Are there any plans for crossfire/sli and/or multi threading support? I have a very nice pc all setup correctly, able to run crysis and other high end games. Sins runs ok but there is quite a bit of slowdown on giant fleet battles. im guessing this is just the same for everyone and people have very different opinions of what low framerates are. I have an 4870x2 card but i guess that only counts as 1 4870 as thers not crossfire support? and i have a new q9550 oc'd to 3.8, but again that p

ive got 2 things to say about this. 1 is that when i got the game, id heard off a couple of reviews that it's supposed to run really well. This gave me high expectations. Actually later i tried to and couldnt find any actual benchmarks for the game. What im saying is that some people think 30 fps is completely smooth, and others including me would count that as being jerky. 2, i found out that if i turn the sound effects down, i dont have this weird lag issue anymore when loads of ships are firi

Ive been having this weird lag issue, where the game gets all bottlenecked, with about 60 ships. I realised that when i disable my soundcard, the issue completely dissapears. Also, it seems to go if i turn down the effects slider on the audio options. I had the latest beta drivers installed for my x-fi, and have tried to go back to old ones, but trouble is i think the betas install some kind of firmware which has permenantly changed the card. So I still have the same problem either way... not

i get this weird thing, where it will be fine at over 60 fps, then suddenly it gets really slow and drop to around 10-20 fps. id guess there'd be around 60 ships in a battle, but thats not exactly massive. it doesnt feel right though, theres something about the way it feels that says something wrong... im running an 8800gtx oc'd, e6600 3.4, 4 gig ram and vista x64

Hi Monk, thanks for helping me with this btw. But heres the thing, this has happend every time ive played sins online- I look at the Network option in the menu, and see everyones ping, and they're usually fine but mine will spike every 10 secs or so lagging the game. Any idea what this could be? i know it would point to my connection obviousley, but im pretty sure its not. ive done that ping thing- i have vista anti lag on which works according to the ping cmd, and can see that if i ping google,

Could it be my NAT router? cos ive never had any lag problems like this in other games. In Company of heroes, sometimes i cant join a game cos of the NAT, but other than that it doesnt lag whilst in a game. But in this, it seems to lag every few seconds. Also, I am using Vista and have installed Vista Anti Lag, and im %90 sure my connection is fine, unless NAT can cause this kind of lag? thanks

hi thanks for the post. i think that's cleared up some misunderstanding on my part. I think in that case, it could possibly be that Im in england and probably playing people from USA or for all i know, Austrailia, which could be causing lag over such vast distances. A shame, i can't think of a way round that unless i host a game called 'Europe only', but that doesnt stop others from joining.

I played one game which ran flawlessly. but the last 4 games have been so laggy, and it turns out that I'm the one who's lagging. I tried yesterday and it was doing it, and the same today. But then i play other games online and they arnt lagging at all, also i can ping a website using the command prompt every second to prove that it's not my connection. So im thining it must be ther servers or something. Im in the UK.

anyone else? post your fps using fraps, and list your spec, vista/xp, and how many units/how far zoomed you are etc.

I've only had the game for 2 days, i'm just trying to work out if it's as fast as it should be, so far i havnt seen any 100+ battles yet. Right, so using fraps with about 50-60 ships on screen, (some are pirates and some the other faction) 1 planet in background, and a few factories and other buildings- i get between 30-60 fps, depending on how i view the battle, but my point is that i can get it to go down to 36 fps from a certain few angles. settings are all maxed, at 1680x

I have a good rig, its an 8800gtx, 3.4 e6600, 4 gig ram vista x64 I was a little concerend with my frameartes as using fraps it was going down to 30 fps at times, just in the tutorial. but then i strated a game and it seemed ok, though i didnt build anything, just zoomed and changed angle etc, but it didnt drop into 30's- isntead it stayed at 60 (vsync must be on by default). Anyway, am i allright, is this just the tutorial which does this? settings
