If you play as the TEC the best cap balance is 4 Kols, 4 Akkens, 4 Marzas, and 4 Sovas. Don't even bother with Dunovs. all they do is waste prescious fleet space. Also, once you have your fleet built up, get rid of any Krosovs you have. They cost the same as carriers and arent nearly as useful. As far as combat ships go, about 60 Kodiaks, 20 Cobalts, 30 Javelins, and 30 Gardas should do fine. 20 Hoshikos are the optimal number for them. Cielos have rather limited uses, so only build 5-10 of t

I still like the TEC the most. Well balanced fleet, and they have the strongest Armor anf hulls. That and they can crank out tons of units fast because of their economy. If we didnt have fllet caps, I think they win through sheer numbers

This story is taking place at different times at different points. For instance, Kol is 8 years before the game, Archie is about 4 years, and the advent are about present or 5 years, depending on who he's talking about. Right, guywhoyoudontno?

Despite the advent strike craft and ability to capture enemy ships, i still prefer TEC and Vasari simply because you can build more ships. Drone Anima cost 21 fleet space and having a bunch of them drags your fleet down. TEC has the Novalith which is amazing when used properly and Vasari will always win head to head with a fully upgraded fleet (late game). Howver, all 3 are still very well balanced and I've learned the best tactics and strategies with all 3 so who I play as or against doesn't

While useful, sometimes they just get annoying. Example: when you set the Novalith to auto it will still hit the planet even though you may have it under control. Wouldn't you think you would be able of either detonating the shell early(like scrapping) or redirecting it? Especially since it is supposedly the pinnacle of TEC ordanance technology

Wouldn't it be nice to build as many ships as you could afford?[e digicons]:)[/e]

1-2 scouts, a bunch of light combat frigates, and either a battleship or colonization class capitol ship (depending on faction) Also, research trade ports as soon as possible. they are the key to expanding quickly. that and planet developement

Aside from being mentioned in some fan submissions in passing, Earth is never mentioned. Naeve is however. Maybe thats that capitol in the future?

If you truly want to have caps be put to full use, use them as cores of your fleets as the TEC. Just last night i won a battle where I was outnumbered 2:1 in both ship and strike craft, but I won because of my 8 cap ships.
