I've been watching the debate on the other thread about the Kol, so I was re-evaluating my stance on it by putting it through its paces. I have noticed something about the Kol though, it is the only ship that is called "Flagship", I've noticed it says that with my enemies too. What does this mean?

I have never really found static defenses to be good at fighting off anyone. I took your advice and merged two fleets, now I have 82 ships. 2 caps, 11 carriers, 3-something kodiaks, 11 repair ships, 11 cobolt, and 35 LRM. I am adding 26 more ships to this fleet now (17 carriers, 10 kodiak) I left the third fleet to protect my planets. And I usually have a fleet on the sun as well like I said, but four starbases with all hanger cap maxed out can do some pretty goo

Hey, I have been playing Sins on and off for a while now. I usually have been playing singleplayer because I always get overrun in multiplayer. My way of playing the game has always been as a steamroller that is, slowly building up a fleet until it can run over everything in its path. I am usually TEC. Yesterday I was playing an older save, where there were five solar systems but only one really large one (The map was one of those huge maps), and I had eventually overrun every

its common for me to use atleast 3-4 starbases to help control each and every sun. It helps to ease the damage to my stuff when I have bombers taking out all cap ships that go to any star :-D
If you can defeat the AI like that, maybe one day you'll be ready to move up to online multiplayer.
War is not just about killing the other person. Its also about forming alliances to make fighting easier and to gain help when is needed. I form alliances for trading porposes, mostly. But they will all die sooner or later, whether by me, or by anther AI, usually by me though. thank

Micro? I keep seeing that word but I do not know what it means. Well I do know what it means, I do not know what you are refering too in game. :-P What about any of the other features in the game that do not automatically get autocast, like the scout frigates explore ability?

Hey, I am playing a singleplayer game with 4 hard ai and 1 normal ai. I currently destroyed the normal AI (who was my ally when we first begun) and I made alliances with all but one hard AI. So the AI have had some time to try to destroy each other. In a UCGW I saw a HUGE AI battle. I scrolled in and I couldnt even see anything except a bright light from all those bubble things. photos below: [IMG]http://img36.image

Why do some of my planets take my credit, and some dont. How do I make these planets become profitable?

Hey I have been playing SOASE for a bit when I first got it a couple of months ago, and I recently felt like playing it again. But I also tab out (tab + Alt changes windows) and watch movies and TV shows on hulu I do however bring up the menu so the game pauses. So after about 20-30 minutes of moive watching, I go in again. The first thing I notice is that my ally has cut off the trade and cease fire agreement, which is wierd because before I tabbed out he was helping me kill an opponent. The

Yea I spelled capital wrong I know. I have got two SB's up around the sun in the system I started in so once I bring in a third one, It wont matter how many capitals the enemy has, I will be able to destroy them.

5 Replies 4,719 Views

How does the hard AI's get more than one capitol in less than 20 minutes? Is there a strategy for this or am I doing something wrong?

5 Replies 4,719 Views

its not that hard, once you get enough planets giving you ore and money. I usually place them between a couple of warp lines so they can help attack anything that comes into their orbit. Is this the answer you are looking for?
I think this tactic is flawed, Pirates have sisge frigates in the gravity well, right? so the moment you colonize it, they will turn on "their" base. they don't, unless raids have been accumulating there and not leaving. but yeah you guys are right about culture, doesn't affect pirates. mind, eyes of the converted still works on 'em, but you can't knock out the base with culture. Darn, I tried to follow someone elses thread post that said to use the akkan to colonize it and allow the pirates to protect the asteroid, well i did that but then the pirates used their seige vessels to bomb the heck outa me.

5 Replies 5,433 Views

I heard that colonizing the pirate base can somtimes give you stuff. So I want to try it out. I already atttacked their base with my long range missiles so that they cant build anymore. But how do I go about taking down their heavy cruisers? I already sent a HUGE fleet with all 5 cap ships in there, and only two made it out :-( and three of them were lvl 10 (strangly the lvl 10's all died and the lvl 2's escaped) Now i want to attack them and totally destroy them. They have 86 heavy crusiers

Ususally I control all the fighters and bombers, take out the anti-structure ships, and then have them help destroy the Capitol ship, its funny how once that cap ship goes down they run.

yea its given me so much control over who goes in and out. Now very few fleets come in from other systems. Im only playing on normal AI mode with only 3 AI (one started out as a friend but I always attack them too). Soon I will see if this is good against hard mode AI.

Hye, I have recently downoaded Entrentchment and I like it alot. I was playing a game that had five stars. Each player started off on each star and there was one star left over that had a huge number of planets. i forget the name. Anyways when I achieved the ability to jump to different stars I Positioned a starbase on the sun. It went well for most of the game, it had the maxium drone upgrades and it owned (I was playing tec by the way aginst AI). Unfortunatly two of the AI got fleets togeth
