I think i'll give you praise in the form of words my friend told me while we were playing an online match: "Holy Sh** this mod is the BEST" "SSD's FTW" "the sheer awesome makes up for there being no starbases" and i totally agree with him.
Im pretty sure he knew all that, but the Camera Enable Twist option in the UI menu lets you actually twist the camera around, so you can really move the camera around in any way. For example. If you dont have the option on, you normally see the gravity well of a planet in a horizontal sense. With Enable Twist, you could easily see it in a vertical fashion. It really is an amazing way to see some battles, but it gets my sense of direction all screwed up so i dont
The mod is still running at a pretty fast pace, actually. The reason the patches seem to be going "backwards" is that they had to convert the game to entrenchment, and that was taking a toll when it came down to all of the races. So they gave us an "early" release with feds and klinks so we could play, and now they are finishing up the rommies. kyogre, i cannot express just how much i love this mod. Battlestar is one of my favorite universes, and being able to play in it on the best game ever made is happiness beyond comprehension. Goa, that would be cool if you could make it look like 2 planets. It could be set as a rare type of terran planet, but with alot more population/tax income/HP/mines etc. etc. I'd love to see that, but i also realize that it would be tough to make. Good luck to whoever tries it.
yea i got Win 7 ulti x32. Strange thing though, is that everything actually improved form when i was using Vista ulti x32 just last week. Sorry to see so many hiccups in the mod building, stress. With shimmer on hiatus (hopefully not permanently) and the update making things go all haywire. Either way, i know you'll do your best to give the community a top-notch mod, and i say to you: take all the time that you need.
Just tried playing the mod. Set up a 6-player random-medium map, played into it a bit (roughly 5-10 minutes maybe), had my trusty ambassador go try to take a planet. All settings were on highest minus other effects, only the skyboxes (i think) were checked. I noticed my ambassador was doing the "run away" trick where they don't turn around to attack yet are chased by enemy ships. I hit the alt-key to see if they had run past the edge of the ravity well yet, and had a repetetive phaser sound b

I think that if you wanted to do the Venator's blue-beam-of-death, you could use the Vasari pulse beam weapons if there was a way to get it to last just a bit longer. The illum's beam would be good, but it lasts for a little while, while the Venator's beam lasts roughly half a second i believe. That would make an awesome ultimate ability for them. one-hits to frigates and cruisers, but just a large amount of damage to caps.
anybody else download the hotfix? i did, and the game minidumped when i tried to load a previous game. Im going to try starting a game new, maybe it dumped cuz i loaded a different version. Just lettin' you all know. EDIT: Nevermind that, i thought i had the mod activated but it wasnt. Stupid move on my part.

i noly have problems with the acceleration. I had a Mandator warp into a gravity well that had some enemy ships bombarding the planet. The ships turned to run, and the Mandator INTERCEPTED THEM because it was able to get up to such a high speed, and over took the enemy ships but kept skidding past them because it couldnt decelerate XD. All the ships look too small in my opinion, but i might be able to get used to it if i play enough. Personally, i'd rather just use my
1/2 scale please. Remember, Canon first!
It's too bad the patch broke it (good thing i held off on getting the patches [e digicons];P[/e] ) but i hope you can get the mod to work soon, cuz they said it fixed some late-game lag issues [e digicons]:rofl:[/e] . Trance, I've played Future Wars - Tactical Sim. It only works with vanilla sins, not entrenchment unfortunately. My only real issue was that it was TOTALLY in german as they didnt get to translate it so i got incredibly confused. Other than that. it was an OK placehold
I have to agree with Ryugi on the defiant matter. In-game, the the Defiant at it's current level of attack and defense is far weaker than the other capital ships. I had a fleet full of defiants that didnt fare too well against a fairly large enemy fleet, while another of my fleets being half that size with Galaxy-Class and Sovvies took out another enemy fleet of similar size and strength. Not to mention that one-on-one the Defiant just doesnt do enough to keep up with other capital ships of F

Honestly, im gonna get Diplomacy just for the hell of it. I'm not too big of a diplomat myself, but hey you never know what it will really add to teh gameplay. Now on the mod, I really hope you guys are able to find and kill those last few bugs. Seems like they are really giving you guys hell, but good job pushing the rest of them out of the way.
I have to say that this is the best looking mod i've seen. I played countless numbers of games on the 0.03c version, and i've been following news for the entrenchment version since april. My only problem with 0.03c was the inability to use a decent defensive array, and i'm very excited for defense platforms in the coming versions.
