I've already tried that. It didn't work.
Your post should have gone in the mods section rather than necro a thread.
Working on the buff builder and ran into a problem trying to exec ConvertData_Rebellion.exe automatically. The program detects when it needs to invoke it, but it isn't running. I've never called an exe from java before, so that's probably a good chunk of it, but eh... Anyways... You know, I'm actually kinda surprised that there have been no other comments by others for a while... Regardless, release 0.3 is live. Import and export are live. Never again should anyone have to touch an ability or buff file! I intend to do more, but the point is, with this release, editing with Notepad++ is now obsolete! Next order of business will be making it invoke ConvertData when importing and exporting. Then I'll work on saving at the
When cycling through the maps, you did cycle to the GalaxyForge ones, right?
Release 0.2!!! All pluggables integrated. I make no guarantees regarding lack of bugs with that. I'll need help finding all of them. At this point, the program can export both buffs and abilities as well as all pluggables for either. In other words, you can now use it just as you would if you were manually creating things. It is not yet fool-proof nor is it capable of saving a buff chain to reload later, but so long as you don't close it, you

Now that my new computer has been put together, I've been able to get back to this. After spending more or less the entire Saturday on it, I've made some major progress! Most critically, I now have InstantActions up and running and can export abilities. Bear in mind that it's not yet idiot proof or capable of saving your work or even of exporting more than once per session. The point is though, it exports successfully and those ability exports can in fa

You may not know if it will be a 5s game or one full of noobs, but still better than arguing
If MP stabilized around a particular map with the same team configuration every time, I could see it working out and becoming a reliable measure. If the devs codified this at all, they could even add metrics for skills with positions.
Well, provided that Tachyon does hit Sins next year, what changes could we actually expect from it? Balance changes and bug fixes I suppose. Perhaps even improved ICO.
To be fair, they also said Diplomacy would be the last expansion...
Didn't they just say it would be the last micro-expansion? That's what my understanding was, meaning that Rebellion wasn't in violation of what they said (on that statement at least). Eh, it's been two years since then. You're probably right.
Advent would still be harmed disproportionately by phase cannon still. The reason? They rely more on shields and less on hull strength. TEC might actually benefit from this type of configuration though.
But I'm saying that the majority of the power of the Chasers would invested in Rift Beams which only kick in once shields go offline, which is going to take a while on Advent. Sur

Fury is absolutely right. Sinkillr is a hydra troll with who knows how many accounts. You could be one for all I know, but if you are, then ok. If you aren't, ok. I don't particularly care because I'll have intelligent discourse with whoever'll listen. Sins is what it is and we like it for that. Are people free to mod the game to add more races? Yep. But it's not as easy to mod this game as you think. Once you get int
I have nothing against more complex planets, only adding gratuitous volumes of races. When you have that many, the racial identities become more shallow, more cookie cutter, more stereotypical. Let's say that Sins II happens and is a hit and integrates the chasers, I'd be fine with Sins III having a fifth race. Progressive additions allow more racial identity and depth.
Instead of saying "lol no" please at least review the idea and then give some constructive feedback. ...
Because you would fundamentally change the game into that which it is not and a sequel should respect the first game. In Sins, we have more complex racial identities than what that game suggests. Balance is obviously a concern and while you could disable it, you have to consider
you're welcome to PM me about it if you wish.
Dang it.. After Tachyon, this thread just seems sad... Maybe it's just that I grew too attached to my vision of the Chasers... I guess I could always mod them... But if I did that, I'd feel guilty if I didn't use Buff Builder which means I'd need to finish that, but I'm probably not gonna finish that unless I get absurdly and bizarrely motivated, Sins rebounds (maybe Tachyon magically makes Sins more lively), or I get help. Dang it.
I would say volt, that the idea of an mmorts with today's understanding of gaming is not going to work. A complete innovation on all fronts of what makes an rts and an mmo work, especially by someone with a military/history background can yield something new (well at least I hope). The company that gets it right first will make billions, the market is primed and ready for it. Now game companies just need to get the
Once the Ankylon comes out though, it outright trumps Advent. Sure, the Coronata is immune since its power is in Suppression Aura which ignores the Ankylon's disable, but nonetheless, to be equally powerful, you'd need a fleet all casting abilities. A single ship which can disable an entire fleet is the very reason why I have been opposed to these things being in the stock game for a long time...
