You're equally wrong on the auto industry. They make plenty of fuel efficient cars, the problem is they lose money on them. GMC only makes enough to pay the bills by producing trucks and SUV's, which sell at a much higher premium over the input costs. A compact car that only makes them a grand isn't enough to keep up with the legacy costs, it was indeed the loss in low mileage vehicles that took them out, but it wasn't because they weren't making any high mileage cars.
Did you ever consider that you don't have a clue as to how the ancients colonized planets? The seeders' mission could be to plop down gates on as many habitable worlds as possible, disregarding the location. The issues and benefits you consdier, may have been insignificant to the ancients. They may have been able to land a whole city with a static climate and weather protection right there, without hassle, right in front of a gate in the mi

i agree with the above post, except when i tried the same suggestion, i was told quite simply: well, the Kol is supposed to be the newest and most advanced ship the TEC have, so why is it ships that existed before (Marza, Sova) need to be researched before they can be built? i usually like to stick to lore, but in this case its annoying, in that its in the way and its also correct in this case...

I think jump orders should take priority unless an attack order is given specifically (i.e. not autoattack). then, quite simply, an directly given order should have priority over any other autocast order. including return to fleet. so if i send my ogrovs around the other side of the GW to attack some labs or whatever, they should sit and follow the orders they are given, not attack one structure then return to the fleet unless an order to do so specifically is given by the pla
The skepticism (at least in my case) has more to do with the use of the science than the science itself,This is the reason. though I have significant doubts about the science of climatology because of its dependence on manipulating proxy data of dubious power and reliability and its focus on a sliver of time smaller than a geologic eye blink, not to mention the hubris involved in assuming we can 'fix' a problem not

The 100 years of temperatures is too short period of time, but it can tell you trending. I think that scientists rely more on ice co

okay, certain things auto pin and certain things dont, to save time, rather than listing them all, heres the basics if you WANT to pin something, select it on the game screen, be it a neutral grav well, enemy grav well, planet, structure, ship or pretty much anything that is selectable, and press the pin button. some things are auto pinned, those are set in the settings (i think in the UI tab?). for instance you can set planets, fleets, cap ships etc to be auto pinned or not,
Taking over the universe one system (let alone planet!) at a time might sound pretty heavy going, but to take the idea further - the "universe" could be divided into several sectors therefore breaking up the campaign.
i like ths idea, but form a simply technical point of view: i have a pretty powerful computer, but i have this one map with over 100 stars and about 1200 planets... after expanding into just 2 solar systems i start to experience some pretty bad lag

i think its hilarious how we've come full circle from saying SC are way too overpowered to saying SC need to be buffed to make X Y and Z viable... =P just a slightly random question, is it possible to make a unit invulnerable to a certain type of damage (i.e. anti-light etc)? like, lets say we make (after research) late game caps either invulnerable or highly immune (though still damageble) to fighters and maybe certain other ships like LF, maybe bombers, maybe turret defense,
