Sorry if I should'a posted this in the 'Official Support thread' but my problem was mentioned here so... I just installed the new Deskscapes update (excited XP user) and I read the stuff about the AGP drivers but I'm running ATI PCIE- x16 and man does it stop the whole computer, pretty much can't even move the mouse it's so slow. If you need any sys. or card info let me know what you need and where I can find it. Is this a driver issue? Is it maybe something else

Hey k10w3. I suppose the easiest way, or one of them, to cut out the glows would be to use the marquee selection tool, top left corner, and drag your box out to select the middle section of the button. Whatever size you want. Then right click and select 'Layer Via Cut'. In your layers to the right you'll see the cut out pieces. Hope it helps.
Well... if you are using XP then the path for your themes is: C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Documents\Stardock\CursorFX\Themes For Vista... I belive it's: C:\Program Files\Stardock\CursorXP\Themes Hope it helps. And you can just delete from there.
I do know that Windowblinds is backwards compatible, so previous versions skins are usable on WB6. No you shouldn't be using only 6 on 6, it's made to use older skins like that. As for Vista... depends on how the skin was created. Some Vista skins might work but I wouldn't count on it most of the time. It won't 'mess anything up' but they just might not work. Your re-col
Sorry GhostMale. I'm a new user with all brand new paid versions installed and I still get this problem from time to time. Of course there may be an XP update I haven't recieved yet, but I don't think so. And maybe I'm just a push over, but it really doesn't happen that frequenly and when it does it doesn't seem to bother me that much. [e digicons]:X[/e]
Yea just to be clear, I'm not worried about 'my' usage I'm worried about the general overall accessability of the blind for the ones that download it. So are you saying that it's possible for one's computer to not support per pixel frames and therefore not be able to use the skin I made? If I do use PPF's should I then upload images into both UIS2 and PPF sections in Skinstudio just to make sure I'm covered for everyone's computers?
For this contest, or just in general I guess, when I worry about how "user-friendly" or "usable" a skin is, I'm wondering about the difference between UIS1, UIS2 and per-pixel frames. I'm not really going to touch UIS1 but if I want a skin to be as accessable as possible are per-pixel frames a worse idea than UIS2? Is there any way that PPF's might cause problems or should it and UIS2 pretty much work either way. I've seen skins that use only UIS2 and I've seen skins that apply im
As a relatively new member who has recieved much help from all of your tutorials RomanDA, I just want you to know that there are people out here that really appriciate what you're doing. Especially those like me who think in more 'visual' terms as an artist and don't do as well with coding. Thank you. [e digicons][/e]
Hey! It's back. Thanks whatever you did Zubaz. [e digicons][/e] And gunslinger.
Hm... mines gone too. Where'd it go? {bemused sadness}
I've come across this as well, but only a few times when using Firefox, not as frequent as bachbeet's saying. For me I realized that it was doing it when firefox wouldn't open up already maximized. If I just placed my cursor over the place where the "maximize" button "should" be and clicked, it maximized Firefox and restored the Toolbar. It's all still there, just hiding.
DrJBHL: "but it's 'meh' compared to the creative stuff here (WC)" Yea I'm not really caring for some reason, I'm still far more impressed with what I can already do with DesktopX and WindowBlinds and the such than I am with what I'm seeing in 7.
When you hit the "download from Wincustomize.com" button, and the webpage opens... do you see "WindowBlinds" at the top of the web page, with the little picture of the painters palette on top of a small grey square? All the gallery entries on that page should have that icon in the lower right corner of the little picture. Just makin' sure they're all WindowBlinds files. Right now, you should see things like "Broken Aero ver1.1" and "Data 22XP" as possible skins.

That really doesn't seem like the best way to ever achieve anything it seems to me. Even if you think progress is not a reality, is passive inactiveness the good opposition? [e digicons]:X[/e]
You're right though Island Dog. [e digicons]5*[/e] And as an obvious lefty liberal I can say that no one should ever be afraid to speak for those reasons. Or any quite frankly. And it's retarded to be viewed differently, or treated differently like that. Freedom of speech and beliefs. And civil respect if not agreement.
No prefs or settings needed on this end, it just started working after I installed the update through Impulse, as it hadn't before. Strange. You've emailed Stardock right? www.stardock.com/support They're usually pretty good about solving problems.
Eloquently put Excalpius. Conservatism can be valuable for those "checks and balances". Though I'm not sure that fear is the best reason to put the "breaks" on progress. Great motivator maybe, but horrible reasoning.
DPCloud has a good point. I'm glad he's voting Democrat. [e digicons]O:)[/e] I'm voting Republican because I believe higher taxes means my hard earned money belongs more to the government than it does to me. I'm voting Republican because freedom of speech is fine as long as my speech is what the conservatives thinks it should be. I'm voting Republican because all the money we spend in Iraq and all the dead soldiers and civilians are an acceptable p
Yes the windowblinds update has already gone up. I don't know of a way to update through Stardock central but if you can use Impulse, there should be a windowblinds update that now says Version: 6.30.100. This is the one that 'correctly' shows the skeleton start bar animation on XP. At any rate if you don't see the update I would contact support and reference said version number above.
Yea seriously.... you seem to be having a lot of problems lately supershaft1961. And you don't seem to be taking it very well either. This is really a lot of 'issues' to be falling on one person. Cursed?? [e digicons]>_>[/e]
I'm more excited for XP DeskScapes than I am for almost anything right now.[e digicons]:D[/e] I'm tired of using SWF's on my desktop. That and TheMasterBaron's GUIC Dream entries are freakin' out of this world.
I was filling out the 08' Member Survey and it asked if I was a subscriber, I almost just said yes but then I wasn't actually sure. I seem to have thought I was, but is Member different than Subscriber? What was it I got with the ObjectDesktop Ultimate? Is that a WinCustomize subscription or a Stardock subscription? If I click on Subscriber Resources all I get is the page asking me to subscribe, but some of the "benefits" of subscription listed I seem to alread
Just in case this might help... If you right click the ObjectDock system tray icon, click MyDocks and click CreateNewDock, add the clock from the docklets section. Make the background transparent or whatever you want under the appearance section, and even right click it and say Always on Top, and position it anwhere on the screen. That leaves you with just a clock, zoomable or not on mouseover and pretty easy to see. And you can make as many as you want. Or...&
With the GUIC drawing more attention to the 'Dream' animated wallpapers I'm wondering more and more what the "Coming Soon" really means on the Dreamscapes webpage when referring to XP compatability. I really. really really want to create content for this lievly format. But alas... [e digicons]:S[/e] Me and my XP digress.
Yup Yup. Had to do 2! count em' 2 full system restores in the past two weeks. But it's running so smooth right now I'm glad it all got messed up.
