Disregard this. I figured it out. Thanks for the referrals to google, I've never heard of such a useful site before!

At one point earlier today it had started to say "verifying download" but it also did nothing in that stage. I have already created an exception in my firewall for Impulse, and I am using Vista if that helps troubleshoot at all. Any possible solutions would be greatly appreciated.
