Instead of bidding on someone else, you should be able to bid on yourself. The winner of the bid could choose where to send the Pirates. This would give a better level of control; choosing the enemy of your choice and which planet to attack.
i like the idea of control, telling them where to attack, but the bidding on yourself thing, maybe that would work with mercenaries, but not with pirates methinks.... maybe add it

i was always thinking everyone would have to unite in the end... honestly... i dont know why the vasari thought running away at any cost to any civilisation in their way, would work in the end, they are only deferring the inevitable... given, maybe their arrogance makes them resistant to asking for help, already thinking they are superior to everyone else... anyway, i think the not jumping out thing is good, although there was some story bible somewhere that said one vasari ship
I'm not a big fan of mines BTW. I always play Vasari so I can't comment on the others. The mines in entrenchment from my experience take to much micro for my liking. Ya I know I can shift click a few spots but they take forever to lay. By then I'm already assaulting the next planet. I only lay mines at where the pirates usually r

as for the empire menu... there is a thing, just not in one place, if you mouse over the counter for each resource, you have a break down of you resource income from each planet/asteroid, as well as total income against fleet upkeep. also, mousing over your credit counter shows your longest effecient trade route. as for each kind of planet and how many, i dont believe there is such a thing yet, other than, again, looking at your income rates. alternatively, if you go to the di

Can't comment on beta stuff, but oddly enough, I find that TEC uses mines less than Advent or Vasari... Hmm
very odd... maybe they are just trying to
inertial dampening does not completely negate the effects of inertia, (you cant completely break the laws of physics) and besides, i thought that the only reason a space craft doesnt need to burn its engines is because it has inertia? now you want to dampen it? the only reason you would want that is to make the fighter stop quicker... but... we're in a dogfight, you dont want to stop... 1) Inertial Dampening is to prevent the

um.... i still didnt quite get that... from what i understand hes asking: 1a) who are the pirates, 1b) should we give pirates more power, maybe some capital ships and maybe some more planets (i.e. fledgling empire) 2) when you nuke and Ice planet would it become terran... well, if thats near true, these are my answers: 1a) I imagine the pirates are just the usual unscrupolous members of any society who engage in piracy rather than honest work. sinc
TEC starbase has a build ships ability. So they'd have to include that with all stars/planets. Although the TEC starbase can only build frigates and cruisers...
i dont usually use that ability on starbases, but from my understanding last time i used it, if you want to build ships from the TEC starbase, then you need to click on the starbase itself, not the planet... regardless, these were GW's with no starbase, either

yeah, i know, doesnt affect the game at all, but i guess if Ironclad can fix it theres no reason not too... shouldnt be too hard... idn, this thread is mainly to let someone know... i mean, there was an update since and it didnt fix it so...

um, not sure if anyone else has noticed this bug, but whenever i click on a plasma cloud or equivalent, or an unowned planet or one owned by an enemy/ally, the greyed out buttons for cap ship/frigate/cruiser factory is displayed in the control... area... where the buttons usually are. i dont have any mods installed and i have all the latest updates.... just mentioning it.... does anyone else see the same?

I've enjoyed following this thread, though, and I think you make some excelent points, The_Rezonator_1. Refuelling and rearming SC would certainly add a depth thats missing from the strike craft element. Maybe an option to have fighters automatically defend the fleet from other strike craft then another to tel

first off, Astax, I HAVE ENTRENCHMENT you ass, i was involved in the beta, go look at other threads of mine about entrenchment, otherwise i dont know how to prove it to you but if i could do so convincingly then i would there is ABSOLUTELY no reason to come in here and slam ideas when you dont have all the facts. i DO have entrenchment, and my style of using SC has not changed since i played the original recipie Sins! if you have nothing better to do than come in here a
Rather than looking at slamming carriers and mini-carriers. Perhaps fiddling with anti-fighter stuff is the answer? Basically boost flak slightly. I'm also guessing that the counter to fighters/bombers is... fighters. Yet they don't seem to happy to engage, prefering to yomp off against any target. So a tweak to how fighters automatically prioritise their targets might be enough. A UI change would be hel
Quoting gamerking345, reply 5 in modern times a bomber has enough fuel to go around the world maybe several times (ps im not an expert ) and if this is possible today, imagine what we could do in several hundred or thousand years. now fighters are a different matter, they too have a large range but im not sure whether its more or less than bombers, most likely more because they are much lighter, but again im not sure
A few things concerning bombardment of planets, some of which have been mentioned. There is very clearly some sort of permanant human population on each planet that is never completely wiped out. Vasari do not significantly populate planets with their own people but rather enslave the local populace, which indicates that people are not killed completely but bombed into submission. Furthermore, from a fluff perspective

okay, i can see no one cares about these changes, so ill let the topic die however, i would like to clarify some things so, first off, i dont really care about the SC balance, im quite happy with it, im absolutely fine to just build a number of carriers full of bombers and let them run free i mean with enough SC + recearch, micro managing them becomes a moot point because they become so effective now, the reason i wrote this thread was because i like solvi
I think with the changes you suggest, Strike Craft would be useless. If you cannot rebuild SC infight and they launch one after another, no one would build carriers. If the enemy builds some flak, the carriers firepower would be 0 after 60 second s in a battle. But I have to agree with some things. Fighters should stay docked and only launch when enemies are near, but they should launch fast. It just look
I like the idea of moons and defences on them. The only thing I have to add is that with Entrenchment, everything about a planet's defensive system just got harder. Starbases, mines, upgraded hangars, upgraded gauss platforms. I just think we need to be careful about putting in yet more defences into grav wells that are already insanely hard to take (at least with a player that know how to build a good defence). That b
