Vasari has never really been weak. Playing advent only I have always dreaded vasari opponents more so than other advent or TEC even when advent was supposedly the OP race. Its funny how even a small change in power/perception can switch everyone from thinking one is weak to thinking one is strong. Vasari were not changed that much but now they are the dominant race that 3 out of 4 players play anymore when before everyone thought advent was great. My opinion

Believe as you like Nrull. I did not say reverie was shit. The only thing I actually said was that it was "meh" and basically the only halfway good ability on the whole cap. It has its uses but it is situational at best. This in my opinion is not enough reason to spend resources on it that are better spent elsewhere. If I want an interupt, I will get a radiance which I have already stated that I believe to be superior. If I want to prevent a retreat, I will

There was never a time when vasari was almost non-existant. Even when advent supposedly ruled the roost, there were still many that played vasari at least online. TEC was the least played then. It sounds as if you play mostly single player from the things you say(talking about the AI's behavior a lot and ignoring the reverie'd ship, etc.). Single player is a completely different thing and you can get away with a lot more with the AI. The damage limit very mu

[quote who="N3rull" reply="7" id="2629218"] TEC and Vasari have no way of stopping this, though I'm not sure if antorak's POH won't cleanse it. Not that it matters, your cap will be dead by the time you make an antorak as a counter anyway, cause there is no reason to make the antorak above any other cap until you have a dozen caps already. Reverie is imbalanced as an ability and the only reason why it is not imbalanced in the whole scheme of things is beca

Reverie is good for stopping caps from jumping to safety too as it stops jumps as well as interupting abilities. Quar used to use it as a first cap when he dabbled with advent to snipe caps with so they couldnt escape. The cooldown reducer does not work on ultimate abilities btw so it does no good for cleansing brilliance, missle barrage etc. Clairvoyance is a wasted ability when I can just use a much cheaper scout to do the same job. Provoke hysteria is only the

There is no way of checking how many are in the lobby short of logging in and checking or having someone check for you. Entrenchment is worth the money for what it adds to the game if you like the game. Diplomacy adds more to single player than it does multiplayer but there are more players on its lobby now. You just have to decide if it is worth the $20 for what you get. Like has been said, there are games to be had especially in diplomacy but sometimes it takes a bit

The most players will be on diplomacy. You will not see them from entrenchment/regular sins lobby. If you want to play multiplayer, your best bet at present is to use diplomacy. That being said, player counts are not huge. During prime time US hours, the averages range from 30-60 players on diplomacy. You will get a game if you are patient but sometimes it takes a bit. I believe there are still games to be had in regular sins and entrenchment but they are g

Woops. I just overlooked the playing single player part for some reason. Generally against AI you should build SB with repairs on what you think will be your border worlds with the AI. With a decent SB, you can hold off much larger AI fleets with relative ease. They will happily suicide themselves on an SB all day long. Meteor is especially useful for the advent SB so you can get rid of massive fleets easily. It is also nice to have a hangar with shield bes

With the HUGE amount of vasari skirantra bomber spam and carrier cap spam in general, you are pretty much stuck with having to get a carrier cap to start with. There is little way around it. If there is a vasari beside you, expect to see at least 2 skirantras with scramble bomber spamming. The best way to respond is generally get carrier cruisers with bombers yourself or go lrm spam with some flak and try to snipe a cap before they can run it to repair. That and keep y

That would be gini. The blank part before TFLord is ginius or gini or something like that. He is widely known on ICO by gini although he never uses his old main or DT tagged name but instead smurfs. He has been known to be a griefer and overall immature person in general especially when he smurfs. He frequently smurfed along with siddy to grief people back in the day. I would say you could gripe to the DT clanleader but they don't have one and have long

It depends on what it is up against really. Your fleet should always be tailored to what your enemy has and what resistance you expect to be fighting. To do this you need to know what counters what. Kanraks and LRF in general counter most things pretty well but especially LF and caps. LF counter support cruisers and carriers. HC counter about anything. Fighters counter LRF, fighters, and bombers. Bombers counter HC and structures including starbases.&

