I played SINS a ton back in the day, but even in 2008-2009, there was not a great following online. I think the last I really played much was after entrenchment and around the time diplomacy was released. At that time it was the casual players doing comp stomps on original sins and the hardcore gamers on diplomacy. I've been online a few times recently, but have yet to see another player waiting in the lobby. I didn't buy Rebellion ($40 is a bit stiff

So when using my Skirantra Carrier's replicate forces ability, after a few minutes the ships I've replicated disappear. I've only been using it on Carriers, but after a few both them and their strike craft vanish with no countdown or warning. Has it always been like this or did a recent patch change it?

I haven't been able to get the two expansions yet. Looks like single player for me... There are games for the original Sins, but you won't find too many 4v4 or 5v5 games. Instead you'll see 1v1's and 2v2's. The good news is that most of those players are new and not skilled pros.&n

I've been on my usual 3-4 months play seriously followed by a few month break. Decided to stop in and see how many people were online 6pm Sunday. It was about 70 people between Ent and Diplo combined. That is pretty low compared to when I bugged out just before Christmas, where it was about 150 for Ent and 2-3 for Diplo beta. I may rejoin the fold eventually but I'm in the market for a new game as well. Civ4 really didn't work out for me...

I will say another thing in Ferdie's defense. I've never seen him stay in a game after his fleet has been crushed. I've also never seen him drag out a game by running his fleet around in circles and loop-de-loops forever. At the end of a few games with him all his allies have been crushed and he still has a strong fleet and econ (and we all know why know too), but if he gets beat and is obviously outmatched he will leave. If he thinks he can stick around and beat every
Thats the same as saying the best time to figure out how to play basketball is during your first game. Strategy guides are great because alot of things online happen so fast and hinge on such small details it can be almost impossible to figure out without having it explained to you after the fact.&nbs

One quick question, are you guys playing on entrenchment with quick start enabled? That is the difference between a glass of orange juice for breakfast and a triple expresso. Also venture online to ICO and find some games, there you may find you are the one getting rolled for making seemingly simple mistakes :). Spoken in jest of course, but there is always a bigger fish out there.

I all comes down to the simple fact that the person who can do more at once will have an advantage. If you can manage one battle at a time and go up against someone who can manage 2 battles, a seperate expanding party, research and continue to build frigates you will be at a disadvantage. That being said you aren't going to get good at multiplayer by playing against a computer forever.

Hold on there bud, I'm taking some time away from online gaming to make one. It should be ready next week sometime.

On Galaxy forge create two wormholes, click on one to select it then hold ctrl and select the other one. This will create a normal phase lane between to two. Select the phase lane then edit it in the control box and change the connection from phase to wormhole. On your map it will change from grey to blue. If you leave it at grey any upgraded ship can travel between the two like a pair of normal planets. Once it is blue a ship has to have wormhole jumps rese

On multiplayer this is usually used as a stall tactic. Sometimes it will be because you have a large fleet but a smaller econ, other times the person is hoping to get reinforcements from an ally, and other times he is just trying to get under your skin. I recommend doing 2 things... 1. Only chase him with enough ships to deal with the threat. Don't send 50 ships chasing 15. If half your fleet can deal with his running fleet, send the rest on the offensive and m

Dunovs become gold when they turn level 6 and can use flux field on your other capital ships. All your other capital ship's abilities are suddenly only limited by their cool down time. The problem is before then the only ability it has worth it's anti-matter is magnetize, and that is situational. Restore shields is far less effective at keeping ships alive then Hoshikos/Repair bays. It also has r

If so, after pressing "enable mod" did you press "apply changes"
Yeah I've used mods before, just never messed around with them much. I'm still tinkering around seeing if I can get it to work, so hopefully I'll figure it out.
The file

Alright, I bored to death with 4v4 and 5v5 pug games, so I'm playing around with modding tonight. I am basically having 2 problems. I am following the tutorial found in the Forge Tool 3 to the letter right now but it isn't helping. First I try to do the "Delete Advent from the game" Mod outlined in the tutorial by deleting the file "PlayerPsi". But when I go to play on the Mod, Advent is still an option to play. Secondly I am playing around with the text vers

Yeah I don't understand how it takes 2 hours to kill a cap. But he is alluding to another problem online. The game won't end if 1 person on a team remains online AND there is one computer is still alive. In a 5v5 if one guys dies completely but doesn't leave your team has to go fight out those 2-3 entrenched AI's that you bypassed after the people left. GreekGeek is just a smurf as far as I remember, so odds are you won't be seeing "him" ever again. I'l
Some online gaming sites have the notion of ranked games vs. unranked games. Ranked games count. Unranked games don't. They're just for fun, socializing, and you can play around with goofy settings like unfair random maps or 2v4. If you DC a ranked game, it's always a loss. It is you who chose it to "count". If you don't like it, beat up your internet provider to give you a more reliable conne

Yes a uninstall/reinstall will probably bring you back to 1.0 if you bought the game in stores. Impluse won't let you go to earlier versions but sometimes people will host the files online if you search for them. Of course they will onlylet you move up in patch level, not down.

Ha that is retarded but now I know why about half the people in ICO do it. And I thought it was lame when people were pressing the quit button instead of the surrender button... (when there is nothing left for the comp to take over)

20 Replies 19,919 Views

So let me get this straight... If someone has 100 games, 60 wins and 15 losses and they press quit their record goes to 101-60-15 but... If someone with the same record of 100-60-15 pulls the plug and disconnects, their record stays the same at 100-60-15? Is that the advantage of disconnecting?
