Hi, iv'e added a simple new race in diplomacy 1.1 (a copy of the vasari) and only changed the name and the portraits. The name ingame is good, the race is selectable but the images are blank, it's just plain white. Everything seems fine. Iv'e did the exact same way in entrenchement and it shows perfectly but in diplomacy it doesn't...... After some testing, i've come to the conclusin that diplomacy does NOT support any new custom portraits texture file. No

Thx :) Also i have one last question. It doesn't have to do with the topic though but i don't want to start a whole thread for one simple question. What is the name of the texture files for the ingame hud interface? you know the metallic hud and not the buttons

As long as it have more defences and most importantly starbases, that's good for me :D yeah that's what i' doing :) i tried to change the fighters weapons but when i test them ingame. They are unarmed like if they don't have weapons anymore. They juste go next to the enemy and fly next to them and that's all. Is there a way to change the weapon types of fighters and capital ships? I want to replace the phase missiles of vasari squads with the blue lasers of the advent squads. And then changing their damage. Same thing with capital ships

So can someone tell me what's the problem with the model? EDIT: Yep it was the tagent map. I added one like the tutorials said and it works pretty well. But now y model is a little too dark XD The light from the star doesn't seem to light up the thing. How can i edit the tangent map so that there can be more light on it?

Hi i've managed to import a custom model ingame with the textures without any errors. But the shadows seems to be odd: [IMG]http://i30.photobucket.com/albums/c344/Joebenz/006.jpg[/IMG] Does this have to do with the tangent map? it's something i skipped in softimage because i don't know what a tangent map is. Can someone tell me what is a tangent map? and how can i fix the shadows?

i've got a problem. When i play some maps with the entrenchement version of the mod (1.05 with the 0.9951 patch) some maps seem to crash. It's not a minidump problem but i directly get a screen saying YOU HAVE BEEN DEFEATED or something like that. I then click continue and half of the planets aren't there. I think that the mod doesn't load the new planets like the Terra, Saturn, Mars, Toxic etc... i don't know why. Can someone help?

Everything now works well with the portraits. Well the player portrait selection window is still the same (the 3 races) but i'll leave it like that. What i don't understand now is about importing custom models in the game. I don't understand the whole thing about XSI , non tris and non quads etc... i already have the models textured in 3ds max.

I'll be checking that later since i got another problem. The player setup window is perfect but when i'm in a new game, the portraits are completly off. i tried everything but didn't fixed. I think i now know why some mods with new races didn't bother making the player setup window. I think i'll put it back to 3races selection and just make a new "player_portrait_large", a copy of the original one and just add another row and see how it looks. i think i'll just leave t

Yeah i removed that thing you mentioned :) i fixed it. Thanks guys! i've deleted the playerrace1.entity and playerrace2.entity (since i lonly want one race, i kept the race3) So now there is only 4races with is what i wanted. But i go player setup, it's a little bit messed up: [IMG]http://i30.photobucket.com/albums/c344/Joebenz/001.jpg[/IMG] i managed to replace my custom pics with the race3 ones in the "Races_Player_Portrait_Large_0002.dds" but i don't know what file i should edit to fix this.

Hi, i've just started to learn how to mod and reading the tutorials in here. However there are alot of things that doesn't seem to be explained here. i'm confused and things seems to be scattered and some tutorials leads to a "file not found" link. So i'm gonna post all my questions in here and hope someone can awnser me and give me proper working links.
