I dont mind waiting, but im just curious on the loading screen for the beta, it says it (the beta) does not include all features etc of the final release... unless they ran these extras features in an alpha test... how can they know that said features wont fail when implemented with the beta test features? or is it just a turn of phrase that means look, its still in testing phase, and we may add change or delete things at will? again, now that Stardock got rid

tried with TEC, 4 starbases in a stars GW, no problems maybe just a vasari thing though i noticed if u try to automatically target a mine to detonate, the game crashes...
i had an issue where when i dropped the anti- aliasing all the colours got weird and started to blur like retina burn (you know when u move a light real fast and u have an after image?) except on the game it happened for ages so yeah, go to the graphics tab and play with the settings there.... actually, just thoguht of something.... have you tried to put the graphics quality UP? maybe its cause the graphics are too low so the ships look funny, i know sometimes i put the qualit
i think its a programming error, Yeah, it has something to do with the new textures. My game allways crashed as soon as a starbase appeared on the screen. Turning the texture quality down resolved the problem
okay, thats good if it works, but still, it if doesnt work, they should fix it or axe it. and for the record, the program crashes have gotten worse. now its like every 5 minutes without fai
i posted this somewhere else but ill post here as well just because i noticed alot of people were struggling with a balanced minesweeper because it either: 1) has heaps of armor and, being a minesweeper, is super effective against mines, making mines useless, or, 2) has very little armor and, being a minesweeper, is super effective against mines, making mines useless, but also means that you would have to spam 10s upon 10s or even hundreds upo
i agree, i mean, if you had to micro manage the ground battle that wouldnt be good. i cant see throwing in a whole new interface and controls etc to control tanks etc being worthwhile. however i like the idea, perhaps you have the option to bombard from orbit, but then have to rebuild everything, or, send in troops and get a bonus (i.e. you get cheaper labor, higher taxes, new tech) to balance it it could be that bombing is guaranteed, while sending in troops has a 50% chance of faili
noticed the same now that i think about it... though as long as the money comes is i guess it doesnt matter, still im sure its an easy thing to fix. i noticed that in entrenchment, my longest trade queue was 3 or 4 planets/asteroids... when i completely owned like 2 solar systems and the majority of the third while trading with allied empires... i even put a few starbases in neutral terrotires in around thost trading planets, and the trade lane was still very short? again, if
okay, i see alot of ppl saying that the mines have to be more targetable because the scouts scan range is very small, and alot of ppl are saying that once a scout enters a system all mines should be targetable. i dont agree, i think if u do that then scouts become useless once again and all u need it one or two per fleet and then mines become useless. i think that it should work something like the more scouts u have the more scan range they have, as they collate data and relay to the
i like the idea of a special minefield deployment zone, for instance, not at the edge of the gravity well, but a bit back, and not all the way back to the planet, sort of like an asteroid belt, that way, your fleet (or scouts or whatever) can jump in safely, but cant advance further without being anihalated. then if and when you do manage to clear a corridor for your fleet, you can move in and do what you are supposed to instead of micro managing mine-sweeping ops until you are practically in
sorry, double post...
i think its a programming error, i have a very powerful laptop which handled the original Sins with 8 players and fully maxed fleets no problem. now with entrenchment, i zoom into a system full of mines with NO ships, and my comp slows down, sometimes even causes Sins to crash... though then again, Sins entrenchment can and will crash whenever it wants to regardless of what im doing, sometimes it take an hour, sometimes i dont get past the first loading screen...
With minefields, i just did this neat trick: i zoomed in real close to the system, turned the camera so it was lined up on the planets equator, and told my fleet to move to the south pole. then i told it to move to phase jump range and jump to a system FULL of mines the fleet jumped in UNDER the mines, and proceded to clear everything (i ordered the fleet not to move so the enemy came to me and the mines werent a problem) only works sometimes though,
sorry double post
sounds good, though it would have to be very carefully balanced one other thing i thought i would mention here... why do the ships stay still when they fight? i mean, does the term "sitting duck" mean anything to these ship captains? i can understand if cap ships stay still or more only a little, but frigates should move around. im not sure what that would do to gameplay or performance, it may improve gameplay because it would look like a space battle, rather than space age Am
not like im made of money or anything...... but its just $10 if it was like $30 or more, id agree, but for less than lunch, im happy, hell im from Australia i had to pay AUD$15, im not complaining, i just want it to work, these 15 min system crashes are killing me
bought the beta, same thing, i actually heard entrechment was coming out jan 1st, so i went to buy it, it said pre-order, so i though, huh, oh well, maybe just a glitch, bought it, found entrenchment is downloading and installing, thought, huh, interesting i just have 2 things to say, one, its all good i like entrenchment... except the consistent crashed make it hard to play... the second, is i just want to make 100% certain, beyond all doubt: the money i payed for the beta is
it is a kick in the head, but everyone is having the same problem, hopefully stardock will hear about it and patch quickly, because atm, no one can play
hey, i had a slightly different problem, i created an account for Sins and forgot username password everything, so i sent in an email, and they replied with my user name, but the password was blank, i asked again and again, went to different links to send the password, nothing, just a username so eventually i went and created a new account with another email address and simply transferred all my certification codes (whatever) across
i agree with DArcTangent that some AI aid with avoiding minefields would be good, but i have to say, honestly, that what you are recommending would make minefields useless. i mean, all you have to do is jump one scout in system, then the fleet around it so the enemy cant destroy your scout, and bam there goes the whole point of mines because the ships wont fly into them. and then, imagine if you jumped 10 or more scouts in system, each of which enables your fleet to fly around mines, then the
its effects screen not the graphics screen dw that always gets me too
I have the same problem with the mini dump and general system failure. no lag yet, but im still on my first game with entrenchment and havent gotten to max fleet yet. still, running dual intel 2.50 Ghz processors, dual 8800 512Mb graphics cards, 4 Gbs ram and no worries so far. my only problem is with mines, i like them when they work for me, but seriously, i just scouted a normal difficulty AI system, and it was all yellow, just mines everywhere, i would spend hun
