The other thing is that my appdata file is not in the user files its in the folder for Sins? So

Cpt_Siddy : I dont have internet yet matey, so as soon as i am onilne i WILL be playing multiplayer
Ok then thanks, I did think that it would depend on a lot of other things i just kinder wanted a bit of direction on what an ideal defensive fleet shoud have and offensive fleet should have. I mean is a fleet that has about 100 different kinds of ship in it a good offensive fleet? I know... it would depend on the AI and what i intend to do, so i would say it would be for killing AI fleets, planet killing and destroying enemy infrastructure. Would that be diff
Oh yeah im playing on v 1.05 and i know its a bit generic and it would depend on the map and other things so any suggestions would be welcome
Ok.... ive been playing a while now, I wouldnt say im great but i would say that ive learnt alot in playing against multiple hard AI's and reading and posting questions on this forum. Ive been concentrating on my achievements, you know defeat 2 hard AI's n all that not doing too bad but still not getting anywhere very fast. I have a small - medium sized defensive fleet (about 20 enforcers, 15 carriers, 20 lrm's, 10 overseers and 10 subverters) is that a good sized defensive fleet? Does i
Thanks mate, theres alot of help there so i will be keeping all of that in mind when i go home! cheers! [e digicons][/e]
Aha! Thanks guys, all this seemed pretty confusing to me but after reading this thread i think i will be experimenting with this tonight. I take it that by exploiting the black market more it can turn the tide in your favour if you put the extra credits to good use. Im not exactly new to the game and i have been coping fine without this extra knowledge but now i think i may have found something that might help against multiple hard AI's as soon as i have mastered that then i
With regards to spreading your fleet too thin, in my limited experience i find that having a defensive and offensive fleet works well but it only really works against one AI because if your fighting 2 AI's and you only concentrate on 1 and only 1 then the other AI is going to get alot stronger and eventually attack you with a large fleet as i found out recently!! I hope that helps, enjoy playing
Also upgrading your emergency facilities increases the health of your planet if for some reason you dont have defenses there yet.
Im quite new myself, what i would say is that hangar bays and repair bays are the best for a static defense. Choke planets are the ones you want to really beef up with static defenses, you know ones that are highly contested with lots of phase lanes. Also phase stabilisers are very handy 2 or 3 of those work wonders. Also having a small defensive fleet works well too the benefit is obviously freeing up your main fleet to go out on the offensive. What ive found in my s
Thanks for tips guys, i will be putting them to good use tonight!
Ive recently beaten hard 1v1 on a small map, which i was quite proud of! [e digicons][/e] Having gotten a boost in confidence i immediately tried against 2 hard AI's, locked teams and on a large map with 3 stars. It started well and i wasnt attacked once, so i decided to send a large fleet to the enemies system but as i was concentrating on one AI the other was getting stronger and decided to start raiding my home system, obviously i had a
Ok my faves go like this: TEC: The Kol battleship, because it is damn hard to take down and does alot of damage Advent: Has to be Radiance for it firepower Vasari: The almighty Space Egg of doom! Or the Marauder for the stabilise phase space ability So on that note, Vasari rule..... and humans well, theyre just plain ugly and damn crude!
I just wanted to know if there was any really good strategies for the Advent apart spamming ilums? I like the Sova rush, i tried it against easy AI and loved it, i havent had chance to try the subversion rush yet and i just thought that they might be one for Advent as well?
I dont have internet just yet, im in the process of convincing my girlfriend its a good idea! So as soon as i do i will be playing MP, probably get my arse handed to me but i'll give it a go. Yeah and i will updating to 1.1 as soon as i am online
WOW very very good post. Thanks for all that info. Really helps cos i havent found a very indepth description of the abilites caps have so thanks mongoose
Ha ok then..... i take it you dont like RA very much, I guess its cos people on MP exploit it a bit but i thought that was just people using a strategy, is that no the aim of the game here? Anyways is there a viable strategy to counter RA? I mean apart from blowing the living day lights out of the player before they have chance to mass it..... Fair enough though, i bet it does get pretty annoying when people start saying they are pro just cos they managed to get RA running whi
Ha that should say 2 hard AI's! Not that it matters though!
Oh ive just realised, in the game im playing against to hard AI's i have my home system and then another 2 planets in the enemy system and i have phase gates there but i cant get my fleets from my home system to the other system using my phase gates. Is it not possible to use them for travel between systems or is there something im missing? Thanks again
Aha! thanks for your help guys. RA is really good when you have about 10 of them going but when im trying to make a small fleet of subverters or overseers and ive just scuttled about 10 enforcers for them and before ive got chance to start them off another load of ships turn up before i get the chance and i lose all that fleet capacity it does get pretty annoying!! So thanks for the tips!
Hi all, ive been playing for about a month now and absolutely loving this game! Im taking it easy by playing against the AI to develop my tactics, I have beaten easy, normal (and hard once!) I like to play with different races to find better strategies. Recently i was playing Vasari, who in my opinion are one of the strongest races in the game when i came upon a small problem with RA, i had maxed out my fleet capacity playing against 2 hard AIs, obviously i couldnt build anymore&nbs
Hahaha! Im quite new to the game and the forum, so i was taken in for a moment.... until i clicked the link. I really wanted to know what it is that the mighty Vasari are so scared off that they had to abandon their homeworlds.
In my experience of playing against normal AI, i never seem to have a descent fire fight. As soon as the cap ships are gone he runs like a child chasing the ice cream van! Ive been trying to perfect my game against normal AI just wondered if hard AI stays n fights like a man?