[quote who="CombatElite667" reply="5" id="2611855"]Just a Grammer Tip (coming from the person with bad english >.>): To the Vasari: Their AAs arent "Flaks". SAAM seems to make clear sence Plus: build about 4-10 "SAAMs" and maybe, 1 or 2 Carriers with Fighters: Like the other suggestions above: LFs (never tried it tbh) seems to be a good idea to chace down those pests unless the Bombers deside to rip them to pieces. 10 flak will do just fine against the fighters unless its a large amount of fighters(more than 20 squads) or unless as mentioned above your flak are spread out everywhere chasing lone squads. It doesn't take much to suppress fighters with a handful of flak but more flak makes it quicker. Flak won't do squat to the bombers though. You need fighters of your own to kill the bombers. Anti-SC cap abilities will help too. Skirmishers/LF are great at killing carrie

Its almost always better to have a bigger fleet than the research. The exceptions being the early research which is decently efficient but still it isn't all that great. Almost everything is a 5 percent increase so it takes 20 units to equal 1 unit worth of increase(example 5 percent increase in damage across 20 units and you have the equivalent of 21 units doing damage). Most times its more efficient to have the extra 1 unit with the resources spent. It is nice to hav

Put starbases with repair platforms on border worlds. The AI will generally happily suicide itself on SBs over and over again. If you are advent just make sure to have meteor on your SB so you can get some nice AE damage. Its nice to have a few guardians to repulse as well as advent. Have overseers or hoshikos as vasari or TEC to help repair the SB. You can leave a cap there to soak up the experience the AI will inevitably give you. Lots of lrf are nic

You really do not even need a 1 flak to 1 fighter to clear fighters out. Granted it will be quicker if you use 1 to 1 but even a half dozen or so will keep them reasonably suppressed. Bombers are another matter however as has been mentioned. Flak are terrible clearing them. As has been mentioned they can be good against lrf in bulk. [_]-Greyfox

You don't necessarily need to split them off and move them out of range. Any appreciable amount of lrf will cut through the LF like butter. You could even have less lrf thank he has cobalts and still come out on top. The lrf will even target the LF first if left to their own devices but you should target them yourself if they give you so much trouble. Sabotage is really only useful against carrier cruisers and support cruisers to get rid of AM. [

Reject it all you like. So what counters do you expect people to bring? Fighters get raped by a handful of flak. Cap counters get raped by bombers along with a few assailants before they are adequately thinned plus they can always spam more bombers once the refresh comes. The only workable counter is LF or LRF spam depending on what your enemy (lrf or flak or both)has and trying to snipe a cap IF you can before it jumps out to repair. Even that is kinda iffy beca

Currently the only way to see if a game is up is to open the expansion in question. With entrenchment or regular sins, it will show if there are games open but will not show them unless it is the expansion you are using. For example, it may say there is 1 game available on entrenchment but you do not see any on the list to join. This means that there is a game on regular but not entrenchment. This does not however cross over to diplomacy. Games available on diplo

With skirantra spam, you can get silly amounts of bombers and are able to heal those bombers. This makes quick work of any opposing caps even the halcyon with push and fighters. You simply cannot kill the bombers quickly enough to matter with early game fleet. Combine that with an enemy that quickly puts out flak if any number of fighters come out and assailants to snipe caps too. Cap counters are killed very quickly. Carrier cruisers are nullified with a handful

You could also build ogrovs if you were TEC(advent adjudicators suck against SBs though). I am guessing from the sound of building a SB to counter a SB that you are vasari though. Bombers are your best bet unless your enemy has lots of fighters and still are preferable if you can thin out the fighter cover to manageable levels. You could also build a SB at a different location if you are vasari against tec or advent and let it upgrade until sufficient to kill it. Large

I have always been a believer in that multiplayer brings out all of the flaws in the system. If there is something OP in the slightest, you will see it abused to the maximum extent possible in multiplayer. I am not saying that single player opinions are invalid by any stretch but the computer is difficult to test with. It doesn't fluidly change to the flavor of the patch like a human does or exploit any newfound strength or weakness but rather sticks to the same predict

Zoom is starting to sound like a politician. Zoom for president! I agree with him though. We can't do much about the rest but smurfing we can. It is a minor thing to you because you smurf sunny. It is NOT minor to a lot of other people though. As far as the OP goes, there are ever present balance issues, split lobbies, low player counts, lack of ratings system/ladder/matchmaking. All that stuff is dependent on the devs and out of your hand
