The advise about vassari colonizing quickly seems at odds with the rule of thumb that you shouldn't expand too quickly. Sounds like I am doing something wrong.

Didn't know about that effect with the fleet upgrade. I thought I was preordering units. In other games you could overfill the que without affecting the current builds
That isn't what I'm talking about. If that ability is disabled the progenetor shields don't regenerate at all.
I've noticed that the progenitor doesn't regenerate shields on its own. Is this some sort of bug?
Not sure how much this helps, but I've found that turning off the auto attack option for those ships moving is helpful for this.
$50,000 internet bucks to all who stop posting.
But does that graphic make it look like the ship is vacuming the planet? Is there a mod that changes the ships to look like something from space balls?
[quote quoting="post"] 1. Are transporters worth it or should I mix in some enforcers instead? 2. I have pretty much completely shunned Overseers... am I missing something worthwhile? 3. I have become more stingy with my research since my Advent thread but, besides important units, phase missle upgrades, and the occasional shield/hull/health upgrade as extra credits permit, are there other important things that I'm missing? As far as la
I SP more because I have a 1 year old who I watch when I'm not working or sleeping. Having to drop off for 30 minutes isn't fair to anyone I'm playing and could happen at any time. Some times I can only SP for 10 minutes at a time.
Can save games be updated if both players have applied patches? Also, I'm thinking about getting entrenchment but this other guy who I play sins with isn't inclined. Is it possible to have two copies of sins on the same partition? Also my friend has a copy of vista that he plays sins on, but everytime he zooms out he has to reset his resolution. His video card drivers are up to date. He has tried to no avail to change his video settings.
Nope the vassari win. The reason for that is we can seige your planet and take its loot at the same time [e digicons][/e]
Is the phase stabalizer ability of the kosutara only in entranchment?
On a similar topic I built the Vassari cannon and fired it before sending my force there. Found that it did nothing. Am I doing something wrong?
If the developers were to go that far then someone would ask "why don't these objects have the ability to travel through space lanes" but that is what ships are for. I guess the logic they use is that these structures have enough power to maintain the orbit we are building them in. However the ability to have the fabricators move these structures, say not at combat speeds but for fine tuning would be good. You could simulate that by scrapping one unit and building it in the
Wouldn't that be a hard hit to user's cpu?
I've been playing with another player and been in that situation, but the other player also had that kind of reserve. Roughly we both have frigate factories just waiting for our current troops to get waxed. Now it may make a difference that we don't have entrenchment. It's also likely that we'd both get smoked by more experienced gamers. I personally can't play in a general game due to having a young chiild to care for.
Whet I want is more tech slots. Often I find my fleet maxed out, and my static defenses built up to max and money keeps rushing in
What do you mean by cap ship rush? I've also noticed that opinions have changed. A couple of months ago everyone was saying caps suck take the 1 free cap then scuttle the cap ship factory. Is this due to a patch change? Also caps build so slow and take so much ship points that a cap ship rush seems impossible.
That postion has now been formed and you are all exiled. And can thus not outrank me!!!!!!
I'll have to pull out the big guns for this one. Think of your mom having relations with your dad.
Starting by turtling doesn't work in any RTS game I can think of. Repair bays and platformes are the same thing requiring 1 or 2 military labs to research depending on which race you choose. The behavior you talked about isn't cheating and is completely normal behavior from the ai. The ships you refer to are neutrals that make you work a bit to take your new colony. Asteoids have a few ships ice worlds have a bit more, volcanic planets have more
It's hit or miss. If they are coming against you just hold out as long as you can. The thing is that they are against eachother also, so if you can cause damage to others you are bound to satisfy destroy this quests which also gives improved standing. Use that to get them offering cease fires or alliances.
Since you are coming to this from tec just remember that you are going to build fewer, but better ships. Enslaved labor is good. I've found that I do well with a fleet with an egg and carrier with the repair cloud going. The rest of your fleet should comprise enforcers and assailants with a few planet bombers (can't remember name next to assailants).
I like the Vassari for their mobility. I also like the death egg
I've been playing solo for awhile, and have also been lurking on this forum. My first question is that I've been able to colonize a numbe of planets quickly but that causes a drag to my economy. Also does it make sense to only build bombers if also building the anti strike craft vessels? I've noticed a number of people saying that newbs shouldn't play vassari at first, but the other races don't make much sense to me.
