The problem is, the AI shouldn't even know who placed the bounty on him. And I've tried placing bounty on 4 AI's at once. It doesn't work. The AI's never outbid each other. Only me. And Kharma, the AI's do not have any pacts or truces with each other. None of them even like each other. This should not be happening. The Diplomacy XP was supposed to make the AI's not automatically gang up on the human player with unlocked teams. And yet it is doing it with b
You are playing ffa (vs. locked teams), choosing to use pirates, and playing with an unfair setting to boot, and then you are complaining when things are... unfair?
No, the teams are unlocked. And it is assumed that the AI cheats ONLY with resources.
I'm playing another game, and I can verify 100% that the AI will only place bounty on a human player. If I am the first one to place bounty for a round, and I place a bunch on another player, I am outbid right away. None of the other AI's recieve bounty. And I am not the best player in this game by a long shot, not that they would know particularly well.
Itharus - the issue with supply pact is that once you got it it wouldn't let you add more ships
The exact bug is this: the supply pact does not add more ships until the player clicks on a technology (cancelling it right after is OK). A bit annoying, to be sure
I'm enjoying the new AI. The pirates are supposed to be much tougher, so I've been playing FFA, vs unfairs, with pirates on. But I'm about ready to turn them off again. Why? Because I'm the DEFAULT receiver of pirate attacks. I get an attack if no bounty has been placed on anyone. Furthermore, the AI never tries to outbid each other, only increase the bounty on me. Basically, unless I micro the bounty (and spend loads of cash), I will get an attack. And because FFA AI's (whom are not allied i
This is SO funny. My brother and I were laughing pretty hard when we read this. [e digicons][/e]
I loved Sim City 2000 and 3000. Never played SC4, and now it's too late with my advanced PC. Boy would I love to see a SC5. But yeah, there's virtually no chance for the next 10 years, IMO.
Lamest of lame titles. [e digicons]X|[/e] But if it looks good and Stardock publishes it, 'll buy it for sure.
i fully agree with your sentiments, Brad. I don't even own a console, though I'm happy to play at a friend's house. But strategy games just play SO much better on the PC. When you think about input mechanisms and upgradeability, the PC clearly rules for strategy games.
Impulse and Sins update. Can't wait! [e digicons][/e]
Yeah, sometimes it's really hard to change the skyboxes. I wish I could set it to always be the purple one, but I digress... [e digicons]:P[/e]
So do you guys think there is any chance the devs will re-adjust these tech to make them better? I fully agree that these four need serious improvement. Is it realistic that the devs will care?
I've been playing it a lot. But in LAN. I'll probably never go online.
The expansions make it more complicated and better. But I was hooked on the original, and then learned about the Entrenchment expansion shortly after. The concepts are the same though. If you didn't like SoaSE at all, then unfortunately the XP's proably won't make it much better for you. That is, unless you feel like specific areas (such as defense and diplomacy) are lacking.
I've got an i7 920 overclocked to 4 Ghz, and a GTX 260, and I'm still getting a bit of lag later in the game. So I dunno.
Me and my brother teamed up against a single vicious ast night. He actually put up quite a fight. Sent huge fleets in, and killed several of our caps. The AI still doesn't know how to penetrate defenses though (needs to build more bombers!). However, the AI never upgraded a single planet's health. Their defenses were pretty good, but they needed a few more repair platforms. Also, we had at least 3 crashes to the desktop (no minidump). I had to up the autosave frequency,
Noticed a bug with the pirate base. I took it over, and it started with 10 pop. Then I upgraded the base for an extra 10 pop. However, the base NEVER gained that extra 10 pop, because the pop growth rate was set at zero. I also noticed the damage effects and the loading bar adjustment bugs. Has anyone seen anything with the AI using ultimate abilities?
Wow, sounds really cool. I'm just finishing downloading the diplomacy updates on my other PC, and then we'll have an epic LAN session. [e digicons]B)[/e]
So is it the final release? Lots of new features, I can tell.
The Diplomatic win exists in the final version, but no, we have never received it.
Hmmm... Didn't realize this will cancel Diplomacy's use. I guess I'll just wait till the 9th to update.
Wahoo! I guess I'll make a copy of the game so I can still play the old mods.
Wow. What do I need to change my major to in order to work at Stardock? [e digicons][/e] And on the topic of bees, can we buy genuine Stardock honey?
Very cool. So the Entrenchment patch is coming out this week then? [e digicons]:fox:[/e]
I use Safari, and it really gets annoying not to be able to quote. I'll often use my Mac to post on the forums here.
