IskatuMesk, I am completely astonished by the amount of work you put into your models. The ships look amazing! I am awaiting your SoaSe mod with baited breath! Bram,

In this folder Vista: C:\Users\"your username"\AppData\Local\Ironclad Games\Sins of a Solar Empire\ or XP: C:\Documents and Settings\'user name'\AppData\Local\Ironclad Games\Sins of a Solar Empire\ There will be some mod folders open the one that fits the version of your game and make a new folder with
Hey guys, Simple question for the modders: How do you go and use custom music in the game? For example, is it possible to play the Star Wars: The Imperial March song in the game when I attack a hostile world or enemies attack my planet? Thanks in advance!
I agree with the overthrowing of culture ideas mentioned already. It's like real-life politics work. If a political party comes out stronger during the voting period than the current political party, that party then becomes the new "leading" party in the Government. If my culture overthrows another planet, I'd rather see it as my government taking over that planet rather than kicking them out and let me invest a hog of resources to make that planet mine.
What about assassins? You pay an assassin to play as an undercover fleet in the enemy's fleet. When you're about to go into battle, the assassins board the enemy's capital ships and detonate it with some C4 :D Just kidding! Looking forward to this expansion pack. Was about to pre-order it when I read "2010". So I decided to wait untill some teasers or more information are being released.
I am just trying to get to the issue, sorry for sounding crass. Does it still happen? Have you attempted to recreate, or watch the replay? This might help us lock down what happened and solve the issue. I have attempted to recreate but I get nothing.
Sorry, it wasn't my intention to sound rude :) I tried it out again yesterday after I noticed I forgot to put the Galaxy Forge map in its place. The menus still haven't changed a bit, but
who knows, while you were enjoying the view, the enemy may have been next door and jumped you, with that few of planets it could have happened.
Uuh, my fleet was stationed at my home planet, how could I've ost it after 2 minutes if there was no enemy in that system?
what map did you play?
First time I played "Mars Wars" and nothing was there, it was like an emty piece of space. Thereafter, I played a random small map with maybe around 9 planets when the problem occured...
can you give me your checksum number? its the number on the right of the menu when you activate the mods it should be 34724853 if not then it might not have downloaded or unzipped properly believe me you will see a lot of differences, from menu on up ps make sure there are no other mods running for accurate checksum results
Checksum number is correct. I just forgot to clic
It says that I can't host either, but if I turn on Alloy, I find that I actually can! So try it out. Peak hours will have up to around 150 players online... but mostly in games.
That's the problem. Alloy option is turned on, yet the system says it still cannot find my IP. :S Anyway, I'm running Sins v1.17 and Entrenchment v1.03. Hoping to have a good match soon :)
Tried out the mod just now, and the new effects look really tasty! On a first start-up I loaded a map called Mars Wars, but no planets showed up. So I made myself a mini-map and it seem to work. I'm not fully aware what's different, I maybe have to go through the list, but so far the only things I noticed are different are weapons effect...
Went my first time online, but did not started a game because I wanted to explore the whole online system first. It seems that I cannot hot any games, and although it says I need to activate a system for it to recognize my IP, this option is already ticked on. But anyway, I saw between 10-20 players online, with 2 active games available for me to join. Is this kind of number usual? I just want to make sure my copy works as it should, and that I'm missing out on some great games ;)
Yes, register both of your products with your serial keys and update them to the latest versions. (v1.17 for Sins, v1.03 for Entrenchment). To play Entrenchment, you simply click "Play Entrenchment" from the main menu in Sins, or simply choose Sins: Entrenchment from your start-menu.
Fully equipped turrets with armor and hull updates can hold their own against a fleet when they are packed around a Starbase with some hangars, that's what I've seen so far. I'm surprised how well my turrets completely smashed a fleet of my opponent with some mines and my Starbase. What I've also sen today is that fully upgraded Ogrovs and LRMs do serious damage against Starbases and large structures. I made a seperated fleet of fully upgraded Ogrovs and LRMs and they took out a Starb
So I don't have to buy a new copy for my new system then? That'd be awesome. I just read a topic a few days ago about a guy seeling his copy to his friend, but the key didn't seem to work or something so I thought I wasn't able to share a copy between more than one system. Thanks!
Yeah, I think I'm going for the digital Bundle pack :)
So due to the fact that I'm planning on a new system for the game, and because registration keys are not supported shared by Stardock, I guess I'm going to need to buy a new copy for that system. I was wondering what the differences are between a digital download of SOASE and with the retail box. Will a digital download come with additional content like the tech poster and a manual found in the retail boxes? I've stashed all my game boxes somewhere at home, I haven't seen them
Yeah, updating Entrenchment might be the best thing to do. I'm currently running version 1.1 and every mod seems to be for either v1.2 or v1.3 so I guess I need to update :) thanks!
Thanks for all the tips guys! :) *EDIT* Just completed the game with ease. All I had to do was make my fleet bigger, that's all. He surprised me sometimes by showing up with a fleet of 2 caps and illums out of nowhere, but he never managed to penetrate through my minefield back up with turrets and my Starbase. Once I got my fleet up with Ogrovs, Flack Frigates, Carriers, Kodiaks, a KOL at lvl 8 and a Marza at lvl 5, he was pretty much beaten. My Marza gr
Hey guys, Yesterday I succesfully updated my copy of SOASE after not playing it for 6 months. During that time I was in utter jealousy of the expansion pack as I didn't have a VISA card. But times have changed and yesterday I succesfully installed Entrenchment v1.1. I decided to get on with it rather than updating this and that, maybe I didn't like it, but I love it! However, I do am having troubles. Firstly, I'm currently playing on Point Black (
Bram as for you 3 things I can think ofve. 1: Your file was corrupted somewhere is the process of instaling it. Try redownloading it. 2: You instaled the mod wrongly. Or you migth be having a conflic with and other mod if you tryign to run mroe then 1 mod. 3: Their might be a problem with your instalation of sins. You migth want to verify it via impulse and try to fix it or reinstall sins completely. without further knowlege of your rig or mo
Hey guys, I'm playing Entrenchment v1.1 right now, installed it yesteday, succesfully. I saw this mod on YouTube and it seems awesome. I downloaded the v1.3 download link provided some posts above figuring the V1.1 mod was good for V1.3, so it should be vica versa as well. I've extracted the downloaded to the correct path, but when I click "enable mod" the whole game just freezes up and I have to manually shut off my computer. Any thoughts?
Comets, yes! One should have the ability to research the ability to make your fleet land upon a comet to enter the enemies solar system without being noticed. Badass!
advent cap ships are notoriously weak at dps. they are support. I tried rushing caps with advent once and lost 2 caps to 1 marza. They aren't worth anything without their awesome fleet buffs.
I think the Progenitor Mothership kicks ass. Together with the Marza, it's my favourite ship :)
I led the carriers away from the battle to avoid them being destroyed and I told all my caps, frigates and LRM's to focus fires on the enemy caps but to no avail. I was surprised I was destroyed because my fleet was easily twice as large...
