I think it's rather fortunate that this game was leaked - it may even have been leaked on purpose. Finally, if the game is good (and it looks like it is), you get the grass-roots buzz and the good word-of-mouth. So even if this were unintentional, the leak of Sims3 has so many benefits for EA that I don't find it hard to think that whatever they lose from piracy, they probably stand to gain much more.
&nbs

2 Vasari fleets attacking each other, with nothing but Enforcers.
After the 1.1 being rescheduled, I'd imagine they won't post a release date to keep from upsetting people.
Confirmed. I just updated to 1.1 :D
Yeah, I was just checking and I have no updates either. I like the new look of Impulse though. Hey Annatar, just curious, you've been so helpful, you have 150 Karma as of this writing, can't you trade in your Karma for a free game at this point? You're making everyone else look bad! [e digicons][/e] I'll check later today for the update. Is it gonna be a few megs if you already have the beta or is it going to be a large update?
Well, at least IC are still working on the game, instead of "LAWL let's just release it with all these bugs and just make a sequel that'll fix maybe 4 of them! LOL" More and more I see lazy developers come out with more crappy games that need so many patches and fixes just to make their game playable. You know, if developers did that back in the days of the SNES, they would be laughed out of town! If you were to release a game back then it better have

Lets take a lecture from the teachings of the great Star Trek Villian, Gul Dukat "A true victory is to make your enemies see they were wrong to oppose you in the first place, to force them to acknowledge your greatness" In sins its slightly different, just wipe out everything and anything that opposses you!
At the very top there's the line "versionNumber 1". This means, that the map only supports non-beta versions. Change it to "versionNumber 2" and save it. Check, if your text editor saves the file as .galaxy.txt and change this back to .galaxy if necessary.
Yes, posativ's fix does indeed work. I can confirm this myself. When I posted my map of the solar system I was on 1.09 Beta and all I did was just change
I find all anti-viruses to be absolutely worthless, because no matter what they are, they never completely protect your system. Yes, I had NOD32, and it failed, and it failed for several people I know. The best way to protect yourself is to use common practices. Don't go to ad-ridden sites, don't open crazy executables, and one of the best things you can do is to buy a cheap router. It doesn't have to be wireless, but the cheapest router has a firewall
I guess for those who are interested in signing up for the military might want to look into it.
Sounds like a nifty game, but I'm going to Basic in a month, no time to play a game like that :\ Ah well, there's always next year :D
Picracy will be in every medium we come across, but where the sales occur are where great games and movies are made. Ok, once again, not throwing sources or numbers, but remember Halo 2 when it was pirated months before its release? It's still one of the top selling games out there, because it's a good game. I'm pretty neutral on Halo myself, it's ok, but its sales figures are worth noting even though it was pirated before it came out. Must've been worth buying, becaus
Well, quite a thread we have here. Unfourtanetly I think piracy will always be one step ahead of DRM in the long run. Not throwing numbers here, just putting my 22 years of gaming as an example. Today's games have been hurt by piracy and DRM, yet I dare say DRM does more harm than good. I kept hearing about how great Bioshock is for instance the other day, and I saw on the back of the box for the PC version about how it requires an Internet con
I'll tell you what their real Nemesis is: Jack Thompson and his army of misinformed parents and lawyers.
You can change time by acceleration if we study the work of Einstien and Oppenheimer. For example, through the process of acceleration, you are effectively changing time itself around you. Say you took a trip to Pluto and back to Earth. If you accelerated towards the speed of light, you would have about an eight year trip on your hands. However, once you returned to Earth, everybody would have waited 20 years. Time slows down when you approach the speed of li
All you gotta do is install the game, and use the 1.05 patch exe. Yes, it hass all the patches up to 1.05 included. You cannot manually install past that because Ironclad has their upcoming 1.1 protected by you have to go online with Impulse to download it. Yes, I understand it's a pain, but you just have to connect once to download and install the 1.1 patch coming out soon. Think of it this way, you don't have to connect every few days to verify your
Yeah, Annatar's right about this one, especially with the firewalls. If you're on a college Internet setup, disable your firewalls. Additionally, there is a small chance that your college may be blocking the Sins update. I've had Internet problems with my college just a couple years ago, and it wasn't a problem on my end, more of a crappy configuration by the college network admins, as a lot of them (not all) don't know what they're doing. If you're re
This isn't on any official maps is it? What version of the game are you using?
I had a friend with a similar problem, but he was using a different .dll file from another game, because Windows 2000 is not supported for Sins. Since you're using Vista 32, the only thing I can suggest is to make double sure Vista has all its updates installed. Also, every file in Sins is official right? No mods or anything? I don't think it's your graphics card, but maybe a driver not cooperating with your card itself, or a driver in Sins that your card is not decodi

Actually, Rocky might be on to something. That might be an idea, you can go in the black market and get the schematics for another faction's capital ship, for an extraordinary price of course. This would be designed for late-game, as the costs are designed to spice things up when you just have loads of revenue lying around. I'd always like to steal one's technology and use it against them :).
The thing I would suggest as playing Vasari is not to go looking for a fight until mid-game. Vasari costs more, and you are at a disadvantage early-game. Until you get a good-sized fleet, I would suggest playing defensively. My optimal fleet is a Devastator, a Carrier, the rest are half-Overseers, and the other half are the mighty Enforcers. Enforcers so that you can withstand just about anything, and Overseers because of regen abilities. Trade ports are important,
In the 1.1 patch, I would like two main things. One, I would like a Story. Not a Story mode really, that would be nice too, but just, what exactly are the Vasari running from? That has been bugging me since I got the game. Two, I would like more ships and a larger fleet capacity.
