Thanks, although disappointing. Means they've designed a map > half of which a human player is best off ignoring.
That's the beauty and the strategy of it. Putting something enticing out there that complicates the strategy and disadvantages a player who can be distracted from the goal (total enemy annihlation) makes the player both think and want to try playing the map multiple ways. I really like the maps that for

I've only played a couple games against people so far, my buddy and I often just comp stomp (it's a good time!) In the last multiplayer game I was in, it was moving very fast and I discovered that in single player you can adjust the refresh speed to x1, x2, x4 etc. I was wondering how you get that to happen in multiplayer? I didn't see any settings for it in the host new game setup screens, and the hotkeys that control it during single player don't seem to work, even when I'm the host
3 is pretty logical. if each does 40% planet damage in 40 seconds, then 3 would do 120% planet damage in 40 seconds. If you weren't trying to take the planets after you crushed them, you could cripple an empire until their main fleet came knocking, and then tie up their main fleet chasing you out of their empire, only to have debilitating expenses repopulating. Sounds like a solid strategy to break an enemy on a medium map.
The community support is top notch! Seeing the developers on the forums is inspiring in this world of huge corporations and "give us your money and shut up" game development that was close to ruining gaming for me. This is the first game (in several years) that I bought when it was "new" because one of my firends showing me how awesome the game AND the community are. The large amount of care and concern from players and employees convinced me to begin taking part
I've heard several complaints that Starbases can only target one opponent at a time. This surprises me! I haven't tried entrenchment yet, but I had been assuming that their weapons banks would be setup like capships, with front/left/right/rear firing arcs, and have all 4 balanced for damage evenly (unlike the capitol ships that have the bulk of their firepower concentrated into one of the firing arcs). And like cap ships, have each firing arc select it's own target. The AI alre
>BUMP Are we the only two people having this problem?!? if that's the case, is it some sort of configuration error that just needs to be checked or unchecked? If there are other people who have had the problem, was there any sort of work around that has been devised?
This is probably related to a modding issue. I haven't done much modding, but I've heard people complain that if you take certain ship types out of the game (or change them too significantly) then the AI doesn't know what to do. It'll sometimes freak out and do strange things briefly, but inevitably the AI ends up just sitting there, paralyzed in it's confusion. If this isn't the case, I really don't know what might be causing it.
Yes, I'm having this problem 100% of the time that my friend and I try to play. You are right as well that it only happens the first time I try to join his room, and won't happen again unless I log out of ICO and back in. It will happen more than once per login if you have launched and completed a game and are back in ICO, the next channel you try to join will have everyone booted and will need to be restarted.
When compared to the other cap ships individually, I agree that the Marza's lvl6 ability seems very over powered. There's more to winning the game than capships though. When you stack up 500 fleet points worth of balanced fleets from each of the three races, the TEC will lose vs either of the other two most of the time. The basic TEC strategy is to out-produce your opponents since you will lose more ships then either other race. Even if a battle can be called a victory, the TEC
It's free! You need to run impulse which should've come with sins. Once you've activated impulse, you just need to use it's update tool and it'll do all the updating for you, I think the current version is 1.12 now. Missile Barrage FTW!!!
Is there a centralized place where you can find the status of the servers, or possibly see when maintenances are scheduled?
