Voicing my support for this idea. I'm so borderline about whether to really get into MP because of bad experiences with people online. Unlike a MP game like Starcraft, an immature person and/or troll has the power to RUIN your experience in Sins. In most games, you can just ignore their chat and play with your head down, but the matchmaking, team play, and victory conditions of Sins gives the bad guys much more power. I figured it out! After all, Rebellion's tagline is "The time for diplomacy is over." Clearly the devs intended to nerf the diplomacy system...trollolol But seriously, I always found the dual, double-edged relationship system to be very awkward.
Thanks for the workaround! I had this problem too. But...I think I'll just keep it in windowed mode and bind my wasd keys to strafe the map around. Less carpal tunnel that way!
I learned a ton from this post, thanks!
Sounds good...Akkan then straight to Titan with fleet that counters opponents based on scouting. I can handle that ;)
So I'm super new, and would like to know what's the best way to start a standard (nothing unusual) MP game? I'm TEC Loyalist. I start with Akkan, and then I thought I should get Sova after I've captured a few planets. I did this in my last game, and I was actually beating my neighbor, by building frigates that countered his, and it was a blast. UNTIL, his titan showed up. It killed my whole fleet as well as my teammate's. So, is it best to rush straight to
No I think that's normal, the community has always been pretty dead...I tried to get into multiplayer a year ago and it was the same...very few games, with people way better than you. I'm getting back into the single player now. Iron Clad Online is a terrible shock since I've become used to the vibrant Starcraft 2 play on Battle.net.
I'm enjoying this, helps a neewb out! Thanks
Thanks Vitamin! My final question here would be: does it hurt to build extra trade ports branching off from your chain? Say we had a system shaped like a lowercase "t". You would want to build up and down to create your longest chain. But then what would happen if you added a few more on the left to right axis? Would each tradeport simply add overall income without affecting the income per tradeport ratio? This system Stardock came up with is super complicated! Can't see what
I'm still a little confused about this "chain" business. How can you possibly "break" a chain by adding a tradeport? That would merely add onto the chain. I don't understand how you could break a chain by adding another link in it. Let's take this example as a way you guys could maybe explain this to me. Imagine you have a circular shaped system. You control all planets in this circle. How would you construct the longest chain? Would it be by building tradeports in all planets except
Ahhh...internet forums
Thanks Cykur! Posts like these help this new guy wrap his head around the game...a lot more complicated than I thought I was in for!
