Eh well. Gonna enjoy my unintended unbalanced advent release on my other PC then. Kind of a nice april fool's day joke from the devs.

Hi, i got 2 PCs. One of them updated to 0.75 over the weekend, the other one does not auto-update from 0.62. I deleted the local game content and downloaded the game again from Steam just to see it's 0.62 again. Can anyone here help me or do I have to check Steam support?

(1) In the empire tree, the first ship is usually the highest lvl cap. The titan is in the end, somewhere between cheapo frigs and fighters. IMO the titan should always be the first ship in the tree, no matter what his lvl is. Its firepower and general importance make it usually one of the the most important things you have to manage so it should have a dominant position in the empire tree. (2) Is there any way to tell the fraction of my enemy when i see him besides wai

I accidentially missed the last upgrade of the titan research. Was still able to build the forge and start construction, which was halted at 75%. As i had no idea what was wrong i restarted construction and even rebuild the forge on another planet to track down the issue before i realized it was the msising research. Before this I thought I need all levels completed before I can start building the ship at all. So I'd suggest some description or warning that tells the players that they can

There is a Mod that gives you exactly what you want: https://forums.sinsofasolarempire.com/369301

This usually happens after updates as certain features get added, removed or changed. Old savegames almost never work after an update.

Thanks for your informnation. As I always get the first 1 or 2 upgrades asap to get out of underdevelopment cost I was thinking on when to get additional upgrades for the planets. Also maybe someone can write when to research additional population capacity for terran/other planets in the civic tree.

The title says it all. I guess it's something like .05/sec per population point but I'm not sure due to the many modificators that can apply to tax income. Also maybe one of has tips on when to get pop upgrades - please share. P.S. happy 2010 everyone ;)

Not a Diplomacy related topic, but this seems to be the forum where most requests and suggestions are posted, so I decided to post here. I know this are minor issues compared with the ones you have to deal with while coding diplomacy, but they have been annoying me and probably many others during the last months so maybe they could get a fix if one of your coders has some spare time (yay I know how much spare time coders have ;) ): 1. Long ago, three add-ons were announced and it was said that you could mix them as you like when you want to play internet games. What a great announcement it was. Now, times have changed and reality is cruel and cold. Diplomacy will split the already small internet community again. As far as I can see there is a mix of about 50-50 between ppl who play regulr sins and entrenchment online with almost all of the regular players having entrenchment and many casual players s
Kostura Cannons are GOLDEN (if you have Entrenchment). What do they do in Entrenchment again? (Gonna get in a week or two, so don't reply after that) And besides what GoaFan77 said, can they still use their original capability from vanilla?
Act as phase stabilizer node. Shoot at enemy homeworld, jump your fleet behind their lines, destroy some planets and jump back home before their defending fleet arrives.

First, quad core won't help, sins is single core software iirc. There are several mods that allow larger fleet sizes, browse the modding forum. The 10x Mod should do what you want, however i don't know if it is compatible with the latest release. //edit - or try the solution above. ;)

I never had a game desync and a minidump only once in a while before diplomacy got released. Now i experience desync or minidump in about 20% of my games. Several players online tole me the same, it is almost impossible to have a 5v5 without someone DCing within the first minutes. And I'm not talking about newbs who just quit when they get rushed but veteran players who are no quitters. I have no idea if diplomacy has something to do with these issues, but there is a significant rise in techn
I'm really looking forward to whatever updates to the beta you guys are brewing for us and check these forums here almost daily to see if anything new has come. I don't even bother to 'test' the current beta because I find it of such poor quality. I really don't understand why you went public with it - I think you should have waited.
The features are very limited, but I think there may be several reasons for publishing the game in such an unfinished state. I think it would be good if players were able to transfer a part of their income or a steady cash flow (for example 20 cred/s) to other players. This would be useful in games vs AI, where a weaker player could be forced to transfer income to a stronger one - finally you don't have to destroy an enemy and recolonize his planets in order to boost your economy. In multiplayer games eco players could transfer cash to front line players without having to click the donation buttons all the time. Ev
Basically, for diplomacy to be effective, you have to start doing it early, before you get into a real slugging match. It's impossible to get friendly with an AI when you're destroying its ships by the truckload since they keep jumping into your systems.
Thats the point. In Entrenchment you can have a starbse up in less than 5 minutes if necessary, and the effect of having a starbase in a system is huge. All features that have been presented for Diplomacy so far would n

At least one of you has a corrupted version of the game. There is a workaround on the forums (do a search, this is a problem that happened to several people), but the best solution is to reinstall the game. I had the same problem, a new install solved it.

It would be really graeat to have another way of winning than "get tons of cash, get tons of ships, go for enemy" (singleplayer) or "have someone get tons of cash, someone else tons of ships and go for enemy" (multiplayer). The game would benefit a lot from it, both online and offline. Diplomacy was supposed to bring new ways of winning the game - there are no signs of something like this coming. You still can only win by building an army larger than yor enemies and crush them. Maybe
It would be a nice addition to have a mid-level diplomacy tech of "artifact sharing" or something.
It would definitely make it more interesting to search for artifacts then because they all are very specific and do not necessarily match the player's role. What I mean is that in a multiplayer 5v5 for example a guy fighting on the front line would not benefit much from increased trade or tax income if he found them on one of the contest

envoy cruisers cost a lot of resources and population, need research and have no offensive abilities at all. If you say that scouts are useful for reconaissance only then you probably do not play online and never got scout rushed.

Yes, I also wonder why embassies have to be on homeworlds only. It may make sense when compared to real-life politics, but I think it would be much more useful for the game if you could establish an embassy or some kind of outpost on all enemy planets. These outposts would be a kind of a civil starbase with upgrades like permanent planet vision, slowing of trade, production or culture spread, stealing income and so on. Maybe you could make them immune to weapons fire (diplomatic immunity blah
