i doubt any space ship in a combat role would go out with 0 weapons and only strike craft. I doubt too. You'd think they would just have a flak gun or two on the ship. The flak gun could attack anything though. But it's attack paramters would be set to the "immediate area" instead of the grav well so you don't have Carriers dying for no reason. If that made sense....
I believe that my entire post

I think people don't realize that if you slow down the CVL, it will be caught by CAs, and that defeats the entire purpose. If a CA can get into range of a CVL, said CVL will die. yes, CVLs might have more health then a CA, but said CA has more armor, and that is Capital level armor.

No matter how massive it is, a planet has enough room. Not all of a planet's resources will be sent away, and by this time in the war. The Vasari are bound to be nearing worlds heavily industrialized. Perhaps nothing like Terra, or the systems nearby, but worlds heavily industrialized enough to spare resources, and build PDCs then ship them in seperate parts. A point you guys have been argueing is that the enemy would then concentrate on the planets. They already do that. PDCs exist b
Capital Carriers need a buff by starting out with 4 strike craft and maxing out at 9/10. I already started a trend on that, and post in there to get IronClad's attention. Right now Light Carrier's represent what Capital Ship Carriers should be: really battlestars. I'd have no problem with a capital ship carrier kicking my ass - it takes a lot of resourcing and lv.ing up, but Light Carrier spam? no skill, no taste - just spam. H

Giving Carriers weapons doesn't work becuase it basically a large barge with engines. That would be like putting 16 inch battleship guns on one of the USN flattops. The ships have devoted all that space to fighters and before you guys start bitching about putting torpedoes on them, you have to have berths for the crew, areas below deck for all the fighters to rearm, areas for the ammo to be stored, the deck to launch the fighters, and all the food and other such things a floating city needs t

On ahother note I've pretty much finished a model of the Alkesh, and now I'm working on the Apophis mothership now. Dolynick, I relized that i have a top down picture of the Goa'uld space station you were talking about, if i can find a side shot of it, it won't be too hard to make.
I think

I'd say increase your number of Carriers. The Advent have the advantage in strikecraft, and don't have as amny HCs. The Advent HCs can't stand up to a Kodiak, so don't even try. Also, add some flak frigates, they can massacre enemy fighters and bombers.

The other 12 settled close by, and eventually created a large number of robots to work for them. The robots rebelled and built a fleet. The Cyclons raped the colonies, and several cap

An advantage of having a planet based defense system, is you have all that atmosphere to protect you from lasers. If its hard for lasers to get out, its hard for them to get in. The PDC would be tied into a power grid that is far mor capable then that of a mobile fleet. Each PDC could cover large areas of the planet surface, and armored far greater then a space ship, for it doesn't have to worry about mass. The PDC wouldn't have to worry about moving, so all of that space and power could be u

They are a good place to buffer you empire from enemy incursions, and they can be a useful forward culture base.

I believe that cap ships should have more health, and do more a damage. They are cap ships, and a lousy dipshit frigate flotilla shouldn't be able to take down even a level 1 cap ship. 10 cobalts have the firepower of a level 4 Kol Battleship . Comparing wet navy ships to space ships is like comparing humans to Redwoods. Tthey are nothing alike.

Mass Effect wasn't that bad. At least a 10 year old wouldn't have been able to figure it out. In fact, I didn't even know till it popped up on a Mass Effect search on YouTube about Fox News and some whole debate. And by the way, what did that girl on the show expect? Any 9 year old can lie about their age when the site can't see you...

Just a suggestion, do away completely with the Sovas in your fleet, and replace them with Kols and Mazras. You can get as many fighters/bombers as you need out of Light Carriers, and those spots for Kols and Mazras will come in handy when you're beating the shit out of the Vasari caps. Trade alot of those LFs for LFRs and more HCs/Carriers, and you'll have a great fleet. The main strategy once you realize your losing is for me to throw all of my HCs and LFs into the enemy, and get as

Just a hint freaktong, don't try matching the a smaller number of Vasari fighters against Advent fighters. Vasari have stronger fighters that deal more damage, but the Advent have many more fighters per squadron, so your stronger ships are swarmed by many more fighters.

The reason there aren't light carriers today, is becuase nothing smaller then a navy such as the USN or the Royal Navy has the resources to build both the fighters and the ships to carry them, train ground crews, and getr replacements for them. The RN and the USN don't need dipshit little carriers that don't carry as much as a full up Carrier that can project much more firepower, which is the basic reason for carriers. And think of those light carriers in the game as USS Yorktown , or

Not a specfic cap ship for mine sweeping, but we could use my suggestion and give cap ships a researchable external ordinance rack, filled with missiles to target mines. After all, why spend 6000 credits, 600 metal, and 250 crystal on a mine sweeper that has no use in combat?

1. Sbs do need more range, especially TEC and Advent, so they can actually stop something from running by them, or atleast haress them. 2.Never should their be a phase capable star base, or a star base that can be broken down and moved. I still stick with you should be able to build tugs from capital ship factories that have no shields, low health, and no weapons that can move a sb with them. 3. sbs need flak, and many more fighter squadrons. 5. The Vasari need a torpe

I don't under use bombers. If some dumbass wants to ride into my dozens of squadrons with his LFRs, and my capital ships wanting more exp, I'm more then happy to help him to meet his maker. Yet again, flaks wouldn't be a LRF counter. Flaks are anti-fighter, and fighters and frigates aren't the same thing. I use flaks as escorts for my carriers, because they are still useful in that regard. They can kill fighters and bombers, if slower then I'd like,
