I have found the tool useful for tracking down bugs and quickly creating a senario. Great job Guys, keep it up!
I KNOW I can grab an entire group and tell the units what SC to make. But still, like my last game, I had 15 Carriers, 5 Hangers, 5 Cap ships, and that meant I had to go in and literally click fighter/bomber FIFTY times God help you if your Advent, that's 70+ times!
Perhaps then just add functionality of select the group you want then have one button that would assign fighters to the entire selection and one that assigns bombers to the entire selection. Eliminates the
The only thing I can think of that would make it easier for me. Would be to select the strike units from the same screen as the build order for the hangar or ship using them. Forgetting to switch screens to SC build screen, seems to be why people forget to build them. Which is really what most people are complaining about here. Whether or not that is possible without a major revision to the UI, I'm not sure.
If that's it, then it certainly doesn't happen all the time, or we would've heard sooner, I think.
I am not sure I understand what your saying here. Why would a theory be incorrect because you hadn't heard it sooner?
For example, the stabilizer I built at the desert planet. (As mentioned in my last post) Ships started using that one immediately instead of going to the far asteroid.
That planet was already colonized for some time before you
Often, when I need to get from point A to point B, and both have "Phase Stabilizer Node" in their gravity well, the ships will choose REGULAR star-lanes (using more than one jump) instead of taking the single phase-stabilized jump.
I did a few hours of testing using the saves provided above and what I found is a bug that is definable and repeatable. The Phase Stabilizers all work as they should except for the last planet or planets that you colonize. Eventually even they
Summary of Odd Set Group Hotkey / Fleet Behavior
Quote from:[link="https://forums.sinsofasolarempire.com/316556/page/19"]Sins of a Solar Empire v1.1 BETA Change Log[/link] - User Interface / HUD: -Entities autojoining fleets (see AI changes) will now search for and join the hot key group that contains the entire fleet. This way you don't have to rebuild hot key groups as more ships get added to the fleet automatically.
So this is an intended behavior and the
I'm trying to figure out what your getting at here. On the Video screen you have full screen resolutions, based on your video card, and a choice to run in windowed mode. If you are in full screen mode you select your resolution using the game controls. Windowed mode however uses the operating system display settings. If your running in a window you can resize the window, like any other window in XP/Vista. If you want to change resolution within the window, you need to change the resolution for e
-Autojoining a fleet now also inherits the fleet leaders settings (ex. group hyperspace state).
I was looking through the changelog trying to figure out which change was causing this. I think what is happening is that it inheirts the group key as well. I honestly don't know enough about game mechanics yet. To know if its possible to have the fleet leaders settings dropped when they leave the fleet.
I can confirm this as well. Thanks for posting this cause I'm pretty new to the game and I was chalking it up to my inexperience. I tend to run thin on my fleet sizes, when I'm expanding in the beginning of the game and when I am advancing and have multiple fronts going on. Having a group of ships abandoning a battle following my Caps, one or two which I use for JIT (just in time) reinforcements was killing me. Literally hours of work down the tubes.
I have to go with its fine as it is. You grow and push everything into a wartime economy. The percentage grows and is called fleet maintenance. You talk about realism? That much of your Gross Solar Product is invested, if you lose your fleet, your population is decimated, your resourses destroyed and supply lines cut off. With the entirety of your infrastructure destroyed and your society is falling apart. Most likely you go into a depression. Pretending that reality
That's really odd my native resolution is 1680x1050 and I have never seen that. I'll keep an eye out for it though. My specs are quite a bit different than yours: Specs: Vista 64 bit SP1 Intel Q9450 2.7GHz - 8 GB RAM - 4x2GB Nvidia GeForce 8800GTS 640 video card GeForce 175.16 May 13, 2008 drivers - newest is 175.19 June 23, 2008 (I'm one release behind will upgrade ASAP) Using single DVI - Samsung Syncmaster 226BW
Hey Everyone lets unoffically close this thread by not posting in it anymore. Thats what Trolls want an emotional response to their outrageous claims. If you don't believe me [link="https://forums.sinsofasolarempire.com/posts/2640"]take a look at his track record for yourselves[/link]. He has already repeated a different topic, after Kryo specifically asked him not to and later locked the first thread. So join me in ignoring itsme[color="#A0522D"
Lobemonster, You do realize there is at least one map that starts off with no home planet, always has been is a small map IIRC [link="https://forums.sinsofasolarempire.com/319259/page/1/#1813569"]you have probably already seen this post its the "Gaian Cresent" map. If you read the maps setup story it says how harsh the conditions are[/link]
I had a look at this and its all true. The tool tip tells you to build a Gauss Defense Platform, but the Metal Extractor is highlighted. When you click to build Extractor the tutorial advances.
