Sorry, but Sins uses 4 threads on my i7 920 quad-core with hyperthreading enabled. Quite nice, actually.

Wow, very cool! [e digicons][/e]
Correct me if I'm wrong, but the latest AI levels are nothing more than extra resource cheats. Anyway, definitely easier than Entrenchment, though perhaps it's because the AI can't handle the Diplomacy features. Hopefully this gets done. But if not, all I can do is wait for is Stardock's Elemental's AI, which is gonna be really good, because of the realization that people play SP and LAN AI crushers, not online.
Yep, I've got the original menu theme playing. I hate how I have to redo it after every update though.
I hate when you turn off a game's auto-update, but Steam automatically turns it back on. And then it updates when you want to play, and won't let you play until it's completely updated. And then my internet dies, so I can't play. Steam crashes, and when you can't get it to relaunch, you can't go offline (because you have to sign in), then you cant play your games. You can't play LAN on two machines with one copy (Stardock Impulse, you can). Or how Steam forget
I fully agree that these issues still exist. Particularly in respect to the AI. Should be moved to the Diplomacy or General forum.
We should have a galactic capital as well then, that has special bonuses, and is one of the star system capitals.
I'd like to see an end to smurfing, even though I don't play online. For one, the amount of complaints about it here is insane, and drives me crazy. Surely it should just be fixed. Secondly, I might actually play online were it not for the amount of smurfs that join specifically-labeled "newb" games.
I'm really liking what I'm seeing in Diplomacy so far. However, the devs have been dropping a ton of hints here about various AI improvements and upgrades planned for the future. I'm sure you guys know all of the commonly complained-about problems, weaknesses, and other suggestions by now. Just wondering in which beta we will see them? The general weaknesses and problems with the AI are my sole complaint with Sins right now, other than the fact that I waste so much time with it. [e digicons]
It seems the pacts are an awful lot of work to obtain. And when you finally get them, all, it's too late in the game to make a difference; i.e. you already won or lost. I really like the idea of them, but the implementation definitely needs to be improved. And yeah, I'm really hoping for some AI improvements. Sooner is better. [e digicons];)[/e]
The pacts for the Advent seem to be out of order. Minor issue. I'd really like to see the planetary bonuses improved as well. More and varied discoveries, and artifacts that are better, or else more. I agree with Fuzzy Logic that you need diplomacy features early game, but get them late game.
No, it said they had NOT been implemented yet. Next Beta.
Very cool! I love you guys! [e digicons] I've played an open-source clone of X-COM, but never actually the true classic game. I'll have to get it as a reward for doing well on my f
Appears a few techs have been moved to the diplomacy tree already. Looking very nice so far. Big improvement! Now for an actual game, instead of studying for my final exam tomorrow, worth 30% of my grade. [e digicons][/e] And the pacts look sweet!
I just read the topic, and I thought it was both pretty funny, and interesting. But I'll respect the troll Frogboy's decision. [e digicons];)[/e]
Conflict of interest is a big thing. Both sides could be said to have one, depending on your point of view. But notice that government, the political class, and the mainstream media agree with AGW, while businesses and individuals do not. And who are the "scientists" funded by? The poiitical class, and the hype generated by the MSM. And the issue is already too political and polarizing for any scientist outside of that to not have already made up his mind. And already m
I like the ideas in this topic. A lot.
So glad Ironclad has ignored a campaign. You play it once, then you're done. Whereas sandbox, you play it maybe a thousand times. Which is a better use of a developer's time? I play campaigns is strategy games. ONCE. Then I stick to sandbox, until I've exhausted that. And it certainly hasn't happened with Sins yet.
Bummer. Not a member. Brad's a cool guy, and he makes the type of games I like. [e digicons]:S[/e]
It's not WRONG to market only to men. It's simply a reasonable marketing decision.
Humans have existed on this planet for a long time. Nature is still more powerful than us. We can't control the Earth's weather yet, like it or not.
Even something like the short clips you get when you win GalCiv2 would be nice.
So if I were a scientist researching man-made global warming, and my job depended on it existing, and with intense pressure on it existing by my colleages, what am I going to say? "It doesn't exist"? No! I'd be out of a job and despised by my community. It's no wonder so few scientists have stepped out.
Citing a Wikipedia article on Global Warming? Not only is Wikipedia not a valid source, but it is a biased oligarchy, where all "undesired" opinions are censored out.
