I can confirm that since beta 4 release there is an issue with autocasting... which also causes AI to fail at going for extractors...

some really great ideas. It also shows what could be done to stop the players insensibility while facing pirates at the currrent state of the game. Some of them are similar to what I thought could be done. I would even vote for pirates being able to expand and build new bases instead of dumb chaos raids. Yet so far I haven't heard a word or comment from any dev admitting that pirates need somewhat to be fixed.
What happens is I use up all resources and money to outbid
Cause that's exactly what you shouldn't do. Here is what I do: I place 250 on just one of them. He places 500 on me. I place 750... and so on until he staggers. That way I have a 75% percent chance of not being raided. Works for me... that's all I can say.

I understand you are voting for more realistic AI behaviour. Yet by definition it's only a bug if it's not intended. As I said, I agree, that pirates are still not right in recent state, but it looks like the devs tried to find quick work arounds to some pirate issues and will hopefully come up with better solutions soon... Trust me, if you do as I told, only place minimum amounts of bounty on a single opponent at a time the AI will NOT gang up on you... just for those having trouble.
"Diplomacy" is already going in a good direction but it did not include a solution for the pirtate-issue. What needs to be done, in order to satisfy me and have a decent game become epic and my all-time-favourite: Call the next addon "Age of Privateers" or just "Privateers" and introduce the pirates as individual faction with "bounty" as only diplomatic option when dealing with them. Have them start from their well

You need to look at it differently to be able to understand the intention: At current settings, it is either you or one of the AI being raided. Period. Since, as you stated correctly, you HAVE to place bounty anyway in order to avoid being targeted, it is up to you to choose which of the AI players you would like to get it. If the human player ends up being raided, in the end it doesn't really matter where it came from. Am I right? Or pl

I read through this whole thread and found it very interesting to read about the different opinions. I think pirates is a sreious matter. I must agree with those that demand a better (yes, one could call it more "realistic") pirate behaviour, rather than just raising their stats. Their behaviour within gravity wells has already greatly improved, as they fan out. Heavies attack defensive structures, lights hunt down trade ships, sieges seek ways to bombard planets. Yet the devs seem no

I have been noticing this too. And it pissed me off that if I placed bits of bounty on each AI they would automatically outbid me together. Having given it some thought, I think this is intended on higher diffculty levels. Spraying bits of bounty in FFA games was always an easy way to avoid pirates. In a 3 player FFA for example you could place 250 on each of your opponents and watch them outbid each other. Now, you end up with 500 on your head. This seems unfair b

I totally agree with SwerydAss. I was going to adress exactly the same issue. so here is my opionion: I would have appreciated the devs to add an "accept"-button, rather than "reject". I end up rejecting far more missions for I probably am a more defensive player. Having to reject EVERY mission you don't want to take on is really annoying as they come in constantly EVERY 5 minutes from EVERY AI-player. As a result you loose focus on the game-action. Or what's the deal w

The only thing that worked for me after all, was installing an older version of impulse with the install-programm that came with my gc2 cd. I was very lucky to have it. Otherwise I would have jumped out the window by now. This porves that there IS some compatibility problem with the newer install versions of impulse. Better check on that. :)

Installed the game. In Launcher pressed update. Logged on. Being directed to the download button. When pressed it sais "The file you are looking for is not available" (1.05). Launching the impulse_setup.exe I get the following message: This product needs at least Internet Explorer 7.0. Setup cannot continue. I have the latest version of IE7.0 and Netframe2.0 installed. It's driving me crazy for I cannot update any of my stardock/impulse games. Anyone please help!
