hi there im lookin to make a mod to my game install simaler to the "real cap ships" mod in the forums here i have a few issues that concern me. 1.my large computer wont open the entity files properly with notepad the text is all screwy not at all like the modding guide from the sticky on this section of the forums. They open up just fine on my laptop which has windows 7 the big pc has vista home. 2. can i add more banks to cap ships so they can be more like starbases , shootin

i need to do two things 4 my mini mod: increase number of bomber squads for cap ships(where i can do that in the txt file?) and make planets have bonuses and artifacts more often(agian where in the txt file)

ive been toying around with a mini mod 4 cap ships and the like i just have two questions : where in the txt file for a cap ship can i mod how many bomber squads the ships has? and on planet files where can i mod the likelyhood of bonuses or artifacts beeing found? i want to creat a mod with lots of planet bonuses/artifacts for small maps

ok another silly question in relation to modding can anyone make heads or tails of the planet info files i wanna mod my home planet so it always has an artifact what value do i gotta change?

hi ive been playing sins for about 6 months now and i think i want to get into modding i DL silents modding guide and the little tweaks i want seem simple enough but i have one major snag that i hope you peeps can help me with. in the guide it says to mod a shipfile i should open it with notepad or another word processor and it should come out looking like some of the examples in the guide however when i go into the games game info directory and open a ships file like the vasari battles
