Admittedly, most people here have zero background in military tactics. Our experience is with games alone, so a "2-3 default pattern" doesn't make sense to us. You'll have to explain what you mean. That said, I do know there is a stark difference between real-life military tactics and military tactics in a game. A chessmaster doesn't have the training or experience to become a military officer, just as a military office
I do know most- I studied strategy for 16 years. The issue with thecap ship sounds simple, give it a 2-3 default pattern for a convoy, and make sure that they don't enter into a gravity well without skirmishers within that convoy and a second one tagging with a radius of the main convoy- best that second floater group operating within that main convoy be carriers. This is done with geometrical formating- of how
I haven't gotten Entrenchment yet, waiting for a reply to my question post on that before I go in- however, you cannot look at a campaign on the basis of start to complete, but rather, of testing your manueverings on internal-external lines- how defense operates in a dynamism, manuever capabilites, how to manage your convoy formation (I really wish there was formats where you could choose how fleets moved together- like a honey combpattern with c
Chuck Norris can colonize stars. Gravity wells are not actually caused by gravity. The problem with the starbases are the starbases themselves. Remove the starbases from Entrenchment and you'll have one hell of a game. Making the starbases "togglelable" (is that even a word?) would be nice and not too difficult for the devs. We can already toggle on/off the pirates, why not starbases. I love Entrenchment but the AI cant beat the starbases and they also make games last a lot loooooonger; and they lasted long enough in vanilla.</
Why dont you ask someone you know (father/sister/friend...) if they could buy it for you and you pay them back in cash.
Does the AI ever build starbases at stars? No!
Savyg, if you are a big fan of Generals, than you are missing on one hell of a game. Act of War is far superior to Generals in every way. Unless spamming tanks and rushing the enemy is your thing. If that is what you like to do, then dont touch Act of War. In AoW, you cant spam tanks, and you REALLY need a balance
Ok, heres the easiest starbase kill ever: Vasari: add 318 bomber squadrons, 38 fighter squadrons, full health, Advent starbaseat highest defence upgrade. Stir, and you get a wiped out enemy planet, in a matter of seconds. If anyone has any comments, post them now. Also, post any other amazing or easy starbase kills.
[e digicons]-_-[/e]
The reason Vasari starbases are "more powerful" is because their ability to move is "free". You dont have to do any research to get it. Thats a BIG plus for them. For TEC/Advent, you have to spent time/ressources to make them "more" useful. I'd definitely agree with that. If we had to actually sink 1800 credits (plus crystal and metal costs) to get the ability to move, the Vasari starbase would be a lot more c
And all starbases you can simply bypass, that is if you don't mind your fleet being robbed of all its AM and taking 20+% damage to their hulls. Throw some well placed mines in and it becomes much more costly. Actually, its 30% damage to hulls & sheilds , with all anti matter removed. And you forgot to mention the TEC ability that you can resear

Look, I had the same problem. My 8800GTX was heating my casing. My recommendation would be to open your casing to let the heat come out and you could do what I did; place a large fan (a fan you would use in any part of your house) right next to your casing. Its not the best solution but its a temporary one until you can get better venting for your PC. Removing the dust is a good start but I doubt it's gonna be enough. Bottom line is; you have to cooldown your

Look, I'm not trying to start an argument here. All I'm saying is that Crysis did not turn out to be what I expected. BTW, Razonator, Soldiers do respawn in Crysis, Korean Soldiers are very tough to take down, emptying half a clip to a full clip just to kill one is bad enough, but having to see them respawn is ludicrous. If you still have the game, replay one and test it for yourself. I can clearly remember a military base with tanks in the middle, I saw a heavy machine gun
I played through the First Decade from C&C 95 to Zero Hour less then a year ago and it was quite fun. C&C 95 and Red Alert are perfectly playable. It's Tiberian Sun that's an issue since the pace is slow as molassess! The most challenging aspect will the the Zero Hour campaign on Hard. Chinese mission #3 is really tough. Funnily enough they don't compare to C&C 3: Kanes Wrath in difficulty...stuck on the 7th or so mission.
