The mentioned 4:1 ratio or even more fighters. I only bother to build bombers after I already have tons of fighters. Then they are useful to take out heavy cruisers and capital ships.

Right now having a Marza Dreadnought is by far more effective than to carry around a bunch of easily killed Krasov (spelling?) Frigates that are not good for anything else. Krasov could excel as bombers and troop transports - Marzas and all other ships could only bomb e.g. Imagine the possibilities: capture starbase, invade planet, sabotage structures... Vasari and Advent could get similar options, like beaming up citizens and using anal probes on them (+1 terror).

The problem is: The AI did not get better in Entrenchment. Quite the contrary, in an attempt to reduce the need for boring mob-up operations of already beaten enemies, they made the AI so likely to surrender that it now surrenders almost instantly. I recently thought the AI surrendered after I destroyed all its capital ships... but no, one Kol Battleship was still left, plus two starbases and its best planets... oh my. Maybe the AI rea

ToJKa, right, they simply must do it differently. I still think the Nano-Assembler of the "Egg" gives them a nice edge versus starbases. But I do not think we are talking about relative power or balance, but about the concept of using Vasari Starbases as attackers. I can attack planets of course, but building a starbase for that, probably also having to upgrade it...? When I could get a whole fleet with more power, that will not stay behind?

I must agree with the OP. Do not mistake me for a pacifist or idealist. I often really enjoy bombing planets, too. Or Kostura/Novalith Cannon effects. But often I also think, even if it is only a game, it is rather depressing that I cannot take the whole planet hostage but always have to bomb it with radioactive bombs or whatever else. :( For FUTURE EXPANSIONS: Invade versus Bomb. You would have to deal with some kind of civ

A toggle for "no surrender" would be good. But even if people wish the AI to surrender, it now surrenders by far too quickly, often funnily even in a rather good position.

Yeah, the AI definitely surrenders too quickly in Entrenchment 1.01/Sins 1.15. I dealt it a severe blow early on as I got two, maybe all of its capital ships while assaulting one of the AI border planets... but it still had several much better developed and defended planets, no other enemy than me and *zap* - it surrendered. For no apparent reason, I will still need to devote quite some resources to mob up the remains of the AI empire! I hope they

MarkoBarko is right. It is totally inefficient to create a starbase to prevent losses of frigates and cruisers due to gun platforms or hangars, come on. There is also no point to create a starbase to support an attack, it just takes too long. Or to leave it as a rearguard, come on. The ability to move is an advantage nevertheless. The real question is if the Vasari can make do without "Anti-Structure" torpedo cruisers. A mobile starbase ha
