Well I have several models I've done with wings3D that are not complete yet and I would like to export them but I can't seem to find a converter for wings to allow me to do that. I tried out Gmax and that is basically worse then crap for me as it can't export anything... also Gmax doesn't allow you to close one of the 4 boxes into one so you have a single screen. I want to convert basically the models I have so I can import them into said program... if that can be done I'd be willing to learn

@ Twilight - yes you are correct, that is a planetary defense network that shoots at any ships getting to close too it or try to get into bombing range. @ ScopeSgt - the 2 gig issue is part of Sins hardcoded problem and can't be solved but the guys who work on this mod are working on incorporating the work of Major Stresses Sin's Optimization project which will cut back on the amount of memory the game uses.
Hey all... I'm thinking about getting back into modeling again but the program I am most familar with Wings3D is giving me issues with computer mouses. The one I used before I left behind with my other stuff before I moved so I have to look into getting a new mouse. Any suggestions please also... I'm trying to not shell out a large sum of money to get it... so any suggestions of a mouse that is cash tight that will work for the program would be extremely helpful
I wouldn't see a problem with changing the HUD to match it's race... it's been done in 7DS mod I believe... it's been so long since I play tested it though so I can't remember exactly
Hmmm... make the HUDs more specific to the race I guess? I've always thought the Advent's HUD should look more crystalline looking, TEC more militaristic metally looking and the Vasari... well you can prob think of something for them

heh your right on that, besides I'd think railguns would be an upgrade later on anyways. I've seen some railgun tests they've done and they've tried to clock the speed on round when it fired. The speed clocker couldn't keep up or read it cause the round was moving to fast. Get something moving fast enough and it can penetrate just about anything... well that depends on the round of course, and even then if the round gets melted due to the friction because of the speed the vaporize matter whic
really odd that you'd have a Vulcan cannon on a space fighter... I mean bullets shouldn't work in the vacuum of space or at least from what I read... you'd be better off with railguns... and yes I know this is science fiction and all but it makes more sense to use a gun powered by magnets then gunpowder in space

Yes EVE ships are awsome to look at... though being in a Frigate compared to a Battleship you realize how small you are and how easy that BS can kill you lol... I'm a former EVE player, the game play is okay... but it's a but slow compared to the more fast paced mmorpgs out there
Try Wings3d, look it up on google, it's a free 3d modeling program and it fits perfectly with the amount of poly count that Sins can handle. As for meshes and skins for the ships... I can't help there... I've yet to make it even that far

lol Starbases... I don't think they count as ships... those are more like a very large version of a weapons platform which has abilities and a heck of a lot more firepower, minus the Vasari Starbase of course cause that can actually move within the gravity well. Of course it can't phase jump... also... there is a class below the Titan class that has been left out... Dreadnoughts, smaller assualt ship that is larger then a battleship class... though the Titan class is the largest war v
