research you can't colonize volcanic and ice planets.

Quick question: For the achievement where you are only allowed to build capital ships, are you not allowed to build scouts? How do you scout then?
