I am planning two Lan parties that will feature Soase. There will be up to 6 players. I currently have only one copy and for each party, I anticipate one other person who will have one copy. I am planning on upgrading all my machines with DVD drives and will have a 1 gig LAN connection. Questions...1) Do I need to spend another $40 to allow for 6 players? Do I need a third copy of the game?2) What would be the optimal set up to allow for 6 players? A) Which
@ darkcurrent,Now that is some funny shit...did you come up with that all on your own?
What? No response to how retarded your idea of how CPU and Connection speed differences causes the desyncing problems? idiot.
That doesn't demonstrate that.
Yes it does, idiot.
I know that. I posted that cause I was googling it for more info. At first I thought they use the same architecture, though now that I check again, I see they don't.
If you needed to google for more info, I think you should shut the F(_)CK up about whether CPU frequency causes the desyncing.
Insulting the OP ain't gonna help much either. The OP (darkcurrent) deserves everything he has coming (and more in my opinion). The fact that he still hasn't been banned after his grossly inappropriate and absolutely baseless personal attacks on me as evidenced by quotes from his various posts over the past days:quoting darkcurrent from WWW Link:the_monk, do you ever get tired of getting your @$$ handed to you online? Or is getting verbally raped online a new kind of fetish I'm not aware
hat there arent alot of people interested in your wining darkcurrent. if you don't like a game, then don't play it, that simple.
I've already stopped.
Please go kill yourself and do humanity a favor you snide little piece of white trash. First off I am a fanboi of nothing. I was having a little fun at your expense get used to it. I would do it to you in person to, because quite frankly there is nothing you can do about it. Feel free to get your panties in a knot princess. I really wont care. Let me know if you need help with the whole suicide thing. After all you are wasting my perfectly good air. Ciao!
Uh oh, did my fanb
I don't really know how to respond to that. I've never had anyone be so ungracious about the effort and time I've invested in helping this community. If there is more I can do to help, I certainly don't know what that would be.
You don't help this community, you make it more idiotic. What happened to your idea that the CPU frequency or connection speed causing the desyncing problem? Please stop "helping" this community... The village idiot never hel
darkcurrent,Don't you have something better to do than posting insults in every other thread?
I would much rather play Sins of a solar empire with my bro, but since it's so buggy, we've both decided to stop playing. Instead, I now spend the time which I used to play SINS on these boards and complaining about this game.
@Kitkun
Sins only uses one core after loading textures, so CPU power has a lot to do with it. I'm coming up with the T2400 being 1.83GHz, and the Q6600 being 2.4GHz. And as the_Monk noted:
Oh god, are you that mentally retarded? That's the POINT. Me and my bro do use different frequency CPU AND the fact that very rarely can play a game without minidump and desyncing demonstrates that it's NOT A CPU ISSUE. Besides, how fast a CPU works is NOT dir
darkcurrent,There is more than enough help on these forums between the devs and many forum volunteers. There are guides for the multiplayer setup, and a multitude of troubleshooting threads which contain all of the information necessary in order to correct whatever other issues one may be experiencing. It just seems to me like you're not even interested in trying to understand/solve your issues.the Monk
Please shut the **** up with your "fixes" Are you too stupid t
Insulting people isn't going to help anything.
Did you even read what I responded to? I was not the first to insult others.
Sure, one player not playing won't hurt, but if you actually surf these forums, you'll find it's not only one. Most people only come onto the forums if they have a problem. Most who do not have a problem do not.
That's a nice assumption, any facts to back this up? Or is pulling it out of your ass much easier?

Bye. Don't let the door hit you on the ass on your way out.
You might not be so smug about this when you're trying to get online and play with other people on 1.09 or 1.05...douchbag fanboi. Sure, one player not playing won't hurt, but if you actually surf these forums, you'll find it's not only one. Not to mention the loss in sales next time stardock releases a new game.
darkcurrent,Haven't had it happen.....so I can't comment!
Denial, anger, then acceptance. Unfortunately, the_monk might be too ignorant and stupid to even realize what he should be in denial of.
Recently there has been a lot of talk about how piracy affects PC gaming. And if you listen to game developers, it apparently is a foregone conclusion - if a high quality PC game doesn't sell as many copies as it should, it must be because of piracy. Now, I don't like piracy at all. It really bugs me when I see my game up on some torrent site just on the principle of the matter. And piracy certainly does cost sales. But arguing that piracy is the primary factor in lower sales of
Sins of a Solar Empire is UNPLAYABLE as a multiplayer.darkcurrent,Unplayable how? You can't host? Your game crashes? You're experiencing lag? It's quite difficult to provide support when there is no further information given. However, I will try anyway...If you're running game version 1.05:1. Disable/uninstall all MODS while troubleshooting.2. Please make sure your OS, and all device drivers are up-to-date. Sometimes it helps to un-install old drivers (and actually un-install the d
They're not actual n00bs, but they simply get minidump and desync errors.
Once again,Since SINS is entirely P2P and the ENTIRE game sim is being run on each and every persons's system (the HOST doesn't "host" anything, just SYNCS all the games together) it is entirely possible that someone else's CPU or connection lagged everyone out to the point of desync.the Monk
If there's anything more buggy than Sins of a solar empire, it's the_monk's brain. He just gets minidumps every time his neuron tries to fire. He can't seem to get his facts
I apologize for the MP dumps. I've addressed this multiple times in other threads but they've been buried so it isn't because we are ignoring it or trying to hide it - its just impossible to comment on it everytime it reappears in a new thread. Tech support has also been in email contact with a variety of people (including some in this thread). The MP bug is 1 of 2 major bugs we are aware of and its a sync bug. Statistically, it is very rare which is why it is so difficult for us to t
How's life in 1995? Sorry, but a Q6600 w/ 4870 and 4GB will run perfectly fine with maxed out settings and huge battles. the_monk, do you ever get tired of getting your @$$ handed to you online? Or is getting verbally raped online a new kind of fetish I'm not aware of?
The best solution is to give up hope. The games been through FIVE patches and it's still as buggy as ever. I've given up hope on a working patch. I, like so many others, have stopped playing this buggy piece of sh!t. The dismal number of players online are certainly not surprising and serves to demonstrate what I'm saying... Sins of a Solar Empire is UNPLAYABLE as a multiplayer.
I don't understand why the multiplayer button exists. Perhaps it should be relabeled as "get your hopes up at a great game then get either minidump error or desyncing." The game clearly is not intended for multiple people playing the game together, and with the quality of singleplayer... it makes me regret buying Sins of a solar empire over a bronze casting of my daily poop. What's the point? Out of the 10 games I've tried to play with my bro over LAN, only 2 ends without minidumpi
the_Monk, please shut the **** up. You clearly have NO KNOWLEDGE of what the **** is making the desync problem. I've lurked around here and seen you give your sh!tty "advice" and all of them are ridiculous. Do you really believe your "fixes" work? Why would stardock pay a fleet of programmers to debug if you could fix all their issues? First it was CPU speed that was the cause, now this? You clearly have no idea what's causing the problem and your ignorance is