reading all these comments of poor people, trying to argue as much as they can against "Jobs"
Are you sure we are reading the same thread? Yeah we poked fun at Jobs, Gates, Al Gore, the Ewoks and even ourselves. However the major thrust of this thread has been to look at the origins of the dock.
Apple is the only company, that for years took good care about the QUALITY of their products. I have nothing against SD, but ObjectDock is kinda crap as compared t
I realize that the servers are maxed at the moment. However when I updated at 1:45 pm the whole process, including archiving took only 45 minutes. Under normal server conditions Impulse works quite well IMHO.
Expect it early afternoon Eastern. I'd say around 2-3pm EST,
I'm listening to Annatar11 from now on. He knows the rops around here it was there at least by 1:30 PM. If that's not calling it... Beta Testing what a BLAST!!!
At my location its patch time!!! Its here come and get it. Probably won't be on the forums I'll be busy Beta testing. Best Regards, FoePa
Unless it's possible to install the update over the mod(s) and then deactivate it to use these changes, then reactivate it to use my mods, does anyone know if that's possible?
I don't believe that will be possible. As far as I know Mods, savedgames, and recordings are all linked to the version they where made for/under. So unless the modded files where created vith the version they are being played on then the differences with crash the game. Version 1.05 mods with only w
I bought mine two months to early...
Perhaps not if its included on newer models of your machine, you may be able get it from the Dell downloads page with your Service Tag. Congrats Stardock, I'm new to this community but you really seem in touch with your customers by being so accessible on the forums. It is also nice having one password spanning the forums for all your products. Keep up the Great Work!!!
Wheres the BLOG? If we don't know where it is how can we read it? Which game? Please expand on which expansions we are refering to. Since I can't figure out what's beginning. I guess it went right over my head its probably over by now and I missed it. Why do I feel like I'm spamming the board? This is the off topic section and this topic is surely way off!!! Sorry for my ramblings have a "Good Night or Day" dependent on your time zone.
So tomorrow then?
Once we figure out what "Mid July" was code for we will know more. One crypto algorithm outputs Christmas (Late December) if that helps. The other code breaker seems to think it means actual date minus two months. Which would be Mid September.
actually I think he means culture...
That was my first impression too. If your playing single player you can always slow down cultural development before you start to lessen the impact. But to turn it off or remove it completely would drastically change the balance of the game. But if that is what he means, he needs to realize that it is not a mod but an integral part of SINS and take it up with the DEVS.
give colony ships an additional 'construct mine' ability
It may be a problem with the neutral mines being in the middle of nowhere. I have often wondered why you would find fully operation mines already built in space. I am going to take a wild guess here and assume it has something to do with how the game engine operates. What was fixed if IIRC is that you can no long destroy these mines by attacking them, in that way they are invunerable. Are they supposed to b
Warning - Incoherent RANT - Now I am really confused so a Mac is defined by What? When? and is a ripoff how? I missed most of the point of why we care. When personal computers began a MAC was its own machine with its own GUI which was inspired by the work of Xerox and other early pioneers. Long past are the days when the Mac was really even a Mac its just another OS on Intel Hardware. With a BSD Unix OS and a GUI overlay, which could run on everyone's PC. So Mac is not only a rip
