For strategy games if you can get your hands on Populus: The Begining. My dad is NOT a gamer. But he spent a very long time playing that one obsessively. First Person Shooters: You can not get any easier than Prey, which is also pretty good value on Steam.

Jesus if I had known the game worked like that I could have saved a lot of time. I particularly recall that Asteroid Belt mission in HW1: just build 12 harvesters and watch them enhale asteroids before they have a chance to hit.
EAW mods you say... god that game was fun. Ground Combat was terrible though. The thing is the Mods on hand arent like the HL mods. Those were almost completely different games thanks to heavy, heavy modding. Offerings like TFC and CS 1.6 were a lot more offer than say, Skin Mods, and Weapon Mods. Methinks I'll have to ponder on something radically different to do with the Iron Engine ;)
Thats really as much to blame on the manufacturers as it is the developers XselenS. Wouldn't it be grand if Intel or AMD found a way to automatically split the workload between cores. And then comes Quantum Computing - then, we're ALL screwed.
I highly recommend going back. The payoff of getting that degree is well worth the costs . I've done some multithreading - I wrote some threaded code for an open source project, and for one of my homework assignments I'm using threading. The low level stuff can be pretty tough, but increasingly there are more techniques and tools that can used to abstract that away a bit. Personally, I think multithreading isn't that unco
Perhaps I'm just missing something but I'm a little surprised to see how many calls for 'moons' pop up in the suggestion-box. What exactly are they going to add to the game that we don't already have in some capacity? Nearly every description I've seen for this feature makes them sound like either just another small planettype with a gravity well or a bonus to tactical/logistic slots for existing planets. What is it
From a programming point of view it should be incredibly simple to implement. But at present its not something you can mod - it would have to be added into the Class Tables of the source code first. Before that though I'd like to see bomber and fighter levels.
At first, my housemate pirated it. Then we played it. Then we organised a 6 player LAN. After 2 weeks, we realised just how guilty we felt, especially after reading Stardock articles about their company policy...Jesus Wept :p and here I am.
World in conflict also handled this concept very, very well.
.....Tried testing it with a colony Frigate? The Egg's colonize ability might be to blame somehow. Never know.
The only known outstanding performance issue I'm aware of is in relation to the Advent shield bubble ability.
Those Defender Frigates? Pain-In-The-Ass. Even on the 4850. I'll try running a Multiverse game on the laptop tonight and see what happens.
I'd rather spend resources on frigates like the Disciple vessel - Stealing antimatter from enemies and transfering it to the ships that need it.
Methinks the OP has been spoiled by Team Fortress 2. I'm baffled as to how that business model is working out for them. At $40, Sins has already provided more enjoyment than your typical offering. And if you look at the average expansion pack, they usally tally in far in excess of $9.99, usually at least $29.99. So I can't consider sins a ripoff. Yes, I would like to see a campaign system or a more in depth mission creation method, but I guess there's your missing $20 o
I beleive there was a murder some years ago over the in-game death in Star Wars Galaxies, when a Sith Lord player was killed by his Apprentice, and had all his items taken from him. Could be wrong.
I've only played one game on ICO and had to quit for performance issues :/ I just assume by clicking Surrender that I incurred a legitimate loss.
So this is a bug?
Now that youve started talking about AI I've started thinking about the robot guys from GalCiv - maybe thats who the Vasari are running from :D
you mean windowed mode? Either way it wont run in full screen on my laptop :/ dont know why
Hexidecimal. Gotcha.
It happens. Your Eastern Front is under heavy attack. Your Main fleet is on the Western Front about to make a new conquest. So you wait until the planet is Locked Down, build a Phase Stabiliser and get the hell out of Dodge. Problem though: After the Stabiliser is built, it doesnt seem to work. Did someone forget to put in the batteries? Have the fabricators tried turning it off then on again? Whatever the case I dont understand why when my stabil
And you also further avoid orbital defenses, and phase inhibitors, depending on how well they're placed.
I strongly regret having to drop out of college before we got on to mult-threading, I would have loved to follow this :(

Can't remember what I piloted. I just remember the Reactor was Online, the Sensore were online, Weapons were online, and apparently, all systems were nominal
does it matter that the yahoo adress i registered with stardock doesnt actually exist though? I registered it with stardock as a .com instead of a .co.uk and yahoo gave me a giant 2 month runaround before deciding to say fuck you its your problem and kicked me in the face with their energy legs. In fairness i shouldnt have corresponded with them through my gmail. bad political move.
