Here's my problem with the devs simply asking us for AI improvements: the only way we will ever be satisfied with the AI is if IC has a dedicated 3-4 man team focused just on making better AI. And this seemingly has never happened in the history of PC games. Think about some of the best AI in PC games. Supreme Commander: it's not the default AI, it's the modded Sorian AI. Same thing with Age of Empires 2 (the modded AI is incredible). Age of Empires 3, which
I'd also be interested in a game with you guys, Just tell me when.
I've played one multiplayer game. Was a but fun, but quite fast, and bit too much to keep track of. And even the nice players aren't too forgiving of noobs, I may try playing again someday, but it probably won't be until Rebellion.
I definitely like what you're thinking there. We do need some fresh ideas. The electronic warfare ones I especially like. I'll add additional comments later; anyone else have feedback or want to contribute on Sins' research system?
GoaFan77, I like the idea of prereqs. What if we made the tree simply more stuctured, like a tree, rather than so open-ended? Or would that create more problems? Darvin, Thanks for the feedback. I think we both agree that something has to be done with the technology system. Something else: tech just plain isn't
I saw in the main thread the idea of a technological victory the idea of a technological. However, I think that in order to have one, we would need to dramatically improve the current technological system. I love the technology route in any game. I'll always pursue a smaller, technologically advanced fleet over a massive one given its feasibility. Now the current technology system is brilliantly simple. However, I think it's almost too simple. A few tweaks could be in order
Definitely agreeing with others on the necessity of Advent PM block. I play mainly Advent, and those PM's utterly own me later game. Advent have a higher percentage of shields than hull, and Vasari ignore shields. It couldn't be a worse combo.

Escape Velocity on the Mac, 10 years ago. A classic 2D space RPG. People bought Macs (of all things) just to play it. I spent 1000+ hours on that game (including plugins) over 5 years, as well as the 2 sequels. The Age of Empires series got me as well. Put at least 300 hours into the series.
Online (for the next hour)
I've used it since the RC (it was the way to play GalCiv2 on my Mac). The RC was free, so I used it on my Mac in Boot Camp, bought the GalCiv trilogy, and was happy. I now bought myself Windows 7 Pro through a student discount, and I use it on my Core i7 gaming PC, specifically built because my Macbook couldn't handle Sins of a Solar Empire. Integrated graphics suck. [e digicons]:'([/e] I really have liked using Windows 7. I still have trouble with Windows XP, and hate using it when I
Yeah. It seems the devs have shut up about game progress, development, etc. again, at least with the fans. The caps still need fixing, as do the civ and mil techs (see the appropriate threads in the main forum), ignoring current issues with the Diplomacy XP. I'd be happy to know fixes will be released even in 2 months, but some notification would be nice.
Yup. See my thread https://forums.sinsofasolarempire.com/376465 for discussion on the issue. Unfortunately, we've still had no response from the devs on this issue. [e digicons]:annoyed:[/e]
Will this be released to more recent pre-orders, or will we still have to wait until Beta 2?
Have we had any response on this yet?
I still web browse on my Mac, but I've practically made the complete switch to Windows, due entirely to Impulse.
It's a cloth map of the campaign, which is a set map.
Indeed. Check them out.
Sorry, but this is a bug, plain and simple. The point of AI in any game is to be as humanlike as possible. If one cannot tell the difference between an AI, and a human, that AI has succeeded. Diplomacy was supposed to stop the AI's ganging up on the human player ONCE AND FOR ALL. And yet here is the AI doing it again. I play on higher difficulty levels because I want a more humanlike opponent experience. Not because I simply want it "harder". And
My thread here talks about the bug with the AI and doling out pirate bounty.
Yeah, it's pretty sad with the AI and the bounty system. IT requires you to exploit it to get anywhere. Really needs a fix.
I wanted to bump this thread, as it sure is annoying.
This is a definite bug, then. I might just email the devs about this. Anyone got their email? And I have been observing some of the same activity as you guys.
