Your best bet might to be let someone look at the map itself to have any idea why that may have come about. At least if it has anything to do with the map design. In the meantime, I suppose you could check to see if the map has any one way phase lanes (I believe technically possible via wormholes, I forget if actually possible otherwise), double check the spawn chances of planets and lanes... and that's all I can think of off the top of my head that might prevent the ai from

I think I'm gonna have to more or less agree with BadTune on this one. Most of the ships make more sense to be stationary (primarily the caps and support/long range types. Well, and siege, since they're suppose to sit there bombing worlds.). Which generally just leaves the Anti-SC, light frigates, and heavy cruisers and their counter parts as the logical mobile units. Though I have also thought that it might be nice if those mobile ships also had at least one w

Well, DLed your map, dropped it in the Galaxy Forge folder, and it seems to be working fine. I did change the occupied world from being already owned, though, thought that might have been the issue as it did seem a tad odd. But switched that back just to double check, and the map loaded up just fine (even got the space ponies achievement out of it. Heh.) Also ran with all victory conditions off, and on, no issues. So, not sure what's causing your auto-defeat, unl

Personally I like the look of the Eradica more than the Coronata, but I just like wings. If I had to make an excuse as to why flying statues: the Psi are pseudo-religious, so the ships would be a representation of how each imagines the Unity made manifest. Which, of course, is the perfect way to bear down upon those heathens who threaten their worlds.

Unfortunately, a single wormhole cannot exit into multiple others, much as it'd be nice if it could randomly choose exits from multiple. That's pretty much all you've done wrong. They're a one entrance, one exit type deal if you want them going both ways. Your A and C are essentially one way streets, so sadly if you want to have return routes for them, you'll need two more wormholes.
What if the pirates sorta took a leaf out of the Vasari Loyalist's book?
Personally I'd like to see something akin to that myself. Maybe even ditch the whole pirate base planet entirely in favor of a piecemeal titan, starbase, or flagship capital (just to withstand some punishment from incoming fleets) that acts as a mobile home like the Vasari will be getting. Without the whole planet destroying

The vid SemazRalan posted is actually scenes from a movie called "Star Wreck: In the Pirkinning". It's actually a rather hilarious B5 vs Star Trek parady movie, but that vid does a good job of highlighting the combat scenes in it. Actually free to DL from their webpage too. But, forewarning, it's not in english (there&#39

So out of semi-random curiosity, how's that planet icon idea coming along? Kinda looking forward to that little addition/add-on/whatever it turns out to be. Though I don't remember if it got finished, or set aside for the time being, or whatnot.

Well, since I only check this every few days or so, I'm a bit behind, and since Ryat already said the advent ship stays as is, this is probably irrelevant anyway. But some of you were talking about the idea of inverting the rapture on that ship, and thinking it may or may not look better depending. Figured I'd at least give you some idea of what that might actually look like from a ship I pieced together some time back. Take it or leave it as you please. <img

You *could* actually go about doing this, in a very slow, long, drawn out process that would honestly be easy to mess up at any point along the way. You could start, sorta, with the idea of copy/paste and pray, but you'd only wanna do that with non-duplicate files. For all duplicate ones, you'd want to essentially merge them, or pick and choose which to actually use. So it's basically a lot of text editing going to take place. And even if you don't miss something, add

While unfortunately I don't think the debris field would be doable, you might be able to set up an ability that does damage upon death. Though you'd probably have to give that ability to every single ship for it to work the way you're saying. The TEC starbase is probably a good place to start, since it's got that damaging self destruct. 'Course, there might be other ways too, this is just the first that came to mind.

I suppose it may be a tad late in the reply. But, hooahguy , note the red and blue skybox changes as you were zooming in? Most likely that planet is in two 'star systems', or sometimes on the edge of two. It's a problem that's existed for as long as I can remember, though I don't know why, it just doesn't come up often. But whenever the skybox for two s

Sorta needed it for the bk/ve stuff), and I must say, the performance improvement is phenomenal. It was actually rather amusing playing DS with the effects settings completely on max (well, except for the cam

Well, with having a fair idea of how much is needed to add just a single ship to the game, there's a number of simple mistakes that could have been made as well. Most of which tend to be little more then typos or minor oversights (like did you remember to adjust the count values where applicable in the files you altered? Update your manifest files properly?). Most of these simple mistakes should be caught by the dev.exe as well, though, so it really IS your best friend, lik

Well, pretty much just read through this whole thread.. haven't looked at it since it was virtually new... Heh... I'll definitely have to agree with wanting a campaign, and editor to go with it. Storytelling is just fun. Not really necessary for Sins, obviously, but fun. More mod-ability in any regard is good. 'Course, we know Sins has just about as much as anyone could want already, but there's always those limits we hit that we flail at to get a

There is a way to make custom colors, besides coloring the logos. In the Window folder, there's a Color.color file. Open it with a text editor like any other, and you'll see a big list of options and color codes next to them. You'll want to look specifically at all the playerColor:# entries. Just change the values after the ff in each to whatever color code you desire, and you'll change the selectable colors accordingly.

Well, unless it's changed, and I certainly haven't tried, it's unfortunately not possible to join a game midgame, without loading a saved game. If that's done, the new player is most likely to be taking over an AI's position (though obviously not necissarily so), and would already have all the stuff the AI had gained prior. Though it would be nice if the ability to join a game already in progress were added. Or especially rejoin a game should you accidently f

Being mostly an Advent player, I really haven't gotten a good look at most of the other envoy ships, but personally I really like the look of the Advent's. Although I do agree the big white bulbs look a little off to me. Kinda like they don't have a real texture on them. 'Course, they may very well only have a temporary texture at present too, who knows! Would be kinda neat if they could somehow be made clear, or transluscent, and the blinking light at the end of them

Already pre-ordered it myself, and although I haven't gotten much time to really play it since DLing it, I really liked how it looks like things will be functioning. Pretty sure I'll be playing DS through it regularly once both are out and stable. Entrenchment caused brain damage? Almost makes me pity that I wasn't around to be part of that, I can't help but wonder just how bad it had to be for that. Heh. But considering how it turned out in the end, that bodes

I don't know, personally I really like this particular weapon. True, it's not really intended for use beyond a support weapon, mostly granting your culture bonuses into enemy worlds that your fleet is attacking. But you can relatively easily culture kill a planet and it's surrounding wells even when you're nowhere near to attack if you have more then one and repeatedly fire. It takes time, but it has the advantage of being overlooked or ignored becau
