I had more of something like this in mind, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ringworld

I would like to see the enviroment more "alive". Like solar flares, It would be nice to have some activity from the star that would limit your ability to orbit or phase jump back and forth between systems. Or meteor showers, You could try to run a gauntlet through them or have to go around when traveling. Or black holes, Kinda self explainatory. I would also like to see a ring world.
Some times I feel like a nut, and some times I don't
In game product placement ads are one thing, They are a cheap attempt at exposing thier product to the masses more often. They can also add more realisim to the game. In some cases be really good for the game such as the Grand Turismo series. But they are not (so far) intrusive or inflamitory topics or products. In the case of the advertising method with the political ads, they (developers) are leasing space in the game for ads. The current electio
Well as much as I could ignore it, I feel political advertising doesn't belong in games.
I wonder if this would fall in the gamer bill of rights? What's next? Big Daddy sporting a McCain/Palin T-shirt? Seriously, this is something I do not wish to see happen. I know it is an extra source of income for game devs, but I'm currious of what Frogboy and the rest of Stardock think of it.
That is what I think I know. Also what does "all your base are belong to us" mean?
Its from Zero Wing http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cQnDkgdIn_A check it out. Here is a link on you tube it's from covering the story
What really sucked about about the SUV (besides the obvious) is nobody invested the effort into fuel economy. There was alot of stigma with SUVS as status symbols. They were luxury sedans made to tame the wilds of the suburban parking lot. If there was a clean deisel HUMMER introduced years ago, or models with respectable milage for thier size they probably wouldn't be on the brink of extiction now. Sure we have them now but people are fleeing them like fleas from a flaming cat.
Well, maybe we could get the OP to rename the thread Dead Horse Buffet. Ciao.
done and done.
I usualy build about 4 repair platforms on top of each other with a jump inhibitor, about 4 hangers and some turrets on point. All of these are arranged and packed together so they all overlap, and then I park a few carriers or LRM friggets inside the group. It makes an effective defense against the AI in most cases. Not to be condescending, don't forget to invest in upgrades that can help track the enemy's fleet. -VERY IMPORTANT- The AI just loves to flank the hell out
As for ACORN, if you got news that wasn't biased against those evil evil republicans, you might know they do more than voter registration too. Not to mention voter fraud has dick to do with the discussion, was entirely out of context, and made no sense as a retort. This isn't even new news, ACORN has been fucking around in the mortgage market for over a decade now. Us right wing crazies have been bitching about the bad loans since Clinton hosed us with them in ev
Besides the limitations involved there is one issue, People are dicks. If you go MMO you get all the problems that come with MMOs. And not just cheating, account theft, online spamming and server maintenance and repair ect, ect. You also need to find people willing to run a campaign long enough to hold attention of those playing. Or mission based gameplay, and if you do that. What do you reward to the players? How do you reward it? How do you keep vetran players f
You also have the benefit that for each research station you build, corresponding ship and structure construction speed is affect also. If only by a small ammount per station, it all adds up.
However they still controlled few worlds
Yeah I probably should have paid attention to the post in the first place, I missed that part.
O man capital hill just shot down the bailout, now its gonna be like survivor with banks. Who is gonna be gone next week?
Sweet.
I came across this comic through cracked.com, and I have to say its just great. Its kinda like Calvin and Hobbes meets The Far Side. Its also where I got my Avatar, (with permission to use the image as an avatar first). Hope others can enjoy it as much as I have.
Fueling the economy by overselling at 100% markup to people that can't afford them doesn't actually fuel the economy.
Its a sad truth. Town in my area (Lumberton Texas) has had by far the fastest growth now than in the past 30 years. I work for a plumbing company sub-contracted to do the work on the homes for new neighborhoods being built there. And they are working at the pace of a new home getting completed every 3 days. Homes are vac
I've read and heard a few different versions of "this number."
I have to, its just alot of money anyother way, the pies make it more palatable.
We need to take our medicine now, cut Fannie and Freddie off, abolish the idiotic HUD program, collapse the housing market, put a shitload of contractors out of business(we have way too many of them)
I agree that we may have to many contractors (way to many bad eggs for sure) and in my area, (Texas gulf coast) contractors have been building homes for 40-50k and selling them for over 100k. But they have alot of people working and are a fuel for our economy here
Huzza got back to my own post, (had to get Firefox bit of a forum bug with IE) and got some interesting opinons and info. One thing about the buyout I find kinda hard to swallow is that its enough money to just about rebuild the ENTIRE American infrastructure. When I can't even get my county to fill a pothole at the end of my street. Its about $2,500 from every man, woman and child. (excluding illegal immigration ofcourse) I know its a free market and the "yo
Recycling and reusing play a large part of my life and I encourage both these wholeheartedy. The major difference with digital commodities is the original buyer maintain full benefit for the product AFTER he/she has parted with it. Being a liscense that it is, our customer is really selling our property. Customer becomes Competitor, and we end paying to support the product. It wouldnt be a problem if the original installed/copied game could magically disappear after sale. The reality i
