I have to make a comment about the early years, mostly about the Chinese managing to make a gauss weapon before anyone else. I understand the authors need for China to have some kind of competent space faring weapon to be developed by the Chinese, but I think Gauss weapons would be a poor choice due to the fact that in real life the US has already developed railgun technology to the point that the US Navy has test fired a rail weapon just a few years ago. The fact it was an open test just mea

alright done...now what? I have no maps.
In that case I'm afraid I'm SOL sir. I have all your listed files in my folder. Also I had only one custom map and it has not shown up in the galaxy folder. Everything looks like it is in perfect order according to your list....unfortunetly.
the maps.txt file is missing.
I get a runtime C++ error whenever I click onto the map designer in game. Also I dont notice any change in the Cobalt's voice, hell thats the whole reason I got the patch.
so...spend a few extra hundreds of dollars to play a 30 dollar game? My advice, update as usual...personally I've never seen a performance difference but whatever, updatings always a good idea, and then simply play on very small maps... VERY small maps. That or I dunno, wait a few years when computers are so advanced they practically have rectum controlled interfaces and your sins copy is all dusty and forgotten, then dig it up
I just push the "+" key until my game is running at x8 speed and leave it there, in about 10 minutes i'm done playing.
... ... No really...I cannot honestly think of any words that can describe what i'm feeling right now. I'd say dissapointment but that dosent seem to be quite severe enough...for being a writer I curse my vocabulary for not having a single word in my arsenal that can convey the feeling of wanting to add clorox to the gene pool of the human race, this is what your question has made me feel in my heart, mind and gut. Okay... Step one: Play your game...recommend s
-sigh- Alright already, I came here to read a fanfic which in my opinion is at a professional level. Not to read an everlasting debate about a video game trying to be proven by realism and then realism being tried to be proven by a video game (wtf btw?). Orodum you have your own thread with your own story which you can use to project your views on the sins universe using your logic and understanding of historical wartime economics, you dont have to take this up here.</
dident I already make a thread like this?
Right, I know its speculation, I was just saying if they where making a 4th race, it wouldent make sense to divide resources to making new starbases and such for the new race and then just sitting on it for a long while. Or making a bunch of stuff and then instead of releasing the race itself, havign to divide aspects of it to people who either bought all, some or none of the expansions, It sounds like a bit of a hassle is all i'm saying.
thats just the thing, youd have to make the new race, along with all ship models, AI behavior, structures and such. and then create extra diplomacy features, starbases and mines, and whatever else int he third expansion, and then once you ahve all this stuff, you will ahve to just let it sit ont he back burner waiting for all three expansions to come out, and then once its unvieled, you would have to only allow certian little pieces of this now totally completed thing to its customers who bou
larger works for me, some ships dont exactly feel like theyre crewed by hundreds or thousands of people after all. One could blame this on the sheer nature of RTS but ... well theres gotta be a way to aesthetically solve that.
Bah! what a gyp, one would expect Fleet size to affect FLEET SIZE, not empire population. The two are wholly unrelated, givin enough time one can always create the same exact fleet size no matter what settings, if there was ever an issue to be adressed in a patch this is it, just out of sheer understanding of the english language I say.
what i heard was that the big expansion was split up into the three minis, and that there will be no compilation retail release after it all comes out. I Suppose I sorta agree witht he whole mini thing, seeing as to set up the orgional big expansion like was orgionally going to be done would take until summer next year I believe, and frankly thats just a bit too long to wait, particularly for people like me who will likley not even be anywhere near the US by that time. The onl
seeing as he got disbarred I think the Thompson riegn of terror is over. For real though I wasent tlaking so much about what the 4th race will be, but the way the gameplay will change when it comes, I think plenty of us where assuming it would be a new playable race, but logic would dictate that we would be seeing just another AI instead.
You know what? I've noticed this too.
Now i've been thinking about the three mini expansions coming out and how they they would develop the actual storyline of the game, and I had a little bit of a distressing thought. We've all been hearing about the 4th race in the game which is chasing the Vasari, and of course this has led to speculation that in an upcoming expansion said race would be available to be playable, a bit of a wish that many gamers and myself included would have been thrilled at doing. However, someth
"2) The Marza Dreadnaught Cap ship's bombard ability in the version I am playing seems to be broken. I click the button and never see any damage to any enemy ships. The patch notes made it sound as if it was now fixed and since Im writing one question above, I thought I'd just ask for verification that it really works now." .....your serious? I'm hoping your talking about the missle barrage ability and not the raze planet ability, you know, the one that actually d
welll blah, with all this i'll stick to vanilla then lol. As for online I simply ment actually telling the player i'm with about the rules, hope thier an honost person who agrees to them, I cant be the only one who would prefer a game using only caps and scout and colony frigs.
something about a minidump error or something, dosent matter, just took the whole damn thing off my HD and reinstalled, I guess if I want to play the thing this way I'll just make it a special rule in a multiplayer game, I dont really feel too comfortable DLing forge or really getting in too much with extra stuff on my comp.
tried the first idea btw...dident work.
Cool, that is what I was looking for, umm, just need to know how to actually do all that lol. and this is just a mod right I mean, I dont want to potentially mess up my game accidently by removing stuff I shouldent. Edit: Nevermind I found the entity files, and I can pretty much figure out which files correspond to what units, but this looks alot mroe like I'm changing the vanilla game itself on my HD instead of creating a mod dosent it? Or is there something i'm missing? I was lookin
Thank you, I am sure there propably is, but I was asking how I could personally make a mod like this on my own since it seems like such a simple aspect to change instead of having to search for a similar mod which may or may not be the right fit for what i ahd in mind, this way I can be sure the aspects I'd like are incorperated into the game.
Hi everyone, first of all I regularly play the game as it is, but one thing I like about it is the battles between cap ships. All I would like to do is have a mod where the frigate factory is disabled or at the very least, a player can only produce scouts and colony frigates, the main offensive capabilites will all be on the shoulders of using caps. I feel this would constitute a much more decisive range of tactics and strategy than with the regular game (not to mention make it run
