I'm having the exact same problem, happens 100% of the time. :(

I hate the new sound set for the TEC light frigates in Entrenchment. There are so many other voices in the game that should have been changed, but they choose to make one of them even more annoying. I know it's a nitpick, but is there any way to get the original sound set back?
Doh! That fixed it :) thanks. There really should be a read me in there that tells you to do that. I didn't copy all those BTW, I just took everything from the particle forge folder and put it in the SoaSE root folder. Same thing really though. Thanks again!
I just downloaded particle forge, but I can't seem to get it to work right. All of the particles look like giant untextured squares. I'm on a current-gen Macbook Pro (2.5Ghz C2D, 4GB RAM, 512MB Nvidia 8600M GT, Vista 64). Any ideas?
Eh, whatever. I just backed up my saves and fully uninstalled and reinstalled the game. Curiously enough, my history is still missing in impulse...
Like I said, it says it still says 1.09 in the game, but it erased my settings and my update history. I was wondering if it's possible that anything else was messed up.
Ok, so, stupid mistake. I was looking for Particle Forge, which I didn't realize had to be downloaded separately. I thought it might be on the disk, so I inserted the disk and clicked the option that said "Modify Available Options". I thought it was just scanning my files until I realized how long it was taking. Then I read the fine print that said "installing", and I immediately cancelled it. After that, I started up Sins, and noticed it still said v. 1.09 in the corner. So far, it all seems fi
The effects are better, but still missing some flare. I like the effects in [link="https://forums.sinsofasolarempire.com/301418"]Bailknight's Graphic Mod[/link]- I think Ironclad should have looked to this mod to see the full potential of the game engine.
Uninformed troll is uninformed. They released the beta like they said they would. They did stay true to their word. That means YOU sir are the liar.
I agree, the delay is kind of annoying.
Why did they refer to this as 1.1 Beta? Why not just call it the official 1.09? BTW, downloading now! SO EXCITED!!!
Now it's Thursday PST... still no patch! AAHHHH!!!!!! jk :p
Is there any confirmation they'll release it at midnight anyway? Who knows, they just said "Thursday", they didn't say what time on Thursday...
Yah, but it seems like it would have been less of a hassle to just send us a bunch of smaller patches rather than make us wait. Oh well, time for me to join in on the waiting game...
Oops, I misunderstood. I thought the finished version was due in mid-July. :p Why didn't they just release all these changes in small bite-sized chunks to keep us occupied, rather than waiting to release everything in one giant patch?
Why is it that the beta was never released? It says you can get it off of impulse, but I've tried everything (including clicking the option to have impulse show me pre-release software), and haven't found anything.
So is it worth the hours of reinstalling my games and such? (Thanks for the info BTW guys!)
I've been debating whether or not should bite the 64-bit bullet and upgrade from vista 32 to vista 64. I'm just looking to improve my gaming performance really. Here are my specs: Current-Gen Macbook Pro: 2.5 GHz C2D 4GB DDR 2 667 MHz Dual-Channel RAM 512MB Nvidia 8600M GT 250GB 5,400 RPM HDD Currently running Vista32 SP1 on a 100GB partition The games I currently am playing and would like to see a performance boost: Sins of a Solar Empire Supreme Co
The fact that there's sound in space in Sins is another thing, though it would be worse to have no sound effects at all in the game :p
[quote]Total War dosn't have the best diplomacy thats for sure.Diplomat from that tiny little 2 province faction you have massivly pounded on:"Hi, we will destroy you if you don't give us 4000 of them gold coin things so we can build more pesants to man our armys and we want those territorys you took from us without even bothering to play the real time battle since you out-numbered us 10 to 1.We are deadly serious. You cannot deny us how powerful we are. There is no escape!"Next Turn:"We really
Personally I'd like to see a more fleshed-out diplomacy system (more like what's in Medieval 2: Total War, where you can make demands to the other factions and such) and an improved black market.
Another question- What's the advantage to flooding the market with your resources? Also, can you choose to buy your resources from the player that's offering them for the lowest amount? I'm talking single player here BTW, I haven't played online yet.
Ah, I see. Did you try calling Stardock or e-mailing them directly?
Thanks for all the info, it makes a bit more sense now :)
I don't think Stardock is going to be able to help you, as you didn't order the game through them. Contact the person you ordered it from.
