Recently I've played a couple Illum Spammers. It really bothers me because they say it's completely fair. I disagree. But when they attack with so many goddamn Illums (100-180) I need to retreat. I always need my ally to help me take it back. Is there any way to fight off Illums as Vasari or TEC? As in, ships and defenses? THanks for the advice.

TEC: Sova Carrier, has decent firepower but can pump out strikecraft to deal a crapload of damage. Advent: Haven't played them much but the Rapture Battlecruiser for it's Vengeance Power. Vasari: Jarrasul Evacuator because it can colonize but has unusually powerful firepower.
Really, there should be at least a dozen or so ships in this fleet. These are what should be included: 1 Akkan battlecruiser 1 Sova Carrier 8-12 Cobalt Frigates 4 Javelis Frigates 2-6 Kodiak Cruisers I prefer the Colonizing Capital Ship. They have defense unlike the frigate, and have other special abilities. But keep the Sova and Akkan far back, using them as support ships while the bulk of your fleet deals
At the bottom of the prep screen pres Game Options. Go for there and put Pirates Inactive. That's how I got my start, without those goddamn Pirates ruining my perfect fleets :D
Usuaully they have an average of 9 of each ship types at the Pirate Base. . .
In my little happy world :D These are chokepoints: Important areas on the map. Say, a neutral planet between your Empire and another's. It's a planet you fight to the death for. You send a big fleet there, same for the enemy. Basically, you'll stop at nothing for that planet. If it's your planet, this is what a chokepoint is: Planets your enemy has recently been attacking. You should build a lot of light frigates (depending on which race, the average is about 40-
First, I use my LEV's to build a Metal and Crystal Extractor. At the same time, I build 4 Cobalts. Once the Cobalts are done, I order my LEV's to create a Military Lab and Cap Ship Factory. At the same time I build two (or one) Scouts and scout nearby planets. If they're ripe and don't have a crapload of units there, I build a Akkan.. I take the planet over. I then do the same there like my home planet. I build 4 more Cabalts and I upgrade the Fleet Logistics a bit. I research
Ok lol. Because I was like "Am I hallucinating?..."
I never said they would be alone. They won against the Kol alone, if you were referring to that.
Recently I was playing a game as Vasari when i found something important. If you take a small fleet of say frigates and cruisers, and you have a Skiranta, make a Kortul with it. The Skiranta can pump off fighters and bombers while the Kortul does the dirty work. THe Kortul, obviously, has good firepower, speed and overall brutality on the battlefront. To prove this, I have compared the Kortul with a Kol. K
Isn't it Halcyon or is it just me?. . .
Like in Star Wars: Empire At War expansion packHeresy! Speak not the name of the unclean!
What would you know about it. Get back on topic before we're banned or this thing gets locked.
Yeah I had the same question, I knwe about the stars and stuff but not about the research. Thanks :P
1.) The halcyon carrier, because I love strikecraft and the halcyon is a king among carriers.2.) Mothership, very nice support abilities. Malice and shield regen is very good.QUEEN the Halycon = a QUEEN amongst carriers , as far as i know i havent seen a single male advent... + ships are mostly considerd Females...
Yeah. I really don't find the Progenitor useful except being able to colonize. I hate Colony Frigates, and I won't tell you why because it's
Before I was just playing a 2v1 match, me and a TEC AI vs an Advent player. I put my ally on Unfair (1.05 patch) and the Advent on Hard. Soon, I have almost 70 LRMs, 100 Cobalts, 1 Dunov, 2 Kols, 2 Sovas, 3 Marzas, 20 Kodiaks, and more. But the Advent attack and outnumber my forces 3 to 1 (I had less than half my fleet at the planet) I called in my friend but just as he got there he didn't fire a shot and left immediately. I retreated and regrouped my main fleet. I attacked and tried to r
Interesting. . . I once was playing and the AI kept sending a crapload of Cruisers at me. I was distracted and my friend came from behind and wiped me out.
Exactly what Kitkun said. You usually upgrade the one on the top for Cap Ship limits, and the bottom for frigs-cruisers limits.
For Hoshikas, I usually have 8-14 of them. I have them in the back protecting my Caps, but if need be, they go up front. If they're under fire I use some cruisers as meat shields, AKA Kodiaks. Cielos, I usualy have 2-4. Not a lot, if one goes down, you still have more.
Well I'm not really sure, I'm relatively new. But, they're phase lane jumps, not hyperspace jumps. :P :D
You can order them to attack the enemy ships. But the reason why I think is because they take out defensive platforms/hangars while your ships take the enemy fleet out.
Ok, as some of you know I am a very frequent TEC player. I sometimes play as Advent or Vasari, but for the most part I play TEC. Yesterday I had my biggest battle yet over Halleria in one of the medium or small maps. My ally, a Vasari player, had come under attack and I came to assist him. The Ships <font size=
I haven't played as the TEC, so I can't say this of full experience. Anyway the hard AI has often defeated me as TEC by quick expansion and building, say, five fleets of about 150 ships (most of them being light frigates, 1 to 3 of them capital ships) attacking from many fronts almost simultaneously.
To quote that, I actually use that sometimes. Attack from multiple planets simultaneously to confuse players so I can take their planets and smash their fleets while in turmo
Holy **** that's a lot of ships. The reason I think they didn't survive is because I think you should keep them heavily defended with fighters, cobalts or, lets say the LRM for long-range support. They can't do it on their own. Like in Star Wars: Empire At War expansion pack, the Vengeance-class frigate needs protection because it doesn't have shields. All you need is better protection. If you moved a couple LRMs and Cobalts to each Kodiak some might've pulled out.
My most effective Advent Capital Ship would most likely be 1. the Halcyon Carrier. 2. I usually keep them far from the actual battle and use them to pour in fighters/bombers while cruisers, frigates and other cap ships do the dirty work. 3. IDK, I use a different strategy all the time. 4. I've noticed I don't really use them in combat. Some people have been saying it has some quite good offensive capabilities and defensive abilities, besides the obvious squad
Thanks guys. And yeah, I think I saw three or four Ilums in there. I just played as the Advent. I built a Progenitor Mothership and a Radiance Battleship, both got up to level 4. And thanks for the advice, because I am now beating the Advent more often lol. And yeah, I did make some alliances with the Advent and found the strengths and weaknesses. Thanks again!
